The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

That's good penguin - I hope you have nothing further to alarm you until Monday. I love your snakes & ladders analogy, you're quite right. Hopefully we'll all roll double sixes soon and safely win the game!

Next Wed seems an age away too, but I always knew this would be the worst part. No more poas-ing except ICs because they're still showing BFN until Friday for me.

Oh, I meant to add my Project Desperate routine for this month, for the record: DTD three days in a row up to OV and then again the next day, plus a couple before that. Conceive Plus, 20 drops of agnus castus twice daily and acupuncture - I think in that order of effectiveness, as I've been going to acupuncture for over a year now. And frolic acid with B vits. Maybe what actually did the trick was having more TITH than normal Blush. Bit embarrassing if we've not been getting pg for lack of sex!

Penguin13 · 08/04/2014 12:33

Holly I will be 6+3 so hopefully a reasonable chance of seeing something even if it's maybe too early for a hb. I feel calmer knowing that whatever happens I will know more on Mon.

That is an impressive amount of TITH Seasides. looks like it's more snakes than ladders at your house Grin

Seasides · 08/04/2014 13:09

Grin penguin. Think we're both looking forward to going from snakes back to pandas!

officelady · 08/04/2014 13:14

Nice work on the old shagfest, Seasides! I am going to give the SMEP thing a whirl this cycle, haven't told dh yet, don't want to scare the poor man! I'm basically a bit desperate because in my head I feel I should stop ttc by the end of the year (due to my age) so I want to throw everything at it for a few months. Of course it's easy to type this when I'm only on CD3 and under no pressure to perform Grin
penguin I'm crossing everything for you - you'd think it would get easier once you get the BFP but it's still just a horribly stressful waiting game.

And everybody - step away from the POAS tests! They only work on Fridays - Science Fact.

Carly6971 · 08/04/2014 13:35

penguin I was only 5+6 when I had my early scan and although I didn't see the heart beat the scan lady did. It's on my scan report heart best visualised. :) x

Metalhead · 08/04/2014 13:45

Glad you've been given a scan date Penguin, fx everything will be ok.

3dpo here and already going a bit mental again with impatience. Will have to apply for another job soon to distract me before I descend into symptom spotting madness...

EnglishGirlAbroad · 08/04/2014 14:39

Glad you've got a scan booked in Penguin, hopefully it'll put your mind at ease.
I'm also going to give SMEP a whirl Office, worked for me before so fingers crossed it'll work again. Just need my body to play ball and ovulate normally! That would be nice!

sebsmummy1 · 08/04/2014 15:19

I am living the life of a WAG lol without the huge amounts of cash or mansion in Cheshire I joined my local council run gym with free crèche and DS and I go most mornings, when we have no other appointments. It is so fabulous. The crèche ladies are absolutely lovely and the classes are really good fun with the option of lane swimming afterwards.

I feel so much better in myself and DS seems to enjoy being with the other children and having new toys to play with. Hopefully I will also lose some weight having put on nearly a stone in a year Blush

3dpo here, FF gave me my cross hatches today. No point in even considering a symptom spot till about 8dpo so I'm just going to concentrate on enjoying the weather and maybe book some swimming lessons as my front crawl is pants.

Triplespin · 08/04/2014 15:49

penguin great that you have a date booked now, so you have something to look forward to now

sebs, metal good luck with your 2ww. You can both poas next Friday ! yay.

english did you have 'suspected' anovulatory cycles before the mc?

seaside thank you for sharing your project desparate list. I'm always interested to know if there is any pattern to when /how people get pg - but so far there is none !

nothing much going on here. Now at nearly 4 weeks since miscarriage and the spotting continues. TMI alert - more bright red today, just when yesterday there wasn't much and I thought it had subsided. Going for my repeat bHCG test on Thursday to make sure the levels are dropping. It was 226 last week, so I hope it has at least halved. Last poased on Friday evening, when the pg line was as dark as the control line (so nice to see it actually, because I've never had such bright red lines in actual pregnancy). I will probably not waste another test now, as I will find out soon enough on Thursday where the levels are at. It also means that there will be no sign of AF or ovulation until my hcg level drops. So I cannot ttc for sometime.

Viperama · 08/04/2014 18:47

Massive headache off and on all day, turned to nausea after lunch. I've worked 9 days straight today but am not stressed, though tired. I am 9dpo however.
Just hot home and two tulips are out and proud, lovely deep purple jobies. After a bit of deadheading and two paracetamol I feel better.

Is it too early to do a FRER tomorrow morning on first pee?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 08/04/2014 19:00

Triple... No had pretty regular cycles before the mc. Hate that they're a bit screwed now... but hey ho. We'll see I guess

Chazel19 · 08/04/2014 19:23

Hi,

Hoping I have found the rift ttc thread to join! I'm 27 and started ttc in December last year, I fell pregnant quickly but sadly in January I found out that it was an ectopic. Now 3 months have passed I am able to join the madness of ttc. AF finished two days ago so I am now on cd 8.

So anxious of a repeat ectopic, but really happy that we can start ttc again after what felt like the longest wait. I've been taking folic acid for over 2 months and have increased my intake of whole milk.

My temperate is so up and down in the mornings that temping isn't really working for as first day of AF I was two degrees cooler than the forth day. I do however have some cb ovulation sticks that worked well last time.

Anyway, enough about me. Hoping to find / give support and positivity!!

Chazel xx

EnglishGirlAbroad · 08/04/2014 19:37

Hi Chazel, Sorry for your loss. Hope you find this thread as supportive and friendly as I have. Wishing you a short stay.
Have you tried taking your temp vaginally - sometimes its more stable. Good LUCK

Cakebaker35 · 08/04/2014 20:00

Welcome chazel you'll get lots of great support here and laughs along the way. Here's hoping your stay here is nice and short.

viper no poas 'till Friday! Xxx

Incacola · 08/04/2014 20:13

Has anyone else been advised to take low dose aspirin? I spoke to a couple of midwives after my mc and they suggested that sometimes early mc can be due to small clots disrupting the formation of the placenta and so suggested that I take low dose aspirin when we started ttc again. I'm taking it but just wondered if anyone else was doing the same?

Also, by the rules of the thread, if AF is due on Sunday do I have to wait until next Friday to POAS?!

I'm doing ok thanks to those of you who asked (sorry for the delayed reply!). Life has been hectic for us over the last few months as my husband and I have moved to the other end of the country and taken on a new business as well as having our 16mo Dd to look after. I think keeping busy has helped me to not dwell too much on the mc.

sebsmummy1 · 08/04/2014 21:10

Incacola I've read different opinions on aspirin do I don't take it. But I probably would if someone professional had advised me to.

Carly6971 · 08/04/2014 21:19

Inca I take the low dose aspirin...no idea why. Midwife put me on it at my booking in appt (I think due it bmi) so I have just carried on with it incase?! Not much help I know lol x

Welcome chazel, hope your stay is short but sweet x

healthyhippo · 09/04/2014 08:04

Still have another 5 days of norithesterone to take. (Was put on them for 10 days for dysfunctional bleeding. Was still bleeding from miscarriage first week Feb). When I come off them I expect to bleed again but this should put me back to cd1 I think. Is this right or doesn't this cycle count as it is a sort of fake one? Am I likely to ovulate at the usual time or is it still wtf cycle? Any experiences?

Triplespin · 09/04/2014 08:06

Welcome chazel. Wishing you a short stay, this thread is very lucky!

incaola there is conflicting advice on aspirin. I saw a rmc consultant at st. Mary's (well known for rmc) and was told that if you do not have a clotting disorder and take aspirin on the well-meaning advice that it can't hurt: "at best it will not make a difference and at worst there is a 20% chance of miscarriage". Two days later I went back to the clinic where I had my fertility investigations (one of the best in London) and even without any tests I was recommended to take aspirin from next bfp.

I don't want to alarm you, but just wanted to highlight that experts do not really agree. I think if you do have a clotting issue, then it can help.

Triplespin · 09/04/2014 08:08

english it's probably worth visiting the GP then when you move back as your cycles have not returned back to normal. Did you have a natural mc?

I have heard of using the pill to regulate cycle after mc. Has anyone done that? I fear that my AF may altogether stop or take even longer to come back.

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 09/04/2014 08:21

Hi ladies

Please can I join this thread? I'm 35 ttc No2 (DS is 2.4y). I had my implant out back in November and got pregnant straight away, however it ended in miscarriage in January.

We halfheartedly decided to try again a couple of weeks again as we're feeling ready again, and although I said I was going to chill out and just see what happens, I've got a bit obsessed already! I'm 10DPO having dtd twice around ovulation (randomly did a ovulation test as I was feeling really horny at it was positive then did one the next day at it was still positive so dtd again). I've been having tingling boobs for the last 4-5 days and had convinced myself I was pregnant but naughtily POAS today and yesterday and of course BFN! I keep saying to myself its still early but can't help feel down about it. Both times I've been pregnant before I was completely relaxed about the whole thing and wasn't particularly aware of being in the TWW however this time I'm well and truly aware of every bloody second of it!!!

Metalhead · 09/04/2014 09:06

Welcome Chazel and meryl, I'm sorry for your losses. Hopefully your stay here will be short and you will find some support, I know I have. 10dpo is still quite early for a BFP meryl so fx you're not out yet.

Nothing new to report here. I don't seem to have sore boobs which I always got straight after ov until AF arrived pre-mc, but I'm guessing that could just be my hormones still being a bit weird. Anyway, can someone please slap me with a fish to remind me that symptom spotting is futile...

EnglishGirlAbroad · 09/04/2014 09:10

I am going to go to the doctors when I get back Triple - but i'm in two minds as to what to say.
I don't know wether to mention the mc (which was natural) to gp as they may say to wait a year before they'll look into it. Or to not mention it as in June it'll be a year off the pill and they may take me more seriously...

Sorry for your loss Meryl - I hope you have a short stay with us, you'll find a lot of support and laughs amongst this lovely lot. [smiile]
