Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Fingers crossed for you Tranquility

Grin Grin Grin at the new clothes Katniss and hope your day at work is ok??

I will stick around on this thread if that's ok? I find the ante-natal threads way to fast paced. Feeling fine thanks, nauseous feelings have gotten less and less (which I know is the lull before the storm as I've been horrendously sick with the others) and pains not as bad. The only thing is that I look really bloated but hopefully no one will notice on my already chubby belly Grin

Katnisscupcake · 17/03/2014 14:02

I looked very PG at 12 weeks with DD Mampam, but my tummy was solid/bloated. It was really odd!!

I hope you don't get too sick... x

Tranquilitybaby · 17/03/2014 14:31

AF arrived this morning, so onto next week when I should ovulate (around CD10). Was v unlikely this month anyway so not too upset by it.

The advice seems to change all the time but is it right now that DH shouldn't abstain throughout AF time. The advice used to be he should to increase sperm count. I feel out of tough! It's been 10 years since I was last pregnant! X

Katnisscupcake · 17/03/2014 16:46

Sorry Tranquility - although you're showing me up by not being a drama queen about it like I was!! Wink

The advice from the fertility consultant was to abstain for 3 days prior to starting TTC for the month. So he should be Ok for now, but if you are going to DTD from CD7 for example, he should abstain from CD4 to allow three days worth of sperm to build up.

We've been DTD from CD8 in previous months but I think I just run out of steam because it's too far from OV for me (I usually OV between CD14-15) so I think this month I will recommend that he abstains from CD7 and then we'll start from CD10 and do CD10, CD12 then CD13, CD14 and CD15. Anything before CD10 will be wasted offerings!!! LOL

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/03/2014 18:42

tranquility, sorry, maybe it's Xmas babies all round x

Tranquilitybaby · 17/03/2014 20:35

Not even counting it as first month of trying though so although a teeny bit disappointed, I think you are way more entitled to be p'd off than me katniss.

Thanks gingerbreadlady1* , didn't think if day but actually a Christmas bubba would be lovely actually. Who's having Holly and who's having Ivy? Lol x

Fankletastic · 17/03/2014 21:19

Lol! I'll take a Christmas baby thanks

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/03/2014 21:29

Ill have little Noel, or maybe Holly!

OP posts:
Tranquilitybaby · 17/03/2014 22:21

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/03/2014 22:38

TawdryTatou · 18/03/2014 07:09

Getting AF symptoms Hmm

I know it's only the first month, but it's come as a shock. Got pg first try both times with the dc I already have. Weird to have evidence that I'm not as young as I feel.

Hmm
Katnisscupcake · 18/03/2014 09:09

Ahhh Tawdry, don't worry if the witch turns up, have a big glass of wine and crack on with next month. We're all here with you hun. xx

See, I heard a name on here recently that I'd never thought of (even though it's a character in one of my favourite TV programmes) and if I have a boy, that's the name I'm going for.

Ezra.

I have a sister whose birthday is 23rd December and her middle name is Holly.

I imagine any child of mine born around Xmas will be gutted that their big sister has a Summer June birthday. But I would probably do a party/barbecue for the other one in the Summer at some point aswell...

Anyway, this is all pie in the sky considering I'm not actually PG!! LOL Smile

Gingerbreadlady1 · 18/03/2014 11:41

Aww, I enjoyed reading your plans katniss, loving the name Ezra, really unusual.

I've/we've got a bit of a red wine hang over this morning. Didn't even drink that much. A bottle between us plus a vodka. Know I prob shouldn't as ovulating but it's month 19! 19!!! Wtf! So life has got to go on. Still, doing well on dtd marathon. Sat, sun, mon, tue all done Smile. Pos opk sun, mon & not checked yet today. Think we're getting a double dunt this month and ov from each ovary so double the chance yippee!

OP posts:
mampam · 18/03/2014 16:41

Bloody hell Ginger your DH must be shattered Grin Double ovulation......chance of twins? Smile Hmmmmm red wine oh well you can have my share although I think I'll still have odd small glass along the way!

Ezra ....lovely name. Fx for those Christmas babies.

Survived job interview but know I won't get the job. The activity I had to do went much better than I thought as I was dreading it. The interview was awful but at least I'll know what to expect next time.

Katnisscupcake · 18/03/2014 17:22

Evening all,

Well I took an OV test today just in case, luckily negative but I am only CD4. I was just a bit concerned that because I OVd late last month, that I might OV early this month and don't want to miss it!! Smile

I think I'd like to have a Xmas baby because I love Xmas - but if my cycle works as normal then it should be early December, which I would prefer.

Almost seems crazy to be talking about it - but hey ho!! Smile

How are you feeling Mampam.

Good luck Ginger with the double OV!!! Grin

mampam · 18/03/2014 17:54

Yes early December sounds perfect Katniss and in the future for birthdays you can get them sorted and then put the Chrimbo decorations up after Smile

I'm feeling fairly good at the moment despite a cold and sore throat. Boobs have started feeling like they are on fire now and I'd say that's pretty much the only symptom. I estimate 3 weeks before the sickness kicks in.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 18/03/2014 21:33

Evening all! Yes, other half is a broken man lol! Got pos opk again today, when for the love of god, can we stop Dtd? I'm thinking tomorrow?

mampam sounds like the interview went ok, you may just get offered it..

Thanks katnis, we've given it our all this month, both are off work which has helped. Fx'ed. If you ov late last month, you not more likely to ov late again this month?

OP posts:
KEGirlOnFire · 19/03/2014 08:11

Morning all,

Katniss here with a NC!!

I doubt it Ginger. I only OVd late because I was ill but I was thinking that if I OVd from one ovary last month, the other one may not have realized that I'd OVd late so may try and release an egg when it thinks it should, in line with when I should have OVd last month - IYSWIM...

Unless I'm ill again, I imagine that I will OV around CD14-15 like I normally do - FX!!

Is your +OPK line LOADS darker than the other line??? It's very unusual to have so many +OPKs...

The only way to really tell is if you start temping because the day after OV your temp will shoot up by around .4 degrees.

Mampam, if you get the job (and you may well!!), it was meant to be and you should take it. At least (all being well) you'll be able to stay in the role for the 6 months that you need to be in it to be able to claim maternity leave pay!! Smile

mampam · 19/03/2014 16:51

OMG! The interview was hideous and I didn't get the job!! You know when you wake up in the morning and you can just feel in your gut the outcome of your day? To start with I'd dreamed that the activity I had to do with the children went hideously wrong, then the car wouldn't start when I was leaving...managed to fix it then it conked out on the way and had to fix it again. I took my coat off when they offered me a seat and a comment was made like "that's it get comfortable before you go downstairs" and I kind of thought they were being a bit sarcastic like I shouldn't have taken off my coat and it put me off. So you live and learn and tbh I was dreading having to keep the pregnancy a secret and pretending not to have known when I got offered the job so every cloud and all that.............Hmm

Only thing is now where I work on my student placement there is a woman who will be on mat leave as of September and I think they are going to ask me to cover Hmm I'll just have to go along with it for a couple of months and there will be plenty of time for them to find cover before September.

What does lots of +OPK's mean Katniss KEGirl and dark lines too???? Sorry bit naive about these things Blush

KEGirlOnFire · 19/03/2014 17:34

Oh sorry Mampam, but like you say, no stress about keeping quiet about the PG now! Smile

With OPKs they're very different to HPTs. With an OPK it is only a positive result if it is as dark or darker than the control line. Whereas with a pregnancy test any line (test line obviously) is a positive.

With some OPKs the result can look dark, but not quite as dark as the control line so it's still a negative. I've had a very dark line (very close to the control line) one day, one darker than the control line the next day and then a very dark one but not quite as dark, the day after. So only the one on the 2nd day was a REAL positive, IYSWIM...

It's probably easier to use the CB ones that actually give you a Smiley Face when they're positive, but they're soooo expensive!!

Hope that helps hun!! Grin

mampam · 19/03/2014 20:26

Oh I see now, sounds bloody confusing though Grin best to do Ginger's plan I guess and just bonk as much as possible! Smile

Gingerbreadlady1 · 19/03/2014 21:39

Well pointed out kegirl (why name change? Liked katniss). It was lighter on tue, forgot about that. I'd say it was same or darker sun/mon so prob caught it on way up & on way down.

mampam sorry about job but at least life is a little simpler plus it gave you some interview experience which is always good.

How's everyone doing? Anyone poas soon?

OP posts:
Tranquilitybaby · 19/03/2014 22:36

Hello sorry been AWOL - life got in the way.

mampam sorry it didn't go well bit hey maybe it wasn't meant to be if you were worried.

kegirl why the change? Hope you're ok. I liked katniss lol x

In the midst of of AF here, so will hopefully OV next week. I'm not doing OPKs at the moment, will just go with the flow as I get be obvious OV signs. Does anyone else?

KEGirlOnFire · 20/03/2014 09:08

Morning all,

So, the reason for the name change is that someone started a thread about cakes and whether people wanted to put pics of their cakes up that they'd done. So I put some up and then realised that they were easily recognisable by people in RL who know me... so I thought I'd better do a quick NC.

Anyone who is a fan of 'The Hunger Games' books/films will understand the name change Wink.

Yes Tranquility, I get the obvious signs too, but I like to pinpoint the exact day (for me I always OV within 12 hours of a +OPK) because I don't get a lot of time once I get a positive. So I monitor regularly to see the line getting darker and darker because once the positive comes, I'm pretty much out!! This month, DH was going out on the Saturday night and so when I got the Positive on the Friday, we only had the Friday night to DTD. It's a pain in the arse to be frank - LOL!!

CD6 here so may make our first attempt on Sunday. Need to text DH and tell him to refrain for 'personal enjoyment' between now and then Grin.

Ginger, you must be looking forward to the rest now - and your DP!!! Smile
