Um hello, newbie, ttc, needing a place to talk to people :)

I've been reading the site for ages but decided to sign up as need an outlet and place to talk as ttc is quite secret and it's not something I have loads of people I could talk about it with. Plus I'm quite shy and my ovaries aren't something to bring up at social gatherings!
I'm 31, came off pill in October and me and boyfriend have been ttc since. I didn't know how long it would take to get back to normal as had been on pill for eleven years. Turns out it took four weeks, and am now on third AF since coming off, so annoyingly normal in one way! I'm getting my head round all this tracking stuff but don't want it all to get clinical with the fella as it takes the fun away!
So just wanted to say hi and hopefully share in people's stories. It's not all as straightforward as I always thought, and I'm always the one that would start panicking something was wrong with me. I'm pleased I found somewhere I can just write it down if nothing else.
So, hi, and hopefully can take some good advice away.

Definitely Hazel. Seriously hope both our AFs show up soon!!!

misskgb · 02/03/2014 19:50

Its supposed to be a non contact sport but theres a lot of contact so need to have a think n talk with dh. I hope its not either, but its horrible right now!

Lolly84 · 02/03/2014 19:50

Wow fab lady! Got me excited for ttc this month :-) feeling v positive!! Opk's arrived today to try although I can normally tell with ov as I get bad pain.

Misskgb look forward to an update tomorrow!!

Helen forgive me if I have missed something but is there defo no chance your pregnant?? X

mrshjb · 02/03/2014 19:57

Lolly- the only chance I could be pregnant is if I was one of these weird people who wee tests don't work for. The doctor said there's a very very slim chance. She also said it could be caused by a pregnancy that didn't develop but again most people have a faint bfp if that happens. I presume if there is any hcg in my blood the tests I had on friday would pick it up. It's beyond unlikely though so haven't really dwelled on it too much!

mrshjb · 02/03/2014 20:01

But I still can't get my head round why I got all the ovulation symptoms but then no bfp or af!

Lolly84 · 02/03/2014 20:18

Hmmm no wonder you are confused. I really hope you get answers soon. X

mrshjb · 02/03/2014 20:21

Thank you :)

misskgb · 02/03/2014 21:05

When du get your blood results?

Lolly84 · 02/03/2014 21:22

Going to ask a tmi qu, do you ladies do any particular positions when dtd? X

misskgb · 02/03/2014 21:32

Generally (standard) him on top or me on top but did it 5 times in 'the window' n another 4 times after that. Def believe in happy sex coz u want it n not just to make babies. I did raise my pelvis for about 10 mins after whenever I could without going toilet!

Ladymillion · 02/03/2014 22:13

Always finished doggy style Blush haha and I got up and went for a wee straight after almost every time!

mrshjb · 03/03/2014 08:00

Blood tests should be back by Friday! As am I, so take care everyone and have a happy pregnancy/ baby making week :)

Misskgb and Lady- if you disappear off to the pregnancy threads whilst I'm gone then good luck and hopefully I'll be joining you in the not too distant future!

Hazelbrowneyes · 03/03/2014 08:17

AF has arrived! CD34. Ridiculously happy, which I never thought I'd say! Ordering OPKs today.

H, I'll still be here waiting for you when you get back Grin

mrshjb · 03/03/2014 08:42

And I never thought I'd be jealous of af arriving!! Good news :) speak soon!!

Hazelbrowneyes · 03/03/2014 08:56

Fx that your AF (or a late BFP!) arrives this week Smile

misskgb · 03/03/2014 09:10

You ladies do make me smile! Not sure I want to go on another thread tho!

Been docs this morning after testing again just to make sure/use second test from the twin pack. He was lovely (opted to see the nice one). Even tho af was last here 3.5 weeks ago n ov was about 2 weeks ago he still classes it as 4 weeks gone! Midwife appt in for 4 weeks n nothing else til then really!

KikiThePea · 03/03/2014 09:44

Congratulations both! Really pleased for you xx

Phoenix860 · 03/03/2014 12:29

Having a very strange month I experienced every symptom possible of early pregnancy, AF not due til 5th March so I thought I'd do an early test Saturday (1st) BFN then terrible stomach cramps and AF suddenly appeared the day after I tested. I'm guessing its some form of chemical pregnancy? not a very nice thing to go through TTC #1 since August 13 :-( need some positive energy girls!! x

BlondieNZ · 03/03/2014 15:19

Sorry to hear that, Phoenix. I've also had every symptom possible these last few weeks (I posted here earlier under a different name after I had my mirena out). Yesterday I was feeling so sick, and even ran to the bathroom a couple of times thinking I was going to throw up. However, BFN this morning! My AF is due on the 5th (or would be if my cycles were regular, not sure at this stage), so I'm going to wait a bit before testing again.. if I have the self control.

binkybunny · 03/03/2014 18:43

Congratulations Lady and Misskgb! Such great news for you both. My recommendation... Enjoy this moment before you start puking Grin

Helen, Hazel and everyone else I'm sure it will happen for you soon.

Kiki and weebairn how are you both doing? I feel like death. Constantly feeling or being sick and exhausted (sad). 3 more weeks til I hit the magic 12 weeks. Hoping it all goes away then!

KikiThePea · 03/03/2014 18:51

Hi binky! Nice to hear from you. Yes, like death - So much worse over the past two weeks but counting down the days until the magic 12, as you say!

11 weeks tomorrow, so almost there - at which point I'm hoping for not only a bit of stomach relief (I cannot go near the fridge at this point without wanting to gag for a month - even though it is sparkling clean and apparently smells of absolutely nothing...), but also because I can now actually refer to the scan as happening 'next week' and stop having ridiculous thoughts like 'what if I've completely imagined the whole thing and there's nothing actually there.' I used to be rational...

Have you told many people? My parents and sister finally know, as do my parents in law, but we're keeping quiet with other siblings and everyone else for another couple of weeks.

Fingers still crossed for everyone else - I'm still convinced this is a lucky thread and it will happen for everyone here soon!

weebairn · 03/03/2014 19:28

Hey binky and Kiki
Yes, feeling pretty ropey here. Thankfully my baby is sleeping well, though she does get up at about 5am every morning…
Work has been very tough, long shifts, weekends, nights.
Not actually being sick but rising nausea all day, worst in the evenings (like right now). I go to bed about 8.30pm…

I am just so BORED with my sick exhausted self. When my boyfriend is around and I'm off work I just get into bed! But I remember this from last time and it did pass, around 12 weeks last time. I did an epic 4 day hike at 14 weeks!!! I am still trying to do little bits of exercise (yoga and walking) but it's pretty minimal. I am on my feet all day at work anyway. I chase the crazy toddler around. Some days I lie on the floor and she just climbs all over me while I weep Grin

Kiki I know exactly what you mean about thinking you're imagining the whole thing! (Despite the crippling tiredness and sickness!) Everyone told me I'd show "really early" with a second but I look absolutely the same. Cannot wait to see wee baby wriggling around, though if I'm anything like last time I'll have my eyes shut until they tell me there is a baby and it is alive! I have a scan date - 20 March -how about you two?

I have told my parents and brothers, who were all really nice. Going to tell my two best friends next week. Everyone else can wait for a while.

This IS a lucky thread and I think Helen is due the next batch of luck :)

weebairn · 03/03/2014 19:32

ps. I am 10 weeks 2 days now.

Ladymillion · 04/03/2014 06:32

Thanks Kiki and binky! Smile

I'm in such turmoil, part of me wants to enjoy this moment, start planning, talk to friends about it, another part of me knows that this early stage is when a lot of women miscarry! So my mood fluctuates from pure elation and excitement to absolute dread and anxiety!

There's no way I'll be going over to the pregnancy feeds yet, maybe in a few weeks months Blush
