Haha I think once you start poas you're guna be poas the whole 2 weeks!

Yay for the poas addicts!!! We must have wasted so much money!

alizeeod · 17/04/2014 16:05

I don't recommend Sainsburys own brand test. Years ago and in a casual relationship I took a test which was positive, I went to get an abortion after the worst week of my life only to be told by the lady that the scan showed no pregnancy, she sent me home with a pregnancy test and it was negative, then my period came. I hadn't bothered taking another test as they say false positives are pretty unheard of. It wasn't an early miscarriage either as I had no spotting or anything...

Ducky23 · 17/04/2014 16:27

Oh dear Ali :( that sounds awful.

I just been to asda and brought some more but they aren't as sensitive as first response! Doh

looking4rainbow · 17/04/2014 16:30

Oh that sounds like an awful experience alizeeod

Last time I used asda own brand think £3.50 for 2 there was the faintest line then backed it up with the clearblue digital.

I'm going to try some of the asda £1 ones like others on this thread have tried. I imagine I will poas alot next week and at least won't cost me a fortune. I spent nearly £50 on ovulation tests this month

Hopefully worth it in the end though Grin

Ducky23 · 17/04/2014 16:35

Where did you get your ov tests from? Tey sound expensive! I got somethig like 40 off e bay for £5.

I got the 2 for £3.50 from asda, I looked at the £1 but they aren't very sensitive so if you plan on testing early they might not show. The £1 detect 25 and the £3.50 detect 15, the lower the number the more sensitive they are, think the first response detect 10

alizeeod · 17/04/2014 16:49

Can I just clarify, the Sainsburys was digital, no lines, just the words "Pregnant" and "Not pregnant". Found out in Peckham library toilets, nearly passed out, then had a nervous breakdown on the Rye and couldn't get hold of the dad for a good 3 days as his phone had been cut off. Torn as to whether or not I should abort it for a whole week whilst working as a nanny and being around kids all day.
Anyway, as I said I wasn't even pregnant but I swear that week between the test and the abortion clinic, every single child I encountered either smiled at me or wanted to hug me. It was such a weird time...

Cupcake92 · 17/04/2014 16:51

I got the £1 ones from asda :(
the last time I was pregnant I tested with the 2 for £3.50 from asda and got a bfn and so decided to go out and drank a lot and was very drunk!! I had a spare test from tesco so used that the next morning as I felt even sicker than I usually would after drinking and it was bfp!!
I thought I'd hurt my baby I got so worried. So I've never trusted those 2 for £3.50 asda ones :/
When could I test? And what test would be best?

looking4rainbow · 17/04/2014 16:51

Ooh thanks for the heads up I never knew about the numbers i will get the £3.50 ones again.

I went ovulation tests mad bought the cheap ones from Amazon. Then thought I might not be able to make sense of the line. So bought clear blue digital from asda, then realised I wanted the advance (for the 4 days fertile period) so bought that too haha

You will probably now understand why want to wait as long as possible to poas hehe I can get a bit obssessive

Prettylady8 · 17/04/2014 17:02

Congrats Ducky! Smile

Ducky23 · 17/04/2014 17:14

Thanks pretty lady Grin

Well from looking at the threads on here the super drugs own brand seems to be best and then first response. My AF is (was) due tomorrow and I got a faint line on first response Smile just really really hope it gets darker over the next few days

Prettylady8 · 17/04/2014 18:03

Can someone tell me if it will be good to use soft cups and fertility Gel to conceive? Has anybody used soft cup to get pregnant? Any success stories?

Ducky23 · 17/04/2014 18:06
