So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

happy birthday kt! hope you had a lovely day Thanks

Metalhead · 15/01/2014 21:38

Haha ATruth - you might have missed my announcement amid all the festive cheer, I got my BFP on New Years Eve!

Kt happy birthday! Hope you had some nice lunch with your mum. I had a lot of cramps too for the first two weeks, now they're just every few days. But my boobs are really painful, I'm knackered and nausea is also ramping up (though it's more afternoon and evening sickness, mornings seem to be alright!). Oh, and I'm freezing all the time and weeing a lot... so I guess that's quite a few symptoms. I wouldn't worry though, I'm sure you'll feel suitably awful soon enough! Wink

Lucy hope you manage to dtd tonight, but don't beat yourself up about not doing it yesterday - I seriously doubt that this will have affected your chances this cycle.

HungryHorace · 15/01/2014 22:12

Happy birthday, Kt! :-)

My boobs are only sore if pressed. Shame DD is obsessed with squashing them. Sigh. They're also HUGE!

Lucy, work refused my request, so I'm now appealing. So much fun. Not!

Cheapie OPKs are a nightmare. I find them so hard to do properly.

ChineseFireball · 15/01/2014 23:06

Happy birthday Kt, and congratulations monster! Lovely news!

My stats: chinesefireball - ttc#2 cycle 2 bfp due around 28 jan.

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 04:59

Lucy - I have no idea if I am using them correctly. Following instructions really and thought this was right. Starting to think that maybe I am doing it wrong (although last time when I got pg I used this Opk which indicated when I was Ov and I then managed to get pg).
Anyway, none of the pharmacies close to where I work has got the digital opk so I have to look somewhere else but since I am stuck at work this wont be until the weekend:( My left ovary is hurting a bit this morning so I am hoping this is a good sign. Will dtd tonight (if DH is up for it) and possibly tomorrow as well. I am going to email my gyno this morning. I just want to find out about the eggs, ie as he saw and measured the eggs does that mean that I will Ov this month or can it still skip a month. Will let you know what he says.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Kt - Hope you got thoroughly spoilt!

This is why I love private health care (not that we have a choice of anything else here). I emailed my gyno this morning and already received a response. This is what he said:

^I remember clearly seeing a large, what appeared to be dominant follicle in your left ovary.
There are some cycles when those large follicles do not ovulate, we are not certain of the reason. In your case I expect that you will ovulate or did ovulate just a little later than expected.

I would not worry about it too much.

A cycle where no ovulation takes place will not be followed by a normal period.^

So, it seems that even if there are eggs, one necessarily does not ovulate. Glad he answered my question but now not sure at all if and when I will Ov. Ah well, I will dtd as planned and hope for the best. Maybe next cycle will be more certain.

claudeekishi · 16/01/2014 07:08

That's an amazing response swede! Glad you have some facts, even if they're frustrating at the mo.

Chinese - af/bfp due here on 27th, and it's cycle 2 for me too. Not overly hopeful but it's very early days I guess.

HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 07:29

That's really good to get a speedy response.

I'd say it's looking good for later OV if he saw the follicle in the left and you're aching on the left. Just have to keep DTD. :-)

I really hope it works out for you this cycle.

Metalhead · 16/01/2014 08:13

You can't beat private healthcare for speed!

I think this is probably what happened with my last WTF cycle Swede, I had all the usual ov symptoms at the right time but then something (probably stress) must have stopped the process and so I only ov'd 2 months late. Not saying that this will happen to you here, just so you know that even if you do ov really late you can still get a BFP if you dtd at the right time! So I'd keep going with the opks until you get a positive.

I feel awful today, DD woke at 5.45am this morning for a poo, then DH got up at 6.15 to go to work, and just as I'd managed to drop off again it was time for me to get up! This is going to be a very loooong day...

Sorry about your work Hungry, that's rubbish! When do you have to go back?

utopian99 · 16/01/2014 08:14

Happy birthday for yesterday kt!

Sorry I've been gone for ages again but I clearly wasn't getting anywhere with no af while still bf O. As of Sunday he is now fully weaned (and seems happy about it so I don't feel too bad,) so hopefully I either have af or a bfp within the next 6 weeks. Asked the health visitor who said if not by then to get the doctor to have a check.

We're going to stop trying mid Feb to end of march anyway though so as to miss O's birthday and Christmas - I'm so pissed off with my stupid body for this. I know loads of people who are now pg and still feeding. [argh]

utopian99 · 16/01/2014 08:15

Meant Angry

Sorry for the meneme post though, and huge congratulations to the bfps I've seen so far!

HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 08:28

Metalhead, I go back on 6th March, for 31.5 days, of which I'll be on leave for 5 days.

So it's not for long, but it's the principle of the thing. They're being arses. But as they've got the procedure wrong I'll be going to ACAS at the end and making their lives awkward!

Utopian, fx for you now O is fully weaned. Good luck! Are you using OPKs or just going for it?

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 08:48

Thanks Hungry - Yes I am hoping that he is right and that I might be Ov late. My left one is still hurting (not a lot but light twinges) and I also have cm today which I have not had previously this month. Fingers crossed.

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 10:39

Determination pays off, I found a digi Ov test. Just did one but did not get a smiley so I guess that answers that particular question. My ovaries are still twinging though so hopefully it is on its way...

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 10:45

Yay! Hopefully tomorrow morning you'll get a smiley :-)

My aching used to ramp up the day before my smiley. Fingers crossed!

Are the digi tests hideously expensive for you?

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 11:30

For SA it is quite expensive. A seven day kit cost me R225 which is about 12 pounds 50 pence. I think it is worth it though as its more accurate and less hassle to do. How much are they in the UK?

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 12:05

I paid £60 for 40, which was from Amazon. In the shops they're £16 for 7, so dearer than SA. That surprises me a bit.

I think it's worth the money too. Can't misread a smiley!

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 12:38

That is strange indeed, that they are more expensive in the UK. Anyway, yes I definitely think it is worth it. Very tired of trying to see a line (when there isn't one to see). Hoping for a smiley tomorrow.

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 12:41

I've never had what the packet calls a positive with an IC OPK. I've had a few smiley faces though. :-)

Fx for tomorrow!

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 13:37

At the moment I am feeling rather odd down below. It's like serious pressure on my uterus, as if my AF is about to start. WTF is going on with me??

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 13:39

How strange. :-/ I know the first cycle post-MC is often referred to as a WTF cycle, for good reason by the look of it.

All you can do is keep going and see what happens, but I know that that's easier said than done.

SwedeAway · 16/01/2014 15:31

I am starting to see what they mean by WTF cycle. Having a glass of Wine and feeling a bit sorry for myself.

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 16/01/2014 16:19

Ah, Swede. :-(

donnas1984 · 16/01/2014 19:06

Ah Swede sorry your feeling down Wine Biscuit should help xx
I handed in my notice today to start mat leave leaving easter weekend so 13 weeks to go! Finishing at 32&1/2 weeks can't wait!
How's everyone doing wjos next to poas? xx

FlightofFancy · 16/01/2014 20:17

Hi all. How exciting to get a BFP on the thread already.
Swede, sorry you're feeling rubbish - fingers crossed everything sorts itself out for you.

Can you wise people talk to me about OPK please. Didn't use them with DS as got pregnant 3rd cycle. Having read about people here using them have bought some, but just the cheapie ones. Wasnt sure about timings as have been having odd cycles since coming off the pill at the end August - short but period happening almost in 2 bits, a few days spotting, a day off and then a couple of days of proper bleeding. Anyway, from no line at all on opk stick, got a faint line on Monday, then stronger on tues but still definitely not positive, but then yesterday and today back to no line. Is this it? Possible am not doing test properly as don't have time to faff around waiting for wee to be room temp etc. Timings fit with what app suggests for ov.

Dtd on Sunday but haven't since ashas been crappy week for work etc. so guess if that was it have missed out this month as next chance to dtd will be Saturday...

Starting to get a bit downhearted as was so easy last time that had false expectations!
