time4tea · 24/10/2006 17:46

just popping back to wish you all well. Especially Oinker-the-wise, how are things? I had my 22 week scan today, all well, but those temping and b'ding days seem very recent. hoping that you all have good luck soon.
XXXX T4T

Janus · 24/10/2006 17:49

Andi, I have been tuning into this thread all day waiting for (what I hoped would be) a positive post, am so relieved! Sorry about the crash but just relax now.
Juicy, good luck for your scan tomorrow, tell us all about it!

babyfettle · 24/10/2006 18:43

Andi - I'm so so pleased for you [not for the accident obviously!] Take care and look after both of you!

Good luck tomorrow Juicy - fingers crossed for you.

Edie - I can't help on the hormone levels following an ERCP - I never really discussed it when I had my two, but I thought that by virtue of the fact that you were having an operation, you were assured that all pregnancy was removed, so your hormone levels should decline pretty quickly. I do hope that it is a more positive positive in a couple of days = good luck

Hope everyone else is ok - sorry must dash now!
BTW grapefruit juice is yuk!!! Better be worth it!

desperate2bmum · 24/10/2006 19:03

Yes good luck JL! I know you'll be fine. By the way, are you at the Royal London or are you Homerton? Will you have another scan at 12 weeks?

oinker · 25/10/2006 10:17

T4T.

Fantastic news.....

Andi......... Brilliant...
Like the others have suggested.. chill out.. feet up and enjoy some you time

oinker · 25/10/2006 10:19

I think I was a bit unclear about my appointment..
It's the 7th but not for the op it's just to see prof and to secure a referral for op..
They had better give me one otherwise there will be trouble !!!!!!!

d4phne · 25/10/2006 10:42

Good morning everybody,
sounds silly but this thread has been a life saver for me throughout the last two days. Thank you very much to you all. Well, I guess I am loosing my naivite, I had no idea what a lot of women go through and now I am one of them! I am still faint positive, didn't go one or the other way. Right now I would just like to know what's going on, either way, and blame myself that I tried right away and
am in a way responsible for this uncertainty that I now can't take. Problem is, DH lives in the US, so each b'ding involves an intercontinental flight...

Andy -- great news and sorry to hear about the acc

Edie -- I hope you have 'more positive' news

d4phne · 25/10/2006 10:45

Oh and just to show you how oblivious I am: It seems quite a few live in the greater London area. But isn't this an American webpage (there is no .co.uk. in the URL)? Do they automatically group people?

Uki · 25/10/2006 11:11

Hi All
Hi Daph, I know what you means my dh just called me a mn fanatic. I'm on here sometimes three times a day, I'm obsessed. It's the only place i feel understood and also feel like i can help others- although I love giving advice

ANDI- so sorry about the accident, what an absolute freak out for you, your forgiven for not posting earlier now. Seriously though rest up and So happy for you, dp and little bubs heartbeat.

Edie what's the latest????

Firstar- how are you?

I'm feeling weird- pscychologically traumatising myself as i'm sure i have sore tingly breasts, but i think i have these because i read that you can have sore breasts as a first sign even a few days after conception- so i think i'm willing it on, yep the 2ww is starting to become obsessive now.
mmm need a new hobby.

Juicylucythe2nd · 25/10/2006 11:41

Hi All,

Fab news at my scan. Little pod was moving around and kicking it's legs about with a big strong heartbeat. Feeling very happy today and just going to try and enjoy this feeling. Unfortunately pod wasn't feeling very photogenic, so no post of the photo

D4phne - mumsnet is a UK based website, but mums and wannabemums from all over the world post on here and are very welcome.

Uki · 25/10/2006 11:54

Hi Juicy Lucy
Forgot to say good luck before

Fantastic news -congrats on bouncy bean. You must feel a fair bit of relief now, so good luck now for a happy and relaxing pregnancy and birth.

Juicylucythe2nd · 25/10/2006 12:29

Hope so. Feel more confident now that it's made it to 9 weeks. Hopefully the 12wk will be just as much good news.

babyfettle · 25/10/2006 16:16

Fantastic news Juicy - try and relax and enjoy yorself now!

Edie, any further news?

edie123 · 25/10/2006 16:54

Did another test and like D4phne it showed the same as yesterday, a faint positive that showed after about 3 mins. Does anyone else think that it is a long time to be residual hormones after my mc? It happened at 5 weeks, was missed, seen at 10 week scan, and had op two weeks later which was about 5 weeks ago. Thinking that if the baby was only 5 weeks then there would not have been as much hormone than if it was older?...

d4phne · 25/10/2006 17:30

Hi Edie,
Hmm. I am not sure. I think that the hormone is produced by the placenta and for example in my case
there was never an embryo, but the placenta still produced hGC. I am wondering if I should call my GP, but think they would just say - wait and call again in 4 weeks if you're still +ve -- that comes from trying too soon. I guess the only way to be sure would be to see if our hGC levels rise or fall. If they are constant, maybe the ERPC wasn't complete and a part of the placenta is still producing ?
I think our only two options are a) wait and see or b) get two blood tests.

edie123 · 25/10/2006 17:37

I just left message for GP to ask if he can ring me tomorrow. I can't think that the hormones would still be there after 3 months?! It seems crazy. But then again, really don't want to get my hopes up-would be soooo disappointed. Do you have any symptoms? My boobs are getting a bit painful and I have AF cramps so not sure xx

d4phne · 25/10/2006 17:37

Hi Edie,
just found some more stories on this at:
www.pamsupport.org/pam.php?show=resources&data=Faq1&a=7

d4phne · 25/10/2006 17:51

No. no symptopms at all. Did anybody check your horomone levels atfer m/c? Some women seem to know them.

edie123 · 25/10/2006 17:52

Ive bookmarked it thanks D4phne!! Oh fingers crossed for us both. How positive were your tests? Mine are faint and showed after about 3 mins but of course could be testing too early as do not have a clue when AF is due!!

edie123 · 25/10/2006 17:53

Didn't have mine checked

rubles · 25/10/2006 18:40

I think if you are in private care, like in the US, they will check your blood hormone levels until they are under 5. In the UK it seems to vary - in my case my m/c was natural but a scan confirmed it complete. However I had to go in every week to do a urine pregnancy test until that had gone negative (took 4 weeks).
What happened with you two? Did they just scan you after the op? It seems to vary from hospital to hospital in the UK.

If you are pregnant then the hormone levels should be doubling every 48 hours, so the lines should be getting noticeably darker. If you are not pregnant then a call to the GP or the EPU clinic might be a good idea. I think that if there is a tiny bit of tissue left there, it might be producing just a bit of hGC which would be enough to show up on a pregnancy test. If that is the case then someone medical should know about it to be sure that you will be monitored if needs be.

JuicyLucy - really pleased that things are looking so good for you.

Will post more a bit later, I have to play with dd.
