Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

How are things progressing for you Sebsmummy?

Hi Virginia, Viperama and Patch welcome to the madness!

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 08:33

Oh Tranquility i am devastated for you Sad

My tests are pretty apparent still so i am not taking any chances, particularly since our stories are so similar. My early scanning unit won't accept self-referrals - ive just checked, so i have a GP appointment at 11.20 and am praying they take me seriously. Ive just cried all over my partner and Mother so im sure i will get in there and bawl.

spinningirl10 · 28/04/2014 08:49

Oh Tranquil, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Take good care of yourselfThanks

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 09:22

Just to update. I have had a 20 minute conversation with my alternative local hospital re. my symptoms and they are unconcerned and recommended i take Paracetamol!

stubbornstains · 28/04/2014 09:25

tranquility ((hugs)) xxx

KEGirlOnFire · 28/04/2014 09:27

On tranquil, I've just text you hun. I'm so so sorry that it has ended in this way. Sad Sad

Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to heal. xxxxx

Sebsmummy, I hope your appointment goes OK with the GP today. They will struggle to understand (kept telling me that I'd just got my dates wrong when I tried to tell them that I didn't get my BFP until AFTER my period), but please try and make them listen. Good luck. xx

Patch, welcome to our group. Sorry that you've joined us at a rather sad time but bear with us. Tell us a bit about yourself. Smile

KEGirlOnFire · 28/04/2014 09:28

Sebsmummy, some of them really just don't get it... Sad

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 09:30

I am thinking if my GP won't refer me I should pay for a private scan.

KEGirlOnFire · 28/04/2014 09:43

I would wait and see what your GP says today. They need to do blood tests first. Are you in any pain? At the first sign of pain, take yourself to A&E, they will HAVE to see you then.

Tranquilitybaby · 28/04/2014 11:07

That's rubbish seb my gp was v good and referred me straight there. My psin was one suded and terrible back pain too. Hope I haven't alarmed you just want to ensure all is ok. If kegirl hadn't advised me to test and told her story, if still be sitting at home wondering why I was in pain mid cycle x

Tranquilitybaby · 28/04/2014 11:08

Excuse the errors, iPhone fail! X

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/04/2014 11:49

Hi everyone.

So sorry tranquility, hope you mend well. How awful that it went this way, so sorry hon x

I have an update. My GP days in not pregnant. He did a test on a teaspoon of wee I managed to squeeze out and because the line was not as strong as the control he has said it ain't so. I did have a little look and I could see a faint line developing, do I don't think he is right. Maybe half right. I think it might have been a chemical and my body is just clinging into the hormone.

So I'm off to the hospital to have a blood test done and once again I feel like a silly cow as my GPs face was all Hmm

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/04/2014 12:16

Well done for persevering, it's is amazing how rubbish drs can be! I know they have to deal with all sorts but some are rotten at listening to their patients.

Hope you get some answers.

KEGirlOnFire · 28/04/2014 12:44

OMG Sebsmummy - I can't believe he said that - any bloody line is a line FGS!!! What is wrong with these GPs????!!!

Good on you for going off to the hospital. It's just not worth the risk hun.

It's been a very strange month on here...

I'm 1/2DPO now (think I OVd Saturday or yesterday) but only managed to DTD 3 times, CD9, CD11 and CD13.

So into the 2ww now. Not hopeful (although I've given up being hopeful over the last few months) so I'm trying to focus on DD's birthday party at the beginning of June and mine at the end of June.

Waves to Ginger!!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/04/2014 13:38

Hiya kegirl

Ah the dreaded 2ww, I feel your pain. The witch got me sat so at least my lp is getting longer. 3 dsys late tho so my imagination was going into over drive. Now waiting for referral to endocrinologist regarding prolactin levels. Don't think I can ovulate naturally or implant at current levels so feel like wasting time till that comes Sad

Has your dress arrived?

inshock how'd you get on? Guessing the witch got you too...

OP posts:
Inshock73 · 28/04/2014 13:56

Hi Ginger Yep the witch got me too also on Saturday. Had a 13/14 day LP this month as opposed to my usual 11/12 days so wondering if the acupuncture is having an effect. Had another needle session on saturday, have to admit I'm loving it, focus on saturday was to cleanse as it was day 1 of cycle, next appointment on day 12 to give OV a boost. Had a day 3 blood test this morn, hoping it comes back fine but at the same time I want to know why it's just not happening. Have you had the day 21 blood test? That one tells you whether you ovulated that month and whether your progesterone levels are higher enough to sustain a pregnancy.

Totally agree with you KEGirl everyone's having a tough month, my thoughts are still with you Tranquility and keep us posted Sebsmummy

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 16:11

Just an update girlies. Doctor rang back, meekly lol, to say I have hcg levels of 66 so we are assuming I had an early mc (his words). I'm having follow up bloods on Wednesday and Friday just to make sure things are going down not up.

Do assuming it was a chemical, why the hell is my body not letting any egg stick?

Inshock73 · 28/04/2014 16:37

Really sorry to hear that Sebsmummy xx Unfortunately the mc rate does go up with age, I know that won't be any comfort to you but I guess I'm just trying to say it doesn't mean your body is letting you down it just means the chances of mc are higher.

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 17:23

I am ok emotionally inshock. I'm so do glad I didn't get a positive hpt before I bled out, that would have really upset me, and yep you are right re. miscarriage levels being high at my age. Par for the course.

I have been learning so much so thought is update again so it can help people reading this.

I did a bit of research on ectopic just so I was more clued up re. the blood tests snd what the levels would possibly look like if they were looking that way.

I then rung the EPAU back to talk about my blood test results and how the one sided pain I started the day with was still there (very much could be Pilates related. She said that they could not scan until the hormones level reached 1000. So even if I was showing every sign of ectopic, if my levels were under 1000 they wouldn't do anything.

I said to her that what happens if I start to bleed the purple coloured blood they talk about. Would they still leave it? She said then they might get one of the gynaes to do a speculum examination and would go from there.

So it really does sound as though there is very little that they can or will do to be precautionary when it comes to ectopic. It seems that they generally just wait and wait and wait - I guess until you end up in A&E or the blood results give the go ahead to scan. I find it pretty frightening. I am just hoping my blood test goes down on Wednesday and we can get back to TTC.

mampam · 28/04/2014 17:52

So sorry Tranquility , thinking of you.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/04/2014 17:55

I'm so sorry it wasn't a sticky bean sebsmummy, I had similar in oct & also wonder why it didn't stick. I guess something wasn't quite right. You sound like you're coping brilliantly.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/04/2014 18:04

inshock I'm on month 5 of 6 of clomid to make me ovulate, 21 day bloods confirm prog ok but not great. It's the 21 day bloods that have shown the prolactin issue. So chuffed you feel you're getting something from the Accupuncure, whatever helps is worth a bash!

OP posts:
Fankletastic · 29/04/2014 09:25

Sorry to hear that Sebsmummy. It just shows that sometimes you really have to kick up a fuss to be taken seriously. It's really worrying that they can stand by and do nothing when you have something potentially very dangerous going on.

Ginger- sorry the fucker showed up. What were your prolactin levels if you don't mind me asking? I'm just looking at my day 21 results from a year ago and my prolactin was in normal range but towards the high side (452 when top range is 496). I'd sort of disregarded it but now wondering if this indicates a problem. Hmm

sebsmummy1 · 29/04/2014 10:05

I'm sorry you went through the same Ginger Sad

Once I'm out the other side of this I am going to go back to ask for my Progesterone levels to be tested (they refused this the first time) and if they say no again I'm going to ask for a referral to have it tested privately. If low levels of progesterone are preventing these eggs from sticking then I'm hoping I can get suppositories prescribed for the first trimester.
