Hello Far [waves and hands out cake. Actually, If I was close enough to hand you cake I probably wouldn't wave too as I'd just look like a simpleton. But anyway...]. SOOOOO glad your DH left his stressy job! Life is far far far far too short to put up with shit from work. The difference in my OH when he changed from shit job to good job was tangible - he was almost like a different person. And how lovely for DH to be a SAHD for 4 months! Friends of ours have just decided to do that - the mum has gone back to work full time and the dad is now a SAHD. Love that that seems to be coming more recognised as an option these days.

We went to Spain on our holiday - it was totally and utterly fabulous and I want to go back NOW. Only downer was that on our last day I picked up either food poisoning or a bug from somewhere and have had terrible stomach cramps and raging diarrhea for the last 2.5 days. Made the journey home a fun experience, that's for sure Hmm. Still, everything up until that point was just lovely. My first time to Spain - I cannot believe what I have missed out on up until now!

As for our "journey", we stopped trying for aaaaages having decided that we didn't really want children, we were only doing it because, you know, that's what couples do and we were just following expectations. We then decided at New Year that we may change our minds at some point in future so may as well start the ball rolling again - having spent 2 years or so with no BFP OH went straight for a sperm test before we started TTC and it turns out his sperm is totally fucked. He's been referred for IVF/ICSI and I've been having the tests necessary to get that particular ball rolling - everything seems okay with me so far which is nice. We're still pretty relaxed about whether or not we have a family which I think is very lucky for us as we're totally chilled out about what happens.

Right, going to go and make OH some tea. Not sure my stomach - or more specifically my arse - will thank me for having food.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/05/2014 08:02

Imps lovely, how are you? sounds like an amazing holibob. Well, ignoring the squits that is Wink. What culinary delights did you whip up for MrI last night?

I can't believe she is here either. She was 8 weeks yesterday. She is amazing.

Far I don't think I said hello when you came back . How have you been? How was your vino?

Imps9 · 23/05/2014 14:24

I've got a sand-papered arse crack, Maybe, that's how I am!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/05/2014 14:50

Grin Imps. Rubber ring?!

Imps9 · 23/05/2014 16:19

It's a ring o' fire, that's for sure.

I'm happy to report though that the stomach cramps have all but gone so hopefully it's only a matter of time before things firm up down below!

Imps9 · 24/05/2014 09:04

Morning Rat Smackers. Hope you're all doing okay.

Cups how are you feeling?

Pastamancer · 24/05/2014 20:26

Evening all, I plan to be rejoining you next month. N is 2 on Thursday and I've been so broody for months. I finished my temp job last week and college finishes at the end of June so hoping for a BFP to coincide with that.

I haven't read all the thread but a quick skim through shows lots of familiar names. It's almost 3 years since I became a Brooker now, time flies.

Imps9 · 27/05/2014 12:49

Well hello there Pasta - yours is not a name I recognise - where you previously under a different guise or were you on the thread when I was on a break? Either way, congratulations on rejoining the thread - you have won a guaranteed pregnancy. Well done!

Had my hosp appt this morning - nothing more exciting than a consultation to get a few details, tell me about the HSG I have to have and to explain what other tests OH needs to book.

Is there weather today atrocious for everyone?? I'm tempted to put the heating back on which for 27 May is ridiculous. I am most disappointed.

How were your bank holiday weekends all?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2014 13:29

I'm fairly sure Pasta is an old brooker under a differebt name..... Welcome back!!

Imps it's bloody shocking out there. Summers over. Is your HSG all booked? It's really not bad at all. What other tests do you need? It's frustrating having to go through the tests when you already know the problem. It was the same for us, we needed to go through a checklist before our referral was complete. The only good thing was that once we got to the clinic, we got the ball rolling straight away. Can't believe it's a year today since I had my first jab to DR. Where has the time gone?

How are you doing Cups lovely?

And Beedle and Far?

Imps9 · 27/05/2014 13:48

Ooooh Pasta who are you?? Clues, clues I need clues!!

Summer is bloody well over that is for sure. Although I suppose I should be grateful - we had our annual Big Barbecue on Sunday - 20+ adults and lots of kids who wouldn't have been able to fit in our house if it was raining...it pissed it down on Saturday and pissed it down yesterday, but on Sunday it was bloody lovely. Thank you Weather Controller (I say through gritted teeth considering the current situation).

I need to book my HSG when Fuckface AF turns up in a few days. OH needs blood tests for hormones, genetics and a bollock scan and I'm sure he'll need to jizz in a few more pots - maybe not though. I wonder when it will all start?? I'm quite excited if I'm honest - I had a moment on Sunday evening when I was ready a bedtime story to our friends' 4- and 2-year olds - it hit me that I really would like a small person in my life. Have a feeling that this chilled out approach may start to crack as time goes on!

Cups really hope you're feeling okay. Still thinking about you all the time and brooking no argument that you will have your sticky BFP in a few more days.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2014 15:20

Sounds like all the tests that MrM had Imps. I'm so pleased you're excited. It's an exciting yet daunting thing. That's how I felt anyway.

Glad you got your BBQ in whilst the sun was out. I too am feeling the need to knock the heating on. Brr.

Imps9 · 27/05/2014 15:34

What did you find the most daunting thing about it Maybe if you don't mind me asking? And what did you do about telling work/family/friends etc about it, if anything?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2014 17:33

The hardest part was the waiting. Waiting for appointments/results/stimming....and worst of all the 2ww. I didn't react very well to done of the drugs, but I could handle that. We told our parents and siblings. I told one friend, MrM told a lot of his work friends, they were a great support for him. I wasn't working at the time. But the best support of all were the amazing Sparks and Boo. And all the other brookers too Smile

Imps9 · 27/05/2014 19:08

Oooh how lovely - do you meet up with Sparks and Boo in real life then??? How old are their little ones now?

I think I'd like to not tell anyone in order to avoid the weight of expectation and having to talk about it when I don't want to. I suspect I may have to tell my boss though if it's going to take so much time off work but I don't want to - he's a friend as well as a boss and it would just be completely odd if he knew and my other closer friends didn't. I won't tell my family - if my mother knows then hundreds of people will know even if I ask her not to tell anyone. She cannot/will not keep a secret and I wouldn't risk it.

Imps9 · 27/05/2014 19:10

D'oh posted that too soon.

Do you still have time to knit/crochet Maybe?? Did I tell you that I took up crochet?? There were so many crafty Brookers I didn't want to miss out anymore and it is now one of my favourite hobbies.

Right, time for dinner. OH is away this week and usually I can't be bothered to cook proper food but I'm going to have to this week - I put on at least 5 lb on holiday and am now the heaviest I've been in about 10 years! Grrr.

Have lovely evenings all.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2014 20:21

Ooh, crochet you say Imps? What are you making? And what's for dinner? I haven't yet had time to craft, but I'm hoping to soon

I totally understand re the expectation. Is your clinic near your work? If I had been working, I would've had to either book holiday or explain the situation. When stimming, I was in every other day for scans and bloods and wouldn't have been able to do it in a lunch hour.

I've yet to meet up with my brooking buddies, but hoping to soon. Sparks' little boy is one next month, and booby just turned one!!!

TheLittleFriend · 27/05/2014 20:58

Hi brookers, I always love it when you pop up on active convos Grin

Lots of people I think of as old friends here and I'm brooking that you all get your bfps. I've guessed who Pasta is too Wink

It's also wonderful to see so many non ttc brookers still here to support. You're all lovely.

[wonders if anyone will even remember who I am, have been a very bad brooker of late Blush]

Ummm, sorry for repeating myself Blush

Imps9 · 27/05/2014 21:09

Hello Little lovely to see you!

Hello Little lovely to see you!

Hello Little lovely to see you!

Maybe our clinic is nowhere near where I work - it will be a huge disruption if I have to go for lots of appts and scans (I wasn't expecting that tbh!). I have no holiday left to take this year...hopefully we won't start until 2015 and then I can keep loads of holiday free next year.

As for crochet, I am about to embark on a scarf and so far have made a few bits and bobs like an owl and a rabbit. And a few shit things too which I don't know what to do with!

Had fava bean curry tonight - delish and healthy. Hurrah!

Right, bed time - sorry I've been very obsessed about me today, will be less so in future, promise.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2014 22:08

Lovely to see you lovely!! How are you?

Sound tasty imps. You will have quite a few appointments throughout your treatment. Well done on the crochet! Not self-obsessed at all x

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/05/2014 22:21

I'm exhausted now, all that huggin and squeezin Grin

Imps9 · 28/05/2014 06:05

Am I the only person who doesn't know who Pasta is??? Hurrumph.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 28/05/2014 09:02

She's our most southerly Brooker!!
