Rubles,

My FSH and LH levels were done on Day 2 of my cycle. Have a look at St Marys Hospital site. Go thru the following links.........
Services............Adult services......Then recurrent m/c.
Print out the booklet or read it. This tells you everything you need to know regarding tests.

I have gone thru all tests and am now in line for surgery. If you have any questions just ask. I will try and help.

Good Luck.

Angsthase · 23/08/2006 10:19

Oinker, you really are our test expert now
Sorry you had to go through all that to become it though, but crossing my fingers for your surgery. How's the weight loss going?

RuthL - My AF is much heavier since my m/c and I have significantly more clots. But if you're worried you should mention it to the GP for clarification or some scans. My cycle has also lengthened from 28 to 31 days.

Rubles - your GP sounds pants. I would speak to someone else if you're not happy. When I got my referral last year my GP arranged for DH sperm tests first at the same time as the referral letter, so when we had our appt they already had the results. I then did the day 3 and day 21 bloods plus other tests.

Babyfettle - sound away. That's what we're here for! It can be really hard going into baby shops, but I try to think of it as part of coming to terms with it and living with it. I'm much better now than I was 3 months ago and I'm hoping it will get easier.

On a positive note, DH is home the right time for a change and due to my change in cycle lengths (if they stay the same), will be for the next 4 months - Yippee!! So I have decided to give up alcohol for this period to see if it helps - along with taking some of the potions listed on other threads to improve EWCM. Determined to be pg before my due date in Dec.

OK, posted enough me thinks.

oinker · 23/08/2006 10:22

Just joined WW last night. Have been good all week but still weighed the same as what I did at the hospital last week and I swear I have been mega good.
Mind you AF has been here for the week. Would that have anything to do with it?

Thanks Oinker, you little star
Re Weight: AF could have something to do with it. As you're in a hurry with the weight loss, the main thing is exercise, exercise, exercise. Can't emphasize it enough. Get walking, swimming, running, pilates (also good for pelvic floor), or whatever blows your hair back. Do something everyday. Build up gradually, but it is THE thing that will make the biggest difference.
Lots of luck xxx

oinker · 23/08/2006 14:43

Will try my hardest....

It's just the bloody fibroids start to ache when I do too much.
I will be pushing it though.

Angsthase · 23/08/2006 16:41

Sorry, sounded like that fella off celebrity fit club
Ouch - poor you. Maybe swimming would be easier on your fybroids?

SKYTVADICT · 23/08/2006 16:48

OMG - I've had a BFP!!!!!!!!!!!

Only told DP so far and we are extremely happy but cautious and SHIT scared in case of another MC.

Not sure who to tell next. It is only CD28 today so its very early days but fingers crossed.

I'll be sticking around on here a while, a bit too scared to move to (OMG) due in May 2007!

Good luck to everyone else xxxxx

Hello, I'm new to here, I'm 39 TTC #4 but went off pill after 13 years in May and no luck so far, charting temps, ov kits, etc. This was the first month I spotted 8 days before my period was due, what the heck, I hope my hormones aren't messed up, plus I normally get terrible headaches and I have had none and no other signs of pms. I'm supposed to get FSH and LH done on 3rd day of cycle this month scared now that I've had these weird symptoms that my hormones are messed up, any advice?

wishing1 · 23/08/2006 18:22

Oinker:

My sis had fibroids, endometriosis, 4 surgeries and was given no hope, she got preg and had a girl, don't ever give up! I have no history of MC or fibroids or anything and 13 years after my last I'm sitting here unable to concieve Maybe it's the age thing with me (39)

SKYTVADICT · 23/08/2006 18:52

Welcome wishing 1 - hope your stay here is short.

Thanks for your congrats andi and FN. FN I do remember you from the due in October thread.

andi - I will make a note in my diary for your CD28 and keep a close eye and fingers crossed and send you and everyone else some baby dust .

It was only our second month ttc after the mc in April - that pregnancy only took 2 months to conceive too so there doesn't seem to be a problem with the conception just the baby! It was a missed mc so we have decided to tell as few people this time as possible until after the scan and def not buy anything or get our hopes up!

trace2 · 23/08/2006 19:07

SKYTVADICT wow congrats hun so pleased

wishing1, just read about you on over 35 welcome i too am 40 and had a m/c in june

babyfettle · 23/08/2006 19:16

Hello All - sounds like I'm unusual to have lighter, shorter cycles since mc - not sure if that is a good sign or not!

Congratulations Skytvaddict! Great news !

Keep thinking positive, sticky thoughts

Hope others on 2WW are still staying positive in both senses!

Oinker, I would say AF would make a difference to your weight - as would the time of day. Was it a very different time of day that you were weighed at WW? I also found what clothes I wore made a noticeable difference, you obviously don't want to be weighed naked at WW, but it would probably make your actual weight more accurate! - so you may have lost a couple of lbs (sorry I refuse to go metric when talking body weight!!). Also I always find that my GP surgery weigh me lighter than I think - WW have super-duper accurate electronic scales (if I remember from my time with them), so if the hospital weighed you with manual scales, it may make a difference too! Don't give up hope - keep at it. Think of the outcome you are working towards. How's DH coping? Is he coming round to the idea of surgery for you?

I should really join you losing weight, as I promised myself I would at least try and lose 2 stone while DH is away, since I wasn't pg. But he's been gone 9 wks nearly and I've lost nothing, as I just can't motivate myself . Must get a stronger will!

Take care all

ruthlouise · 24/08/2006 07:26

Many congratulations SkyTVadict - wishing you all the best for a smooth enjoyable pregnancy [happy]

Babyfettle - I also have short cycles. OV around day 11 and AF 13/14 days later. I used to complain about how short my cycles were when I wasn't TTC but now I've very grateful that I don't have to wait so long for the next chance to TTC each month. Possible TMI coming up...AF not lighter or shorter though which is why I've been a bit concerned about clots as I've already had 4 AF's since m/c as well as initial 6 week bleed and it doesn't seem to have cleared fully. sure I didn't used to have clots but reassured others have said they do - guess I was just lucky before.

oinker · 24/08/2006 07:38

SKYTVADICT....
CONGRATULATIONS
BRILLIANT NEWS

I will be carrying on with my swimming.

Wishing 1, thanks for the support.

DH has come round to the idea of me having the op. He is not really happy but understands that this is something I have to do. I have given him a load of positive stuff to read on it.

andi0411 · 24/08/2006 07:44

Skytv- thanks so much for your positive thoughts for me-I am so glad you didn't have any trouble conceiving..that's half the battle- but ikwym about not being able to' hang' onto them. I'm afraid I have trouble in both depts...am feeling more hopeful this month as I have had my 'old' pg symptoms for the last few days- massive hunger and sore boobs. Daren't be too optimistic though..been let down too many times to tell you about it.
I think you're right not to tell anyone till you're ready- if/when I get pg again I'm not going to tell a living sole-except dp- until I feel ready..it's too much to deal with other peoples feeling (esp my mother).
Good luck - and so much of that sticky stuff to you

Angsthase · 24/08/2006 08:47

SKYTV - Wow thats great news. Congratulations and wishing you a fab pg

rubles · 24/08/2006 08:58

Congratulations SkyTV.

Ruthlouise, in my lunch hour I sometimes pick up the Toni Weschler book in WHSmith for a browse. Last time I did that I remember reading something in there about what constitutes a normal period and I remember a bit about clots being normal for some women. It's a difficult call for you because you want someone to say it's alright but if you go to the doctor about it the chances are high (imo) that you will be patronised and dismissed and you may not feel convinced that everything is alright.

Smole · 24/08/2006 09:28

Congratulations Skytv

MrsMcJnr · 24/08/2006 09:43

Congrtaulations SkyTV!!

chandellina · 24/08/2006 11:51

hi ladies, i'm new here, though not new to the whole miscarriage thing unfortunately. i've had 2, both around 8 weeks, first in oct. and the second in march. desparately ttc now! rubles- as pointed out already, i think your gp has put down the wrong days. LH and FSH should be measured on cd2 or 3. also, estradiol, testosterone and prolactin. Day 21 is for progesterone. i have had all sorts of testing, like thyroid profile, liver profile, antiphospholipid antibodies, full blood profile, karotyping, etc., plus a routine ultrasound to check my ovaries. I've only gone over the results with my gp, who is a bit clueless about it all, though for the most part everything seems pretty much normal. Next week i'm finally going to a specialist at Guys Hospital in London to go over all the results (and to get the karotyping results back). i've been waiting for this appointment for 4 months!! i'm 36, no children yet.

andi0411 · 24/08/2006 15:38

Welcome Chandellina- you're in the right place. You'll get tonnes of advice on here- fab support!! So sorry to hear of your recent m/c's - I have had 3 over the last few yrs- the most recent on the 1st June- so I understand.
Hope to hear from you soon!!

ruthlouise · 24/08/2006 19:27

Welcome to you, Chandellina - hope your stay will be short on this thread and you'll soon catch your little bean

Thanks (again) Rubles. That wqas reassuring to hear. I guess I'm a bit sensitive to the clots because of the huge haemotoma I carried for all those weeks alongside Isaac. Now we know about salmonella causing leisions in adjacent organs (i.e my uterus) I wonder whether it has had time to heal properly or if the clots are part of that. On the other hand I don't want any consultants etc poking about in there unnecessarily and I certainly don't want a d&c. I feel quite anti hospitals after my mistreatment and the mis diagnosis of my daughters salmonella. Think I'll give it another couple of months to hopefully clear itself.
