Definitely try Uki. The stress won't make you miscarry. If they are strong and healthy you'll have to do a lot more to them than go to a conference. I would have thought the bigger worry would be that you will be feeling very rough at the conference.

Edie - know what you mean about the time, but that way of thinking only leads to panicking so try not to think how far you have come or how far you have yet to go....(oh hark at me!)

Uki · 12/10/2006 11:28

Well I admit I am a stress head and paranoid, but you know now you try to find a reason for your m/c I thought my last one was to do with stress of selling and moving house, and all the assorted problems.
Anyway next month is probably going to be 5 hardest working days of my life. Have 6 international guests have to be the driver, cook, house keeper, teach three classes and organize an educational conference for them, I have only one helper and so much to do before they get here. Anyway there are links to stress and m/c and if i'm already worried what will i be like then?????? sorry for hijacking

Rubles, that sounds like a really good appointment, to me it sounds like you have little to worry about and your time will come. Just one question, re the progesterone test, I'm meant to be going this Friday but that's day 26 of cycle, my cycle can be 28 to 32 days. Do you think you have to go on exactly day 21? My GP hasn't said anything.
I'm due anytime from Sunday onwards and looking for all those 'signs'. Yes, have sore boobs but had excruiating (sp?) boobs 2 months ago so that's nothing to go on. Even feeling slightly sick but thinking I had my multi-vitamin on an empty stomach and this can have the same affect. Fell asleep on the sofa at 10.00pm last night, but busy at the mo.
Does anyone else torment themselves looking for signs each month? Not going to do a test until Sunday or Monday.
Edie, I agree that I think when a baby is meant to happen you could go ski-ing, drinking, have stress, etc. I had horrific food poisining early in first pregnancy, sick constantly for 24 hours, convinced that would do damage, nothing. Second pregnancy got horribly drunk before realised pregnant, again, no damage. Just try and get through it, I'm sure you will be fine. Third time, no dramas, had a m/c, there you go.

Thanks
Janus, Rubles, Edie and firstar - I actually feel much better - You are right, Babies can survive if they are meant to be.
Count me in this month although I might have catching up to do!!!!

rubles · 12/10/2006 13:58

Janus, if you are due AF on Sunday then a progesterone test this Friday is definitely too late.
I asked this question of my GP and she didn't appear to understand what I was getting at, so not much help. I have since got it clear from other sources (including the consultant yesterday) that you should not test on day 21, but 7 days before AF is due, which could easily be different for you. If you test a bit later then the progesterone will be starting to go down (unless you are pregnant, that is). The cons said that was probably why mine was under 30 because I was 4 days before AF started, so a bit too late.

hi mums need advice had mc in aug normal p in sept now 7 days overdue this month but test was neg, any ideasX

Juicylucythe2nd · 12/10/2006 14:03

Rubles - yes I know

Just like keeping all my options open!!!

Janus - know what you mean re looking for signals - I'm still checking everyday that I still have some!! Role on the 12week scan. Maybe I'll actually believe I'm pregnant then.

Clumsy - Sorry about your mc

Your periods can take a while to settle down after an mc. My cycle changed from 28 to 14, 31 and 31 days and then I got a BFP.

Some people have a few erractic cycles before it settles down.

I think if I were you I'd wait until Monday then test again. How do you feel?

clumsy · 12/10/2006 14:18

run down sore chest the usual signs and i guess scared to death due to before i know plenty of mums have the nerves when they think they are preg after mc just not really sure how to deal mentally if i am x

edie123 · 12/10/2006 16:41

Thanks Rubles Firststar and Janus for the advice. I am quite proud of the changes that I/we have made this time around, (me cutting my hours at work and taking up exercise). However the rest is just going to happen naturally-no OPK's this time, or charting etc. Im still having the odd drop of wine, eating chocolate, doing all the other things I love. And although its natural to worry, I can't change what my body decides...good luck girls xx

Janus · 12/10/2006 16:53

Rubles, this is why I don't know when to test, my cycles last from 28 to 32 days. If I'm on a 32 day cycle that would mean testing on day 25, so Friday is probably fine. If I'm on a 28 day cycle then it would be too late, so don't know quite what to do. Think I will go anyway and then note what day AF arrives (or if!) and I can then use this if it is a 32 day cycle and then do it again next month if it is a short cycle month. Confusing! Thanks for clearing this up for me though, who needs a GP eh?!

rubles · 12/10/2006 18:08

I see. The best thing would be to know when you probably ovulated as then you should be able to calculate when af due from that, but if you don't know that then I can see the dilemma.

Janus · 12/10/2006 19:30

Rubles, I got the positive opk on cd13, seemed early to me but haven't done them for some months now. Do remember it used to be around cd16. I'm assuming now that this is going to be a short cycle month. A distant memory says your AF always comes 14 days after ovulation, is this right? If you get positive opk on cd13 do you take it that ovulation is actually on cd14 as the surge happens about 24 hours before ovulation? If so, really isn't worth the blood test this month. I should know more about this stuff by now!! Appreciate your help, good job someone's an expert!

babyfettle · 12/10/2006 22:43

Hi All

Thought I'd pop by quickly - off for the weekend for an extended family reunion, should be fun, but exhausting! I hope I'm home in time to light my candle at 7pm on Sunday though [mixed emotion emoticon]

FirstStar - sounds very hopeful, hope I come back to a BFP from you on Sunday evening!

JuicyLucy - glad to hear you still sounding positive - keep taking each day at a time.

Rubles - glad your appointment was reassuring - hope it all works out soon for you

Oinker - keep at it, not long to go now and you can eat something other than cabbage! I really admire you though - I'm feeling very overweight at the moment. Read a thread on the pregnancy section about SPD and remembered that I'd suffered really badly with it during my pg with DD, so I would think being 2 stone heavier now than then, isn't going to be helpful on preventing it next time around. Yet, I've still not had the motivation to lose weight these 4 months DH has been away. Lots of weight loss luck to you for the last few days of it all

Clumsy, Janus - sorry can't help with your questions, but good luck anyway.

Uki - go for it. I spent a year thinking it wasn't going to be the right time to get pg, to then take 10 months to conceive only to lose it at 9 weeks, so the gap between my DD and any sibling is getting larger by the day now. I wish I'd started sooner and realised that you will always sort your life out around things. I also agree with the others, if your beanie is meant to go on, it will be pretty resilient to external life factors.

Who else? Andi, Edie, Littlepolly, D2BM [oh help, I know I've forgotten someone, please forgive me, it's getting late] hope all is well with you all.

Take care all - 3 weeks before I'm back on the TTC wagon properly - yeah!!!

Hi all,

I can't keep up with you lot!! Am trying my best tho!!

i had positive opks on cd 19 and 20 and a negative today cd 21- but CP is still fertile so I think I am O today! anyway no temp rise yet so we'll see.

Janus- it depends on your Leutal Phase (sp?). I know for example that my temp always drop down at dpo 12 (if it does up I am pg- 2 pg show that). And af arrives on dpo 13... ovvasionally 14. I have a 12 day lp tho... I know that from charting for 2 years etc etc. HTH

Sorry no more personals- IL's here this w/e

I'll be thinking of you all on Sunday.

xx

Well, couldn't wait to test and got a BFN .
It's been a weird few days, I have to say I've been feeling sick nearly all day for about 3 days and my boobs are very sore. I think I secretly hoped that maybe I was but I've done a cheapy and an expensive test and both the same. Suppose AF will come at the weekend as predicted. Maybe I'm coming down with a virus which is why I feel so sick. Bloody body!!
