LOL at you Rubles and your !

Does sound as though you had fab time though Nicola - good for you .

I'd be angry too at your GP surgery Rubles. Can you get priority 'cos of their error? They can at least mention you have already been waiting four weeks in their referral letter. good luck tomorrow.

andi0411 · 21/08/2006 18:22

Hi everybody- sorry about your af RuthL..good luck this month.
God Rubles you must be so p'd off re: the appt nightmare- as RL says- can they not prioritise you more due to their mess up?
Nicola- glad your hol chilled you out and was..ahem..productive- lol- i'm cd 21 -so I guess we're in the same boat..I am testing cd31/32 if there's no sign of af- what about you?

babyfettle · 21/08/2006 19:24

I'm sorry Ruthlouise - I was hoping this was your month. {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} and positive thoughts for this month.

Nicola - you sound like you had a great holiday. I hope it turns out to be a successful one! But I hope it goes well at the fertility clinic tomorrow as well.

Rubles - how frustrating is that. There has to be a way to make you a priority surely now?

T4T - {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for your scan tomorrow.

Hello to everyone else - hope you're all doing ok.

SKYTVADICT · 22/08/2006 09:08

Hi all,

Sorry to hear AF came Ruthlouise.

I am CD27 but feel like I have PMT, still hoping and waiting. Told myself I will test Friday if nothing happens by then but I will probably do it Thursday.

Keep you updated

trace2 · 22/08/2006 09:30

hi all not been on much, i think m/c just hit me ! sorry for ruthhouse for af and welcome the new ones

Angsthase · 22/08/2006 10:33

Hi All,

Nicola glad you were able to enjoy your birthday and got lots of bd'ing in

T4T - Good luck for your scan today.

Rubles at your GP, they are crap aren't they. Mine rang me 2 weeks ago and asked why I had applied for free prescriptions. I had to explain that I'd been pg at the time, but this was no longer the case. Thanks GP's surgery - really needed that (try checking my NOTES!!!). Have you spoken to the GP directly - they may be able to make a call to get you prioratised.

Ruthlouise - looks like we're cycle buddies. My AF arrived today after 3 days of mucking about. Hope Sept is our month

SkyTV - fingers crossed for Friday

Trace2 - It sometimes just creeps up on you again, doesn't it.

Good luck Andi and Uki

Anyone heard from Smole? Just hoping her pg is going well.

andi0411 · 22/08/2006 10:59

Morning Angsthase- how're you? So so sorry to hear the old bag came aroung-it's when af is late that I think it's worse somehow- hopes built up etc [[hug]

Re: your crap gp -god what are they like- if i did my job like that i'd have a hoof up my bum i'll tell you!!

T4t- good luck today- keeping it crossed!!

Sky- wishing you luck too.

Hallo to everyone else- anything happening?

Me? Cd22 and counting- can't test for 10 days ...but..... have felt sick this morning and boobs(tmi i know) tender and veiny. This has only happened to me when I have fallen pg. Wish me luck pls.

time4tea · 22/08/2006 11:02

in haste, now at office, just to say the scan went well, we saw a waving beanie, and the nuchal scan test was very reassuring

thanks so much ladies, I couldn't have done it without you

XXXXX

SKYTVADICT · 22/08/2006 11:12

Thats great news t4t and must be such a good feeling.

oinker · 22/08/2006 11:47

T4T...........

Great News.

Uki. I am glad you are on here. As the others have said you are in the best place. That includes St Marys. They are very good. I am there too. LR clinic is good. The staff are very helpful too. GOOD LUCK.

Smole · 22/08/2006 12:55

I'm still here Angsthase. Went to the docs today and he said I need to see the consultant as I am high risk. So I now have to wait for the appt. Asked about an early scan and was told to discuss it with the consultant.

Great news t4t.

Fingers crossed to everyone else.

Uki · 22/08/2006 13:33

Hi All
I am actually in Oz so will be going to a RMC in sydney never knew they had one before I was always jealous of you UK ladies as you seem so much ahead on the medical front, have heard so much about Royal Womens RM Clinic.

I have not much to report, except i know i'm ov at the moment, good that my bodies back to normal and dh did have a wee accident the other night, so maybee this month is now ttc, even though i wanted to wait a month.

What have you other ladies found out at RMC or through tests Is anyone on Heparin, asprin etc????
Bye for now

Uki · 22/08/2006 13:36

Maybee i don't mean royal womens, as that's the one i'm going to.
Confused

oinker · 22/08/2006 14:18

UKi.........

I don't want to bore everyone on here again about my treatments etc. but basically I have had the lot. Nothing has worked. I am now in the final stages and will hopefully have an operation to remove fibroids, scar tissue(caused by D&C's)and to sort out my septate uterus.
If this doesn't work then I will never have a baby of my own.

If you need more info just ask.

Angsthase · 22/08/2006 14:49

Smole - glad you're ok. Are you high risk because of the previous m/c's or other factors?

At least if they're referring you they can keep a better eye on your progress.

Hope you get a quick appt and it goes ok.

PS.If I were you I'd also call the EPU and see what they think about an early scan.

Smole · 22/08/2006 14:53

High risk 'cause of the m/c's. I called the EPU for my last pregnancy and was told I needed a doctors referal. So I'll have to wait. Hopefully like you said, I'll get a quick appt.

babyfettle · 22/08/2006 19:26

T4T - great news!! Hope you are able relax now and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Glad all is still well with you Smole - I hope you do manage to get an early scan as soon as possible.

Angsthase, sorry AF has arrived, I hope you are staying positive and DH is home at the right time this cycle?

Rubles and RuthLouise, I hope you are right about you stopping to think negatively about your mc once your due date has passed. DH rang me today to say another friend of ours had had a babygirl and could I buy a card and present to send to them. Of course, I'm happy for them and I don't blame DH as I doubt my mc is top of his mind while he is away working 15 hour days, 6.5 days a week. But it was still so hard looking at baby clothes at lunchtime. Guess I should just try harder not to think about it. Only 3 weeks to go until that date passes.

Sorry for going on so long (again) - I'm afraid I use you all as a sounding board, as I know I shouldn't waste valuble phone time with DH talking about these things!

Take care everyone!

rubles · 22/08/2006 20:18

babyfettle - don't worry hun, you're not going on at all - that is what this thread is for.

t4t - yay! You'll be all big and fat and lovely before you know it.

Smole - I hope you don't have to wait too long for the consultant's appointment, it seems a bit harsh for you. Are you around 6 weeks now?

I had another doctor's appointment today - with a different locum this time - to get the blood tests etc sorted. It was really very frustrating. Firstly there was nothing on the system from my last appointment 4 weeks ago, so she was bringing up all my files and brought up the scanned image of the letter from the EPU saying I had had a complete m/c. It shocked me to see it so my throat went a bit tight.

Then she was banging on saying there was obviously nothing wrong with me because I have dd and managed to conceive again in November. She said I just needed to relax and not get worried about it. She really didn't want to refer me anywhere and wanted to wait until I had been trying for a full year after the m/c. I said that I thought it was normal to start investigations after 6 months if you are over 35 to which she said that there was obviously nothing wrong with me. so I got her to just give me the forms for the bloods. She sighed as she wrote them out as she clearly didn't think they were necessary. I had to check that she was ticking the right boxes and correct her spelling of LH.

I then asked about a sperm test for dp and she was even more reluctant to do that. She said as he was younger than me and we had a daughter that there was obviously nothing wrong with him. She said she didn't know how to go about organising it and she'd give me a call - she hasn't, so I'm not sure where to go with that.

  1. I have two questions (if any of you have made it this far). Is it correct to get the FSH/LH check done on day 21?
  2. Does day 21 mean day 21 or does it really mean 7 days after ovulation?
  3. The tests specify they are for FSH/LH (day 21) and oestradiol (day 3). Is that enough?

Thanks. Sorry it's such a long one.

babyfettle · 22/08/2006 20:45

HI Rubles

'Fraid I can't help with the blood test questions, but just wanted to sympathsise. If you've gone through all this before, it seems ridiculous. Also goes to show it really does depend on your GP - mine is more than happy to refer me, even though I've managed to have DD and obviously got pg again before the MC and I'm only 31 [but then it did take 2 years to have DD, and a further 9 mths for 2nd pg]. Because we had already managed to conceive twice, she said there was no point doing all the normal bloods and DH sperm test, so she would refer me straight off.

Not wanting to obviously question your DH's virility, but when my DH had a sperm test when we were undergoing preliminary tests prior to DD, his results came back as sluggish, with 50% swimming the wrong way! He was obviously gutted, but I have to admit it made me giggle just thinking about confused, tired worms . But with my irregular cycle and his retarded sperm, it's really quite a miracle we've managed to conceive twice already!

Anyway, for DH sperm test, he simply had to collect a bottle from our local GP surgery, do the deed and get it to our local fertility clinic within 30 minutes!! and before 10am. Keeping the sample at body temperature on the way (so he stuck it in a sock down his trousers!). So it was pretty straight-forward - although he absolutely hated doing it.

I suppose what I'm saying is, your GP should look at things further, as just because you have already conceived, doesn't mean that you should wait another year before getting help. I would try yet another opinion, if you get no further.

Take care

ruthlouise · 22/08/2006 21:12

Looks like lots of hugs are needed on this thread again. I struggle to keep up with the thread individually these days although many of the things posted here jump out iykwim and I do feel for you.

Babyfettle - you are brave looking at babythings in your lunch break. I don't think it is easy to do at any time after m/c. I've had 3 friends with babies recently - the 2 closest to Isaacs due date, both boys - one is being induced on Thursday morning ('cos she has such dangerously quick labours!). Ebay shops are a good option - Even though I've passed my due date, I've just bought some lovely little soft leather baby shoes as a gift from there.

Oh Rubles, poor you. How unsympathetic can your surgery get . Its all so stressful isn't it.

I've been wondering about something since I found out about the salmonella infection being likely cause of my late m/c. Can anyone tell me if its normal to have some clots amongst AF? sorry to ask such a personal Q but I never noticed them before and there's a bit of me which wonders whether the possible lesions caused by the salmonella crossing from bowel to uterus might have caused ongoing problems. I'm afraid to go to my GP in case he thinks I'm just over worrying. Plus I still feel a bit hurt by fact he added 6 lines in his handwriting at end of typed letter to consultant warning that we were angry after losing Isaac (saw this letter when I went to PALS).I'm also expecting response from official complaint in next few days. Its still only four and half months since he died so know I have no chance of referral even though I'm 41 but could the salmonella have caused scaring / damage?

((((hugs))))))to anyone who needs one X

babyfettle · 22/08/2006 21:43

Hi RuthLouise - know what you mean about this thread. It's nice to have so many people on here, but shame it is for such a sad reason. But I do feel guilty when I can't remember what everyone has said or what stage they are at.

Anyway, if you're worried, I would certainly mention it to GP. Its your body, so you should know if things don't seem right to you. I noticed clots the 1st AF after 2nd ERCP, but nothing major. If anything, I've noticed my AF has got noticeably lighter since mc. I don't know if that could be because my cycles are shorter than they ever have been? Sorry - not much help to you though.

Shame your GP doesn't sound very supportive to you at such an upsetting time. I hope you get the answers you want from the complaint. [HUGS] to you too!

cece · 22/08/2006 23:26

ruthlouise

I always have clots in af and have done since I can remember but if there is a change for you then maybe it is worth mentioning to the doc. I ahve found since my mc that af is much heavier and also my cycle seems to be getting longer! It was 36 days this month

andi0411 · 23/08/2006 07:46

Morning ladies- wishing you all so much luck- I too find it hard to keep up s'times- with this thread- but I always read the last days comments and treasure it so much- I don't know what I'd do if i didn't have this web site!!

T4T---great news- congrats to you!!

Sky- is it cd28 now?- how's it going- ikwym re: pms symptoms- I'm only on cd23 and can feel the usual feelings... twinges, achey

Smole- I can't believe they won't just give you an early scan- aft my last mc the nurse in the epu said ' call me at 6 weeks with your next pg and we'll scan tou as a priority'. There's no consistency is there?

Rubles- sorry about your hassle- you're doing great..some of these medical people can't be bothered (although some are fab). You go girl!!

RuthL- I have always had clots in my af, but more since m/c- although my period has got lighter- from 5-6 daysto 3-4- hurrah!!

oinker · 23/08/2006 08:07

Rubles, how many consecutive m/c's have you had?
