Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Tranquility, thinking of you hun. I felt exactly as you did, confused, not quite sure what was happening. I hope your appointment goes Ok with the GP but unfortunately they won't be able to tell you much until 48 hours. They'll take some blood today and then again on Saturday (you may have to go to the EPU for that though unless your surgery is open on a Saturday).

Have you had anymore spotting? Mine was very on and off.

I'm sure that yours will be a different ending to mine though. FX for you hun.

xxxxxxxxxx

Fankletastic · 24/04/2014 11:46

Well this is all rather exciting! Fingers crossed for you Tranquility- hope your Dr can put your mind at ease and reassure you a bit that this is perfectly ok.

Why can't it just be simple, eh? All this worry is no good for us old bids!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/04/2014 12:53

Any up date tranquil?

How you doing fankle?

Fankletastic · 24/04/2014 13:07

So so Ginger. I think I'm 7dpo so halfway through the two weeks of torture. Don't know why I'm even bothering to count as think chance of success is even slimmer this cycle (due to DH being away for work most of last week).

How about you? Any symptoms? What day are you on?

KEgirl- did you post a link to the red dress? Maybe I missed that?

mampam · 24/04/2014 13:18

Tranquility good luck. My hpts were also quite faint to begin with, for at least a week or so before they started getting darker. Don't give up hope.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/04/2014 13:22

The 2ww is awful, it gets me every time. You're still in with a chance, just takes 1 wee swimmer.

I've had cramps & spotting for last few days so not too optimistic, been convinced I'm out several times now. However now a day late (first time since been on clomid). Don't want to test as hate seeing the bfn but boozy night out tomorrow so gonna have to. Gulp. And sore boobs, but not sure if that's because of Pilates ....

KEGirlOnFire · 24/04/2014 13:40

Go on Ginger, test, get it over and done with and then you can commiserate with boozing or celebrate with chocolate!!! Smile

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/04/2014 14:28

Every test I do it's a bfn then period seems to come within about an hour! It's uncanny. Don't want to but going to have to sigh....que dissapointment....

How you feeling mampam, any scan dates/preg stories etc to cheer us up with. Did you sort out midwife apt issues?

KEGirlOnFire · 24/04/2014 19:23

Ahhh sorry ginger, it's just shite isn't it... weirdly I was a dday late this month aswell - really annoying...

Nothing from tranquility?? I hope she's ok...

Inshock73 · 24/04/2014 19:43

Sorry Ginger :( although if Tranquility is anything to go by we could both still be in the running as AF hasn't made an appearance yet - I live in hope!!

Hope it's good news for Tranquility

Mampam very belated Congratulations! I've just seen you announced your good news when I was having a little break a few weeks ago.

Tranquilitybaby · 24/04/2014 19:52

What a day, I've just got back from the hospital and am more confused than ever.

GP sent me straight to the EPU at the hospital who did a urine dip test - positive. Firstly saw the ward sister who said it's obviously too early to be of already this month, 5 weeks would make more sense. Then Saw a gynae doctor who took bloods, gave me an internal to look for clots or polyps and took a swab. He noted some dark brown discharge, but my cervix is closed.

Waited hours for bloods to come back, as they didn't want me to go home and my hcg level was 108.9, which he referred to the consultant gynae who said it's in line with being just pregnant! How the hell can I be when I'm on cd13?! :( tried explaining that several times but he was adamant that I can't be more as had a bfn on 11/4, then a period.

I'm so confused and he doesn't want me to go back for a week to redo bloods then 48 hours after that.

I'm pretty sure 108 is far too low to be viable if I'm 5.5weeks and can't possibly have that high a number mid cycle!

Sigh....

mampam · 24/04/2014 19:58

Sorry Ginger, is it worth trying again tomorrow with fmu? I really feel awful tbh. Think I'm bordering on Hyperemesis (had it last time too). Everything smells disgusting and tastes disgusting too which doesn't help with the sickness.
Have had my booking appt where the mw rushed through everything, (luckily childrens centre was closed as Easter Hols so didn't have to sign in) but did tell me I ought to join SW or see a nutritionist as I'm overweight! I politely said I wasn't going to do that.....it's the last thing on my mind when I feel like total sh*t. Dating scan is 2 weeks tomorrow, I'll be 13 weeks.
Sorry no real cheerful stories to tell.

Inshock thank you Smile

Tranquilitybaby · 24/04/2014 20:02

ginger oh I'm so sorry to hear that but don't give up hope just yet.

manpam sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish, hope things improve very soon. I felt better from 16 weeks. X
Do you happen to know what your hcg levels were? X

mampam · 24/04/2014 20:03

Very confusing T I guess it's waiting game, shame they couldn't put your mind at ease. Big hugs xx

Inshock73 · 24/04/2014 20:06

Oh Tranquility how annoying, as I mentioned previously my MIL had normal periods for the first 3 months of both her pregnancies and was shocked when she found out she was pregnant both times. I hope you're able to take it easy for the next week or two.

mampam · 24/04/2014 20:06

Sorry no never had any blood tests but did loads of tests before they started getting darker.

stubbornstains · 24/04/2014 20:10

Oh goodness, how exciting/ scary for you Tranquility. You know, there are oodles of stories on here about how women started their pregnancy with AF and then went on to have a healthy baby.

(God, all this talk is freaking me out- yes I've had weird symptoms this month, but I tested and was BFN. I drank a LOT of wine last week. I am NOT mysteriously pregnant).

I kind of spiked DP with my urine when I tested Shock. I decided to do a test in the middle of the night, accidentally did a wee without thinking about it whilst I was sitting on the loo pondering the test, then woke up again a couple of hours later with just enough wee to give it another go.

So, I decided to wee into something, but my foggy 5am brain couldn't find anything except my (appropriately yellow) coffee cup. "Fine", I thought, "that's MY coffee cup. No one else uses it". So I did, tested BFN, gave the cup a v. quick rinse, and left it sitting on the side.

Now, DP angelically gets up with DS (who is not his DS) nearly every weekend morning, allowing me to have a lie in, and then brings me a coffee about 10-ish- in my yellow cup. Later that day, I told him what had happened and said "Ha ha, it's just as well nobody else uses that cup eh?!"........Cue a certain pause, before he said...."But I do! Every morning before I bring you your coffee I make one and drink it from your cup to save washing up".

Never has there been such savage karmic retribution for using WHAT IS CLEARLY SOMEONE ELSE'S MUG. Grin

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/04/2014 20:27

stubborn pmsl! Grin oh that story has really cheered me up thanks.

t how very confusing for you, not sure what to say. Can't imagine how hard it is that you need to wait another week. Not sure if this will help but I ov on cd15 in October, got my period 3 days later, dr advised doing a test which was positive for a couple of days. Was early mc so it IS possible to be preg so quickly. The bleeding for me was after ov NOT before like you so doesn't sound to me like the same thing.yours sounds like a very early positive!

mampam I really hope you start to feel better soon, guess we forget that the bfp is the beginning rather than the end of this journey. Keep us up dated, loving hearing a happy old bird story. Can't believe your 11 weeks already!

stubbornstains · 24/04/2014 20:28

Sorry tranquility, x- posted there.

Is there any chance you ov'ed later than you thought?

I guess you'll be doing a lot of HPTs over the next week? Fingers crossed...
