Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

It's became a bit of a mantra for me & really does help when I get a bfn. We will do it ladies, it's just a matter of when! Xx

Happy Easter ladies!

I'm 5dpo today counting the days :)

Inshock73 · 20/04/2014 18:25

Hi everyone! Sending you all a wave :)

Hope everyone is having a good Easter. I've eaten 3 easter eggs in 3 days...I'm not proud I'm just confessing :)

I'm still not symptom spotting Ginger although I will be amazed if it's my month as I've gone back to coffee this month, had several alcoholic drinks and way too much chocolate..... it's been liberating! I don't feel half as stressed about it but I think it's because I don't feel like it's another month I've put my life on hold whilst waiting for a bfp. I only drink 3/4 coffees and a couple of units a week but I gave everything up.

Ginger do we now have 3 bfp's on this thread??

Inshock73 · 20/04/2014 18:34

Spinning and Ginger it's so good to hear you share your frustrations with the men folk, I thought it was just my one that gets freaked out under pressure! Performing wasn't a problem, but then as each month came and went and still no bfp OH wanted to know when we 'needed' to do it so I started telling him and it was the best contraception I could've wished for! Or as my friend put it "You'll never get pregnant if he leaves the church before the choir sings!" so I'm back to not telling him again.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/04/2014 11:58

inshock sounds like relaxing your regime has most def been the right move. Life has got to go on & most importantly be enjoyed otherwise we will all go mental (or more mental in my case!).

Think we may have had 4 as purple also got a bfp but very sadly had m/c. purple if you're lurking, how you doing girl? tawdry was gonna confirm with a digi but didn't come back, so think it's been 4. Which is 1 a month, not too shabby for the old birds!

I do feel sorry for the menfolk in this, if I had to orgasm on demand when we Dtd we'd never get preg! I worry the toll it's taking on our sex life. I used to have a very high sex drive but now we pretty much only DTdwhen ttc, not healthy....

So who of us has ate the most Easter eggs, I'm impressed with your 3, we've booked a hol for 24th may so I've only had 1.

spinningirl10 · 21/04/2014 15:51

Inshock...I've tried not telling dp before but that doesn't work either! He likes to be the one initiate any fun and if I make the first move he knows its that time Grin

No Easter eggs for me.....I try and avoid chocolate unless its Lindt 90% but dp came home yesterday with a huge box of Thorntons choccies for me! I wasn't going to open them but I did and now there's only half a box left!! They were yummy though Grin

Tranquilitybaby · 21/04/2014 17:38

Hi girlies hope you've had a good Easter break.

I've eaten far too much over the Easter holidays but back to strict diet from Weds (out for a friends birthday tomorrow.

On Cycle day 8 and no AF is done, we're back on it from tonight. Think i'm lucky as have a DH with a high sex drive so he'd be happy to do it every day!! So not sure whether to go for it or stick to every other day for a while. X

This is going to be our month girls, we can do this!! X

Tranquilitybaby · 21/04/2014 17:39

Oh and thanks for asking about my dad. His back hadn't degenerated anymore thankfully but they're still recommending a major op which he doesn't want to have.

My mum however was back at the hospital yesterday with blood in her urine. Home now though thankfully xx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/04/2014 18:55

Arghhhhh! Blood spotting started, AF due wed, was gonna test thurs if no show but....nope.... Spotting 2 days before, right on cue. Ffs!

Hello all,

I've just joined here and I am a wee bitty nervous, so bear with me!

I'm 36 and got married in March 2013 and had my contraceptive implant removed in November 2013. So far, no luck, but I'm not wanting to get too hung up on trying to produce offspring because I don't want either of us to feel pressurised and stop enjoying the baby making thang.

I am a mum to 2 my 2 cats, who are my furry children. However, this will be my first child from the womb-route with only 2 legs and limited hair!

Would be nice to get to know others who are in a similar position. I really don't know where to start on here - there are so many threads!

Take care all,

CC123 x

Tranquilitybaby · 21/04/2014 21:48

Pinks ok, still in with a chance ginger
Hi carrot welcome to our little group. Best way is to stay reasonably relaxed about TTC if you can. Good luck xx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/04/2014 21:53

Welcome carrot you've came to the right place.

Cheers tranquility sadly 95% sure it's af.

How's everyone else doing?

spinningirl10 · 21/04/2014 21:55

Welcome carrot Grin

Oh Ginger, hope it's not af!

Do any of you take any vitamins? I'm taking folic acid but was reading that evening primrose and cod liver oil can be good for the older lady when trying to conceive.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/04/2014 22:53

Yeah I take a conception multi vit and epo up till ov (plus my cloud day 2-6, 2 months left)

Fankletastic · 22/04/2014 09:24

Hey ladies

Ginger- sorry to hear you've started spotting. Still keeping fingers crossed for you though. I guess we aren't cycle buddies anymore as I think I ovulated on Thursday..so only 5 dpo now. My cycle is a bit random- sometimes 29 days, sometimes 33! Not enough of a variation to be classed as irregular though.

Hi to the newbies. Carrot cake- I agree with the other ladies that it's good to stay relaxed, but I would also think about making an appointment with your gp if you've tried unsuccessfully for 6 months and you're over 35. I recently turned 35 but been ttc #1 since the age of 32, with a miscarriage over 2 years ago. The tests can take a long time on the NHS and then waiting for referrals...i will have been in the NHS system for about 18 months by the time I get my first appointment at the assisted conception unit in June, at which point I hope it will be straight to iui.

Inshock73 · 22/04/2014 09:36

Morning all! :)

Oh Ginger hope the bitch takes off and leaves you alone!

Spinning my OH seems to have decided (by himself!) we need to do it every other day throughout the whole month...I'm beginning to think he's taking advantage of the situation now :) As for pre-natal I've been taking Seven Seas Trying for a Baby for a few months.

Loving your positivity Tranquility :) there are several of us long serving ladies on here now who deserve a bfp! I include you in that Ginger

Welcome Carrot we're a very supportive bunch on here.

Fankle that's such a long time to wait isn't it. I'm thinking of trying IVF but will need to self fund and it will cost about £6k per cycle...gulp!

sebsmummy1 · 22/04/2014 09:47

Hi girls. I'm a regular over on the TTC after mc thread but was hoping for a bit of advice for those of you that are nudging forty like myself. I have one son whom I conceived easily at 37, but now seem to have secondary infertility unfortunately.

We have been trying ever since my son was 6 months old, conceived in January but MCed at 6 weeks. I have just finished my third AF which have pretty much gone back to normal.

Anyhow my question is the timing of sex. We were just packing in as much sex as we could over the fertile window but I'm now questioning this approach. It stands to reason that at 42 OH may not have the sperm count he once had so do you think we would be better off sticking to every other day across the fertile window?
