Thanks everyone.

He did chose the ring himself & it fit too

imps I've done ivf twice and epically failed, hospital said last November no point trying again with my own eggs. I think I am entering early menopause tbh

Anyway I feel a bit out of sorts on here and don't want to be the spectre at the feast, all the best guys & thanks again xx

keepitgoing · 10/03/2014 12:00

beedle just to say you are actually 3+6 today if 13dpo. forget about AF date its all on ov and embies. there you go you're two days more pregnant than you thought! I'd not tell people your real AF date if I were you but this adjusted one since having done fet you know exactly when you conceived. hope this makes sense x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 10/03/2014 12:18

yes you're right keep I'll have to work out a fake last AF date! I just hope that the clinic go with X number of weeks after transfer for my scan as they know my actual last AF date! anyway that's too far ahead to worry about, I need to get to OTD first.

scarlett ((hugs))

keepitgoing · 10/03/2014 12:36

exciting!!! but one step at a time... Smile

GreenOlives · 10/03/2014 13:18

And congrats on engagement scarlett Smile

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/03/2014 15:20

Brooking for Cups today - and for Blastobeedle! Is it still a blastobeedle if it's now implanted, or does it become something else? BFPeedle?

Scarlett, congratulations! How soon will you actually tie the knot - long engagement or short?

Imps9 · 10/03/2014 19:27

BeedlesPineNeedles · 11/03/2014 14:44

Hope you're feeling OK after the op cups resting nicely and having MrCups attend to your every need for chocolate

Well BFPeedle/embryeedle seems to be hanging on for the moment, I've had various crampy feelings but luckily nothing to make me think AF is going to show her ugly face.

ScrambledSmegs · 11/03/2014 14:51

Oooooooohhhhh! Beedle that is wonderful news! The cramps are probably just embrybeedle getting comfy, I had mega-cramps for a couple of weeks with DD1.

Scarlett, despite the shameful fact that I'm rarely on here anymore, it is lovely to see and hear from you. Congratulations on your engagement! You needn't feel bad or ashamed about your news, whether good or bad, people on here just want to support you. And each other

bastard phone just corrected that to huggyfucker

ScrambledSmegs · 11/03/2014 14:54

I'm also reserving my biggest hugs for Cups. Hope your op went well and you're recovering in the best way possible - with lots of love and cosseting. Hope you and your DH have a wonderful time in NY.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 11/03/2014 16:24

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the brooking, I had my hysteroscopy, biopsy and scratch yesterday. I think it went ok. I saw my consultant before the op, she said she was also going to thin my lining out so that hopefully I will be able to do short protocol after my next AF if the biopsy is normal. She said she would come and speak to me afterwards to say how it had gone. As you have probably guessed she didn't bother coming to see me, she just buggered off home instead. I've been pestering her secretary this morning but I doubt she will get back to me, I guess all I can do is wait for AF and a baseline scan to see if I can have the IVF or not.

Imps my last IVF was cancelled as my womb lining was too thick, the drugs they give you for IVF make your lining thicker and mine was already at the stage it should be for egg transfer before starting the drugs.

Beedle glad to hear its all still going well xx

Ps NYC is 12 weeks away. I'm torn between being excited and panicking that I'll get pregnant from the IVF and have to decide if it's worth the risk of flying or not Blush

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/03/2014 17:12

So good to hear from you Cups! I'm pleased everything sounds like it went well. Are you very sore? I hope MrC is looking after you. I hope the consultant gets back to you soon, poor show that she didn't visit you afterwards.

You will be fine to fly when you get your BFP. And there's nothing I like more than an ill-timed one Wink

BeedlesPineNeedles · 11/03/2014 17:14

cups glad you think it went ok, how annoying that she didn't come back to tell you how it went. But that must mean that she didn't find anything obviously wrong. Hope you get some better info soon and that the biopsy results are quick coming back. I have everything crossed that you'll be able start the ivf next month

Munxx · 11/03/2014 17:58

Cups so pleased you came to tell us how it went. I am brooking harder than ever that your lining plays ball and the scan reveals womb perfection.

scarlett exactly what smegs said! brooking is about ups and downs and good and bad and no matter what's going on we loves you, see.

Still over the moon for BFPeedle cracking.

Imps9 · 11/03/2014 20:17

Hello Cups - glad it seemed to go okay. Very annoyed on your behalf that the woman went home - I guess they get desensitised to these procedures and forget how damned important/worrying they are to those going through them. Don't worry about NYC - either situation will be a winner :)

Can I just ask - how long does IVF take from start to finish? And how long did it take between your first doctors' appointments for test etc and having the treatment? I have no idea of timescales really.

Beedle - AF has been flung to the far side of fuck off for you, and I am brooking no argument about that. Have you seriously not PIAR since the FRER?? Madness!

Who's watching the GB Sewing Bee right now then?

ScrambledSmegs · 11/03/2014 20:36

You could have just asked me to stick around, Maybe! Grin

Oh yay Cups! Brooking very hard that you'll be travelling as 3, not 2 for NYC Wink. Typical of the consultant though, how annoying.

Hello Imps! It's very good to see you here again. How are you? I loved your display for Beedle, most athletic!

keepitgoing · 11/03/2014 21:21

great cups!! and you will be fine flying while preg!!

imps I stimmed for 9 days, so from AF to bfp was something like 25 days. if you do long protocol not short you turn off your ovaries (down reg) for about 3 weeks first. and most people stimm for longer but short protocol 4-5 weeks. x

Imps9 · 11/03/2014 21:37

Hmmm, so what's the difference between long and short protocol then? Well, apart from the fact that one is long and one is short. Why would you use one rather than the other? Blimey, I have a lot to learn!

Smegs what's the news with you?? All good?

GreenOlives · 11/03/2014 21:41

Glad that it went smoothly cups, hope you can get some more info from the consultant soon. And I hope you're not too sore.
Still Grin Grin Grin for you beedle!

ScrambledSmegs · 11/03/2014 21:49

Mostly, yes thanks Imps. We're house-hunting now, looking for a place outside London. V sad as I'm London born and bred, but the life outside London will be better for the kids.

Who aren't giving me a minutes peace, btw! E2 has a recurrent ear infection, is teething again and thinks sleep is for boring people Hmm. E1 is going through an insecure phase Sad. They are amazing though, I feel thankful every day.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 11/03/2014 21:55

I'm feeling all nostalgic seeing all the 'old' Brookers again Smile

Olives I am still a bit uncomfortable tonight which I'm surprised about, it's just like AF cramps. I've stopped spotting though no so hopefully the worst is over.

I've been busy planning for NYC! Has anyone else been? Anyone got any tips?

Imps long protocol is 2-3 weeks longer than short and it basically fools your body into thinking its in the menopause by down regulation (DR) this is either done by injection or sniffing a nasal spray. A lot of doctors prefer this for younger patients (I think you would fall into this category) as they think you get more eggs this way. After you have DR you then move on to stimulation aka stimming (which is where short protocol starts) for approximately 10-14 days. When your follicles get to the right size you have a trigger injection and 36 hours later they collect your eggs. Then depending on how many embryos you have and how they look you have egg transfer on 2,3 or 5 days after collection. Then you have the hideous 2ww. That's a quick guide to IVF Grin there are different protocols but most people have the long or short.

I had long protocol for my first IVF go, I'm trying short this time as my egg quality was a bit crap.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 11/03/2014 21:58

I forgot to say Imps that waiting times vary massively depending on your clinic. If you know where you are going to be referred you can look on the regional pages on fertility friends forum and there should be a group for your clinic. You will be able to get a good idea of timescales from there.

musicalmrs · 11/03/2014 22:09

Eeeek, good luck with the house hunting Smegs. Whereabouts are you looking ish? We've just fallen in love with a house in Cambridgeshire, and are now playing the waiting game.. eek!

Imps, I'm watching the sewing bee, though haven't seen tonight's episode - I tend to watch it at some point during the following days.

Cups, I'm glad to hear all went ok, but how annoying about the consultant. We went to NY about four years ago.. loved it (though still prefer London!). Visiting the stores (Macys!) is a must, as is going up somewhere high to see the view - we picked the Rockefeller centre, but can't remember why. We also did an open top tour bus which was great -a hop on hop off one so we could venture round!

Beedle, I felt crampy for ages around BFP time. And still do! As everyone has said, it's BFPeedle settling in - and your womble going a bit mad and stretching and whatnot.
