The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

My mate failed her driving test 7 times before she passed and on one test the examiner made her park, turn the engine off, took the keys and made her wait in the car while he walked back to the test centre to get her instructor!! She's now quite high up in the police and works in the helicopter division!

Seasides · 02/02/2014 10:31

I passed 3rd time, and only then coz it was Valentine's day and the examiner was in a good mood-technically I failed. In my 1st test I went through a red light in the first 100m! So no talk of failure around dodgy driving skills please. Or getting pg (though I'll admit to feeling the same on occasion. Feels a bit like I'm not working as a woman).

tanny, thinking of you too. Hope six weeks comes around quickly and ends with great news.

Not surprised you're getting hopes up English, sounds good!

Also, volley of prawns in my direction too please, for thinking I can taste metal at 4dpo...

Symptom spotting isn't currently a rule is it? Regardless, it is not good for mental health or stress levels so, prawns, fish fingers and a random bag of scampi tails coming your way seasides (really need to clear out our freezer!)

Psyching myself up for this afternoon. First mention of SILs pregnancy I am going to offer to go outside and play football with my nephew (I don't know how to play football). Must stay away from the drinks cabinet, must stay away from the drinks cabinet, must stay away from the drinks cabinet....

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 10:57

Good luck Parsley!

fedupofrainydays · 02/02/2014 11:04

I don't know how but I passed first time. Same day as my then boyfriend and he failed! Girl power! (He was v annoyed, a competitive sod)

Trying v hard not to symptom spot as mine are all the same post ov - sore boobs, increased cm, insomnia and tiredness. Ugh. Think am 12 dpo today. But not sure.

Good luck parsley. It's a fab day so get outside playing footie! (Or pretending too)

Seasides · 02/02/2014 11:10

Thanks parsley-good luck this afternoon. Hope your dad has a lovely day too.

Good luck Parsley, I'll be thinking of you. Spending the afternoon with my sister who has a baby and who last time I saw her joked that I was lucky to have had an mc after her baby puked on her shoulder. Deep breath!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 12:01

Penguin - oh my god that's awful! Some people clearly don't think!

Tadpole2013 · 02/02/2014 12:02

Hello ladies!
May I join, please? I haven't had such a laugh in a long time! Loved the 'hello bitches'! I have to watch that show.
If I may, my stats: Tadpole2013 42; TTC # 2. BFP June 11 2013 MC June 15 2013. Chemical September 2013. Two late AF arrivals since which had my head in a spin but sadly left the uterus very unimpressed.

TeaRex · 02/02/2014 12:32

Hope your day goes okay Parsley and thank you all for making me feel better about driving :) when all your friends have been driving for years/passed first time etc it does make you question yourself lol
also I'm sure I'll be needing it soon enough so how about fashioning some sort of seafood cannon? Obviously you'd have to stand yourself in front of something easy to clean like a shower curtain but could be a 'refreshing' change to the good ol slap?

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 12:52

Seafood cannon! Or a bazooka maybe!? I like it Grin

Right, time to get dressed (yes I am a slob) and get this show on the road. Thanks for the words of support ladies - chin up, tits out!

Luckystar1 · 02/02/2014 17:39

I need a fish slap. Af due on Wed (if following this new short cycle it has taken to following). Tested got BNF, not surprised, I wasn't even that upset. Just can't see this happening for me for a long time.

Not very positive thinking! Ahhhh! Must improve mind frame!

Seasides · 02/02/2014 17:49

I'm with you lucky - this month is unusual for symptom spotting again, I've kind of even given up doing that. But I've long felt a futility to it all, it's so hard to imagine it ever happening. Sorry, I'm not even un-positive, really - I know academically it will, somehow, happen at some point. It's just my emotions aren't on board. So, what I mean to say, very badly, is that the academia is right - it will happen again, and our emotions will get a big surprise when it does!

Fingers crossed sea I should be going on maternity leave soon, but I've got nothing except negative tests and a stressed out dh!

I know, deep down I know that it should happen, I just feel that no one takes me seriously about my worries because I'm 'only' 27 (and a hypochondriac!!!).

And mumsnet, while its great, also does add to the pain and jealousy when I see active threads of people moaning about pregnancies etc (which is totally their right of course!)

Handsfullandlovingit · 02/02/2014 18:37

Evening. We are having tith tonight, yum! I'm strangely chilled about my v early days bfp. I think the crunch will come at about 10 weeks, which is when last baby died. Will they be nice and give me an early scan? I'm going to freak out at the doctor tomorrow, I got a merit mark for my pretend crying in drama at school, perhaps I should give that a go?

parsley I hope you survived the day.

Seasides · 02/02/2014 20:19

lucky same here-all everyone says is 'you're young, you're healthy, it'll happen'. I know it's great we started ttc when I was relatively young, but dh is 12 years older than me. I feel I'm taken less seriously by docs.

So glad you're ok handsfull, excellent attitude. They should give you an early scan for sure. Enjoy the tith!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 20:31

Handsfull - have you got an EPU near you. They've said I can self refer if it ever happens again.

Luckystar1 · 02/02/2014 20:43

sea yes totally! I just worry that I'd it does happen, I'll just want to start trying for another immediately in case it takes this long again!

Well fingers crossed everyone's platitudes are actually correct and will come to fruition sooner rather than later!!

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 21:38

seasides ain't that the truth! In our world it's more 'matter over mind' rather than the opposite isn't it? lucky you're not alone in having those feelings of despondency, we all get them and I think it's just part of the MC grieving and trauma. We'll all get there ladies, and someone please remind me of this in approx 2 weeks when I'm wailing cos AF is here again!

Thanks everyone for kind words today, I survived the party. Of course SIL was lovely and not being a pg attention hog at all, I don't recall it being spoken about by anyone apart from with my sister, when they thought I wasn't listening! My mum was saying I probably should let the extended family know so they don't accidentally put a foot in it, but it's hardly announcement worthy news! I might ask her to spread the news for future ref.
Still, glad it's over. SILs bump is noticeable now, and I am still Envy beyond words. I miss my bean Sad

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 21:41

PS tadpole - welcome to the gang! I hope you're not with us for long. Whereabouts are you in your cycle at the mo?

Justonemoretime · 02/02/2014 22:10

Hello Ladies, I've taken on a rather bizarre mindset that it won't make any difference what I do, it will happen if its going to. Unfortunately this has extended to not really bothering with smep, only casually DTD when I feel like it. Now drinking wine. The chances seem so slim either way. secretly hoping this cavalier attitude will mean it does happen. Mindset totally f*cked up. Shock

Justonemoretime · 02/02/2014 22:14

Parsley, glad you got through the day ok. Difficult times.

fedupofrainydays · 03/02/2014 07:14

just there is a logic to it as that is the 'just relax' approach! And all 3 times I've been pregnant were when we just had sex a couple of times and were super stressed at work or on a boozy ski holiday so I'm a firm believer in less is more for us! Although I still insist on SMEP efforts but don't know why when it's never worked for us!!

Glad you survived parsely and the family were actually a bit surprising! Still tough though.

Right, 12/13 dpo today and feel but like I've got the flu. Def a preg symptom right? Slept for 10 hours and still feel rancid. No doubt af will rock up at same time as full blown flu in time for the weekend!
