The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

I POAS this morning believing af should've shown up by now, she's 2 days late...and I got a BFP. Freaking bfp! I'm feeling every emotion going right now. I feel like doing a Gavin and Stacey and going out and buying 32 tests just to be sure. I'm still in the WTF cycle and we had TITH once when i ov'd...

Otters I'm so sorry it was a BFN . 11 could still be too early though. Last time round I think I was 14dpo and had tested neg on 13dpo. You are not out till the witch shows but I know what a punch in the gut that BFN is. Hugs.

I'll second that Otters, I did a sneaky test on Monday, which would've been 11 dpo and nothing. And that was with a supposedly early detection test (yes, slap me with a fish, I did a secret test!) but today I got a BFP. You're not out yet

I may have PO yet another freakin stick today. Which would be um four tests in as many days. But I was just doing it to keep you guys company. I definitely don't have a problem. I can stop anytime I want .

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I can't help but compare things to when I got my bfp last year (i.e.strong bfp at 10dpo). Daft I know. I've had a wee cry but getting my CUTO. Again.

This is an amazingly lucky thread! Am even prepared to believe that my random cramping is ovulation after all and will jump DH as much as possible this weekend. What a great start to a Friday!

Thanks everyone I don't think I'll be truly happy until I've had blood tests and a happy healthy scan but it's some kind of miracle for sure. I'll head off and see my GP next week and no doubt get a slap on the wrist for not waiting for af to show up before trying again This thread is bringing some good luck. Penguin, lol at the knicker checking and knocker poking! So true! And I'm certain I'll POAS daily for a while yet, might as well use up my stocks, right?!

Otters sorry for your disappointment today, but as others have said, you're not out yet. Fwiw in Jan I had a bfn at 14dpo and didn't test again until 23dpo when I got the bfp - so sometimes the 14 day 'rule' doesn't work. Fx still crossed for you.

Here in Tanny Towers we are 11dpo and slip sliding all over the shop. I should be oving tomorrow or next day but am still on enforced nttc . What a waste of a good looking ov cycle. Still, that'll be 2 cycles down 1 to go...

This is my last day of sick leave. I start back on Monday after 6 weeks off. I'm feeling a bit better and less mad. Really thought I was losing it there for a while .

I POAS again today just for the hell of it, still BFP but not as dark I think this is because I used Wilko cheapie today and was using frer's before? Actually made me more mental! From now on I'm pregnant, no more checking!

Can I ask the ladies with recent BFPs a personal question please .... How did you time your BDing? I have been reading and everyone has a different idea.

On the month we fell pregnant with my son we were still dating and I know we had sex in the evening and the following morning and that was it as we hadn't seen each other for a while as id been away. In January we had sex over four days in the fertile window, on the day before OV we BDed twice, which I plan on doing this cycle.

Other people seen to swear by every other day and of course some people just have sex once when they get a pos opk and get knocked up!!

Sebs we had a spate of everyone on the thread following SMEP "sperm meets egg plan" a few months ago. I think we had a record number of BFPs that month! Google it for more info. It's knackering, especially if you're not a spring chicken, but gets results!

Sebs, I've had both scenarios - like you, with my first pregnancy, we DTD the 4 days leading up to ov, probably every other day before that, and once or twice after for good measure! This time, we had sex once around ov as we really weren't in the mood to put in any more effort than that. I just don't see that there's a fool proof method, no right way, but no wrong way either
