Wish, I'm really sorry Hmm even when you 'know' it doesn't take away the hope and want for that bfp. Enjoy tonight hun, should definitely make you laugh. Have you had immune tests done Wish. I think they're well worth the money as can either rule out implantation issues or highlight things which you can try to counteract during a cycle so implantation can occur. Just a thought for later, you probably don't want to think about all that right now.

Beetle, great news hun. Keeping all things crossed for your second beta result today.

It is the not knowing WHY it doesn't work which is the hardest in lots of ways. I'm an old bird too Wink but they've never been able to say why we've had so many failures. I stupidly thought having another successful cycle would be easier after having my DS and so the consultants said too. However, it's not been at all the case. It's wondering how long to keep on trying and how long is actually pointless like banging my head against a hard wall, which is doing my head in!

Turquoise, great news on your five follicles. A good tweak of drugs can make all the difference Smile

Hi to cups, nobeer, res, Moggle, MaryP, Moon and everyone else...can't see on my phone, so trying to remember all names with my ancient memory Wink

nobeer · 14/03/2014 12:49

Wish I'm so sorry my love. I think Stars is right, have a think about immunoglogy tests to rule anything out. Read Dr Beer's book and see if anything rings a bell with you www.amazon.co.uk/Your-Body-Baby-Friendly-Unexplained-Infertility/dp/0978507800/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394801142&sr=1-1&keywords=dr+beer
I asked my clinic about them after 1 failed cycle and it turns out there's some kind of genetic incompatibility between me and DP which in turn means the embryo may not be compatible with me, so we can only transfer one at a time. You're a youngster Envy so you've got time to investigate this. Can I send you an unmumsnetty hug?

nobeer · 14/03/2014 12:54

I'm back from clinic (and bank Angry ) and we're on the IVF train again! I can have a non medicated FET! I'm feeling very positive and cheerful! Had a scan this morning, and next one on Monday! They're going to defrost all the embryos and check them for chromosonal abnormalities, apparently 75% can have abnormailities at my age. Then they'll take the good ones to 5 day blast and just transfer one. I'm not a religious woman, but I am praying for my embryos to be ok (or at least some of them!).
Beetle got everything crossed for you. Hope you're having a nice time in the UK too.

Turquoisetamborine · 14/03/2014 13:21

wish so sorry honey. Life is shit sometimes. Take care of yourself.

starsandmoonandback · 14/03/2014 17:45

Almost had MIL descending on us next week, but managed to convince DH that it was not a good idea. Phew. That was Close!

Waves to everyone!

starsandmoonandback · 14/03/2014 19:32

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 14/03/2014 21:51

WannabeMaryPoppins · 15/03/2014 10:29

Morning everyone
Wish how was your night out?
Beetle any news on your test results?

starsandmoonandback · 15/03/2014 11:09

Yes, thinking of you wish and Beetle. X
MaryP how are you pupo lady? X

Turquoisetamborine · 15/03/2014 12:01

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend. wish how are you feeling?

I'm hungover slightly. I'd been so good for ages but I just decided to throw caution to the wind and go out for my friend'a birthday. Had a right laugh. Could be the last night out I have for two years if the IVF works so I don't care. You can't let it consume your whole life.

Off to the pictures and bowling with H and son now. Hope you are all doing something nice.

Turquoisetamborine · 15/03/2014 12:02

Maryp any symptoms yet?

wishwash · 15/03/2014 12:54

So, Jack Whitehall is awesome Smile. Did get back til 2:30am and now I'm so shattered and got a lymph node up in my neck. Impending illness alert.
I do much prefer his tv panel 'off the cuff' stuff to his stand up though, and his role in fresh meat.

stars and nobeer thanks for mentioning the immunology tests. My plan was to ask you all your thoughts on them as my doc pretty much pished the idea when I mentioned it. He is pretty much against most tests I suggest.

I have my hysteroscopy booked for the day before my birthday yay

Choo choo nobeer!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 15/03/2014 19:08

Really glad you had a great evening wish.

I'm fine thanks turq. Doing my best not to think about things too much. Have been having night sweats & am just praying that it is down to the hormones. No symptoms but I am only 4d5dt (and please no comments from anyone saying how early they tested) so it really is early days. And to be honest i'm taking that much progesterone that any symptoms I may get could be hormone induced. So am just trying to relax & enjoy my time off work. Not always that easy though!

How is everyone else doing?

wishwash · 15/03/2014 22:34

Ok so I thought I was dealing with this well. I'm really not. I just keep breaking down over nothing and I feel really alone.
DP just doesn't help, I need help

WannabeMaryPoppins · 15/03/2014 22:59

Dear wish have just seen your post & couldn't go to bed without replying. You are not alone I can assure you. We may only be virtual friends but we do know what you are going through & how you are feeling. We are here for you. Men are crap at all this and most of the time its because they have no comprehension of what we go through.they have a wank in the pot & job done. When ttc naturally you have no idea what's going on inside. But this is different. You know exactly what has been going on. And its shit when it doesn't work out. But you are strong wish or you wouldn't have got this far. please take the time to get over this loss. And make sure you lean on us. That's what we're here for. If you are considering getting outside help perhaps someone on here can recommend someone from your area. You can and will get through this .

BrookerC · 15/03/2014 23:07

Urgent response crack team here. wish lovely, let the emotion work it's way out of you. I think it's the best way. Something resp said a few weeks ago struck a chord with me. I haven't cried since (or on) my bfn & it is prolonging the agony. I need to get this cycle out of my system but I'm emotionally incapable.
You are never alone either. We are all here for you whenever you need us. Sending a massive non fucking mumsnet hug xx. Take it a day at a time & when you're ready plan your next step.
I've ordered the Dr Beers book that nobeer recommended & hoping for some inspiration..if it helps I'll send it onto you when I've read it . Keep strong lovely and keep talking to us. x

wishwash · 15/03/2014 23:28

Thank you Sad. I love you guys

BrookerC · 15/03/2014 23:43

nobeer fab news on your unmedicated FET starting soon. I loved mine apart from the result Will you have a trigger or any bum bullets? You have been sooo patient for the last few months'.
stars have you had anymore thoughts about your frostie or another fresh cycle?
cups NYC for your anniversary? Well done Mr CC! Are you cycling this month?
Hi maryp. What distractions have you got planned for the next few days? Are you off work until OTD?
turq great scan news. The increased drugs are obviously doing the job Smile. I'm currently working on tomorrow's hangover. There is life beyond ivf, but it's such a small window of opportunity in my house that I have to grab it with both hands

beetle thinking of you & hoping it's great news today.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 16/03/2014 09:20

Wish I just want to give you a big hug. I don't think our partners ever truly get it. IVF is so fucking hard, it's not just the emotional side it's everything you have had to go through physically as well. I know I've not done as many cycles as you so I can only imagine how much harder it gets each time but I remember all too well the feeling of crushing disappointment and despair. It's the uncertainty of it all that really gets me, I wish some could look in a crystal ball and say if it's ever going to happen or not. Please keep talking to us, we are all here for you xxxx

Brooker I'm really hoping AF will be here in 2 weeks and then it will hopefully be full steam ahead for my second fresh cycle. Choo choo!

nobeer · 16/03/2014 09:53

Morning wish. I hope you've had a good night sleep and are feeling a bit brighter. I think the only people who understand repeated BFNs are women who've had them. I'm sure OHs are disappointed but I don't think they get it. A colleague of mine who went through many failed cycles has been a real brick. I think she's the only one in RL who "gets" it.

Re your doctor dismissing the idea of immunology tests, lots of doctors do. There's a yahoo group which is mentioned in the book and they've got a list of "immunology friendly" doctors across the world, so it might be an idea to change clinic. I can't remember if you're NHS or private, or where you are in the country, but it might be worth looking around for a second opinion anyway. Tbh I think I was quite lucky, I asked my doctor about immunology tests, and she said that one of their sister clinics had one in another city and I could have telephone appointments. As the tests are so expensive, I do recommend you read the book before seeing an immunologist just to see if anything rings a bell.

Take care my lovely, sending another hug.

nobeer · 16/03/2014 09:59

brooker I'm not sure about a trigger or bum pellets. I sadly missed out on the pleasure of bum pellets but I did have the joy of those delightful pessaries. I can't believe I don't remember what they're called! I definitely remember the mess though. I'll share all the grim details in the upcoming weeks Smile

WannabeMaryPoppins · 16/03/2014 18:38

Wish was thinking of you today & really hope that things are looking brighter.
Brooker hello. Dh & ds came back today so that has kept me busy. Have also got a bit of work that I can do from home. Am spending the rest of my time watching downton abbey & baking. Have so far managed to rustle up flapjacks & profiteroles. Next up are chocolate browniesGrin Grin
Hi to nobeer,, turq, cups and everyone else

Bearsandhoney · 16/03/2014 19:38

Hi all,

I hope you ladies don't mind if I join you? I've read (stalked) this thread from time to time but never posted. All the ladies seem so supportive of each other and unless you've experienced IVF its impossible to know what it feels like... Right?

I am lucky to have a DS but have not been able to have another child and am currently undergoing our 4th round of ICSI (one round was a fET, the others all fresh goes). We hope this one works, but after 4 failures I am finding it hard to remain positive TBH.

Hello to you all and best of luck to all those PUPO or about to be.

Wish: I hope that you are feeling better today.
