So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 14:54

I just want Monday over with to be honest! Then hopefully I can relax a bit. :-)

Lucy, I had a bad feeling about it too, if you remember, bad it was unfounded. You'll get there. xx

I just did my final OPK as HPT and the line was still super dark super quick, so hopefully that's positive news!

Do you have a boy's name ready, Donna? We will use the one we chose before, if it's a boy. Need to have discussions for a girl's name. God, if it's twins we need two names!! :-/

HazyShadeOfWinter · 22/01/2014 15:08

Wow I had no idea this thread had so many BFPs and pregnancies - glad I joined now!

donna love the thought of a yawn, like he was bored of being proded.

May I ask another newbie question? If you are EODing, are you meant to EOD all cycle long? Ie from end of AF to start of next? How would one manage that? [exhuasted emoticon] Or just around expected OV?

My AF is now overdue according to both of the apps on my phone, but I have a long and irregular cycle so trying not to hope too much. Think if AF hasn't arrived I will POAS on Sunday - by then AF would be nearly a week late.

When I was younger and had the odd pregnancy scare POAS always seemed to make AF arrive the next day so at least if it is a BFN it might help get my next cycle underway so we can get stuck in.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 15:45

Sperm meets egg plan (SMEP) suggests EOD from CD8 til positive OPK, then the next 3 days, day's rest, then one more day. But EOD from the beginning of your fertile period until you're certain OV has been and gone should do.

DTD prior to OV is preferable, so sperm is waiting for eggy!! :-)

LucyJoJo · 22/01/2014 16:17

Ah Hungry, I can understand what you mean about wanting it to be over, I am sure everything will be ok for you though, and you will be able to get excited about it and relax a bit more, and leave your poor DH alone! Grin Will you tell your mum after the scan?
Hazy there have been lots of bfps! We had quite a few in a row at one point, and lots that came after just coming off contraception so hopefully this really is a lucky thread!! I would probably say EOD until you know for sure ov is well and truly over too. Are you planning to or are you already using opks?
Would you like to join my POAS party on saturday!? Grin

Gosh I hadn't realised SPD was such a common condition, if this is what I have it's bloody horrendous! My sympathy goes out to anyone who has had this before. Is it likely you'll get it again? My boss has asked me if this means I'll not want to go through all this again. I told him not to worry and that I never had any intention of having more than 2 pregnancies!

The consensus seems to be to get it seen to before it gets unbearable. Seeing as I want to carry on working full time til 38 weeks I need to get this dealt with or I might find myself signed off. So I spoke to mw who said I need to see GP and say that she's recommended a referral for physio at the local hospital (not the local physio centre which isn't as good apparently), so I'm off to the GP now.

I flipping well love my mw, she's brilliant! I'm so lucky to have her looking after me again - she has a little fan club, I remember meeting a fellow pregnant lady at a party last time and it turned out she had the same mw, we spent ages talking about how brilliant she is. When I go to the maternity unit at hospital the staff often comment how lucky I am to have her as my mw too!

Sorry this is all a bit me me me. Hope you're all having a better day than me!

donnas1984 · 22/01/2014 17:16

windy my gp has referred me for physio as I have bilateral sciatica ive to go to thr mat unit on Tuesday so dont delay! she was very lovely and prescribed me ranitidine for my heartburn.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 17:38

I'll never leave poor DH alone! :-)

And yes, we were discussing it today. I'll email the scan photo to her and ask her to call me once she's digested its contents!

She's a bit wonky at the moment, so I don't think springing it on her on the phone is a great idea as she won't have time to compose a response :-)

I'm glad you're getting sorted, Windy. Much better to do it now.

Windywinston · 22/01/2014 19:52

Donna I'm sorry you're suffering too, the things we have to through eh? Are you able to work? Sciatica is no joke.

My GP thinks it's definitely SPD and referred me for urgent physio at the hospital, which I'm really grateful for. He has offered to sign me off work and I get up to 6 months on full pay if that happens (my contractual maternity pay is crap but sick pay is good), but I'm determined to stick it out if I can as I can't bear the thought of letting work down, but I'll have to see how things pan out I guess.

Thanks for all your encouragement today.

Hungry, I hope your mum is ok, I'm sure she'll be thrilled when you're finally able to tell her.

HazyShadeOfWinter · 22/01/2014 21:22

Thanks hungry and lucy, not using OPKs or planning to just yet - will use the apps and monitor my CM at first. Somehow I find the idea of an OPK and knowing exactly when it is a bit scary. Ask me again if I'm still TTC in a few cycles!

windy great news on the urgent referral, I really did find the exercises helped to stabilise things so it got no worse and even a bit better. Oh, and second lucy's advice about pillows at night - I had them all round me by the end to support bump, legs etc.

I know what you mean about letting work down, but would there be any way you could even work from home or something to rest more? Maybe avoid it getting to the point where you need to be signed off?

sorry to hear about your sciatica donna, back pain and toddlers aren't a good mix.

lucy I have to work on Sat so not sure a POAS party will help me concentrate...mind you if still no AF by then I will likely spend whole time symptom spotting so perhaps poas and get the good/bad news out in the open is best plan.

willowking · 22/01/2014 22:54

Better and Donna, so happy your scans went well!

I'm now on day 32 since my AF. No signs yet but odd little occasional cramps. Dp gleefully told me my boobs looked huge today, I told him I doubt they'd be looking bigger already, he seemed happy. Had BFNs yesterday and on Saturday. Been to pound land and got loads of tests. Gonna POAS tomorrow. Can't hep myself!

My DM, gm and mil all keep telling me how wonderfully fertile they all were and how timing my cycles seems very silly. If it takes me a long time to conceive or If I can't god forbid I can see them getting right on my (not bigger) tits! Grin

donnas1984 · 23/01/2014 03:12

awh willow everyone is a bloody expert! I hope you get a bfp soon and can shut them up haha!
insomnia has struck again...

utopian99 · 23/01/2014 10:43

willow I'm in sort of the same boat.. gave up bf 3 weeks ago and had pinky ness on Monday but nothing since. Have had no af since he was born so not sure if it comes back as normal and this could be implantation, or comes back v gradually. Have poas yesterday and bfn but is that too soon if it was implantation? Am using Internet cheapies so should I try something else just in case, or just wasting money?

LucyJoJo · 23/01/2014 11:08

Just a quick message as am on my phone at work! Donna did you manage to get back to sleep ok you crazy lady?! What is bilateral sciatica? Glad you got some treatment for your aches and pains anyway! Windy sounds like you have a brilliant mw and good responses from your gp. Hope its not spd but at least youve got treatment in place if it is-how are you feeling today? Willow good luck with your multiple testings! How long are your cycles normally? Have you told your family you are ttc? Well i am 9dpo. Trying my hardest not to symptom spot but just for fun i would say i have been feeling a bit sick, usually around 11am for the past 3 days now,ive got a killer headache today and i keep waking up in the middle of the night for no reason! How is everyone else today?

claudeekishi · 23/01/2014 12:01

Hello all, I think I've missed too much to name check everyone but donna sciatica is the worst -- I had a lot of pain with this for several weeks during my last pregnancy and ended up trying relexology in desperation. Not sure if it was a woo placebo effect or what but it made all the pain disappear. Amazing (but pricey).

I am about 10dpo I think. Yesterday morning early we dtd and afterwards I had some pink spotting Shock. It was gone in 2/3 wipes and hasn't been back since. It's unusual for me and I don't think it's anything sinister because I just had a smear done and all was well. Not sure what to think but I did, ridiculously, do a test yesterday and OBVIOUSLY it was negative. I certainly don't feel at all pg.

Willowking, everyone is an expert, eh? Telling family as little as possible is the way to go Wink

HungryHorace · 23/01/2014 12:42

Willow, I personally think you're bonkers telling family you're TTC! I certainly don't share that kind of thing with my / DH's parents. Armchair experts are the worst!

Claude, you need to join Lucy's POAS party on Saturday, I think. Sounds like it'd be a good day for you to test again!

Lucy, sounds optimistic...bet you're willing Saturday to get here. :-)

HungryHorace · 23/01/2014 14:35

Utopian, tomorrow or Sat are probably your best bet if implantation bleeding was on Monday.

In fact, I think you need to join in the POAS party on Sat! :-)

BetterNotBitter · 23/01/2014 15:48

Ohhhh a poas party!! Exciting.

lucy they do sound like promising signs......fingers and toes crossed! I can so sympathise with the bad feeling, it's unshakable, the only consolation I can offer is so far my bad feeling has been wrong! Hopefully yours is too.

Ahhh hungry I know what you mean just wanting it over, your mind will be at rest soon. It's so long between finding out and having any tangible confirmation that there really is a healthy baby in there it's torture! A line is nice but it's not a scan. Hope your mum takes your news well. Was she pleased re number 1 baby?

Oh windy and donna I hope physio helps loads! Do you know when your appt will be windy?

That sounds so annoying willow I'd find it hard to bite my tongue with them if I were you!

HungryHorace · 23/01/2014 15:58

She was pleased re baby number 1, yes. But I'm sure she'll have an opinion on the small age gap, which is why I'll tell her by email. She can be very rude direct, so hopefully she'll compose herself before calling!

LucyJoJo · 23/01/2014 17:03

Ooh Claude, 10dpo spotting sounds promising!! Yes wait til saturday and come and join my party!! It's shaping up to be a good one, statistically speaking one of us has to get a bfp surely!!
Ladies I really have been feeling quite sick today, but yet not off my food. Oh I really hope this is it and not just my body playing cruel tricks on me again. I hope it's not just the anticipation/stress making me feel ill, or the amount of coffee and chocolate I have eaten today Hmm It would just be so fantastically amazing to get a bfp, I'm trying not to get my hopes up though.
I hadn't wanted to tell my family I was ttc, does feel a bit strange basically discussing your sex life with your parents Blush in fact I had wanted to leave it until about 10/12 weeks pg too to tell them, but we started talking about babies/careers the other day with my parents and when I started crying I sort of had to tell them then!!!

LucyJoJo · 23/01/2014 17:04

Hungry every time I read about you with two babies I picture two girls Grin. I was right with Mrs so maybe I can just become the baby gender psychic for everyone on here!!!

HungryHorace · 23/01/2014 17:42

I think boy. I was wrong last time though!!

BetterNotBitter · 23/01/2014 18:01

I think boy for me too just based on how different this pregnancy has been!

willowking · 23/01/2014 18:04

I work with my mum so I see her everyday and we're very close however she told my gran and the rest is history. Needless to say I wasn't impressed and yes, wish I hadn't told anyone.

I'm now 19 dpo and have been spotting since last night. Got a bfn this morning though. Normally AF is in full flow within a couple of hours of the first few spots. Im still getting very light occasional twinges and cramps when normally I'd be in a lot of pain. I've been off the pill two and a half years and have been pretty regular but I've never timed until recently so I don't know how long my cycles are.

Hope you are all well

claudeekishi · 23/01/2014 18:21

Oh that's annoying willow, you need some answers!
Lucy - confession time, I tested again today and negative. Am an idiot. I will test on sat if I really can't hold off, but am thinking now I need to step away from those sticks and wait for AF. I have no symptoms the last few days at all! Boobs ate resolutely not sore!
