Over here all breastfeeding ttcers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of ttc while still breastfeeding (or expressing like myself).

I thought I should go ahead and start the new thread as the old one is about to fill up and I didn't want anyone to get lost (hope that's ok Waiting and that you haven't already done this and I just missed it!)

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together)

Fingers crossed for you Mister. And good news you managed to swi just in time Painty.

How are you Junebaby? I've about a week left before AF's due. Not feeing anything here yet. Staying hopeful as we def swi around the right time.

Had a weird day today, with both good and bad news. Feeling grateful for everything in my life. Off on a (much, much needed) weekend away tomorrow with friends (inc baby twins). Can't wait. haven't been away since DS was 5 weeks old. Will be exhausting but really miss seeing some of our extended friend group since we had DS.

Hope everyone else is ok Smile

Hi all
New to this thread!
DS is 6 months and would like to try for number 2.
I suffer with pcos so was very lucky to conceive naturally and don't want a long wait this time round.
Currently solely BF but only had one period since he was born so am thinking of moving to mix feeds.
If anyone has any tips would be so grateful!

Not yet Painty, I'm too scared! Grin Laughing at myself for being so pathetic but as long as I don't get a negative test I can keep hoping! No AF so far, 2 days late now. I'm planning to test in the morning if I'm brave enough. Any sign of ovulation for you yet?

Sorry you're having a tough day mrs, enjoy your weekend and fingers crossed for a bfp next week for you.

Hello and welcome Little! I think increasing the time between feeds can help, even if you just have one part of the day/night where there is a longer gap (though my ds was still determined to feed every 2 hours or more at 6 months!). As Painty says if you've already had a period there's a good chance fertility will come back soon anyway, but I know it's hard to wait!

Thanks everyone! Should prob change my name too as baby is 6 months! Am 32. He's feeding every 4 hours and going through from 11ish til 6. Period was in January but tbh was a flash in the pan and not what I expected post birth. Fingers crossed for us all!

junebaby2011 · 06/03/2014 21:39

Anyone else have problems posting from phone?

Welcome little-no tips here but you seem to be lucky that AF has already made an appearance.

Mrs-5 days to go here. I am determined not to poas until Monday-doing ok so far! Was trying to work out dates and don't think I would get a BFP until Monday (one day before AF) anyway if I ovulated on day 17.. Still think luteal phase too shortHmm.

Anyone got any experience of nearly 3 year old nurser-DD seems to be feeding more than ever and every 2 ish hours through the night ( we co sleep). Showing no signs of cutting down at all!

Was feeling positive this month-now not sure!

Just a quick update - BFN for me this morning. Not sure where AF has got to as my ov date was very clear from my temp chart! My temperature has dipped a bit this morning although still way above the coverline (although not entirely reliable due to a broken night's sleep - I'm looking at you DS!), maybe a sign she is now on her way.

Wow - it's been busy here Smile

It's so nice to see bfing cosleepers on MN, I sometimes feel a little alone on other treads when they talk about CIO and gradual retreat etc, I just whip my boob out instead Wink

I know I sound absolutely doodles, but I feel pregnant, which is beyond BONKERS as I only ov'd in the last few days - anyone else having ridiculous, most likely phantom symptoms (or wishful thinking symptoms!)

I love this thread Grin

Hello everyone

Are people here planning on carrying on with breastfeeding when their pregnant and tandem feeding?

I'm happy to carry on a while but don't much like the thought of tandem feeding, so I'm hoping to stop when I get pregnant, at the moment DS is only feeding at bedtime and first thing in morning, and occasionally more if he's poorly. He's nearly 18 months.

I'm a bit disappointed to have got AF last night. My cycles are confusing now as I've had a 32 day then a 24 day cycle. At first I thought this might have been an implantation bleed as I thought I was ovulating last weekend, but it's heavy so it's definitely a period, and this happened when I stopped the pill to TTC the first time.

Good luck everyone awaiting time to POAS.

cowbiscuits · 07/03/2014 13:54

aghhh! Sorry, I said "their" instead of "they're".

2tiredmama · 07/03/2014 14:02

BF 1 Year old and want to get pregnant in Summer...should I stop BF to let my body recover?

My baby who turned 1 last week and I both enjoy BF and it's at a lovely stage where he crawls over to me for it which makes it very rewarding and hard to think of saying no to him if I wean him. I work full time and I only went back 5 weeks ago and I am finding it exhausting and low and behold I have a ear and throat infection as I'm run down already. We want to try for another baby around June which is only 3 months away and I am vegetarian and I never seem to have the energy of other people despite eating well. I don't intend on doing tandem feeding when another baby comes anyway but wondering should I stop BF now to let my body, energy, nutrient stores recover somewhat before pregnancy comes along and to increase chances of falling pregnant as planned as I'm thinking I wouldn't manage BF and pregnancy anyway with morning sickness etc.
If no second baby was planned this year I wouldn't be stopping BF so it's a hard choice but I'm 34 this year and we don't want a big age gap. All advice welcome please!!

cowbiscuits · 07/03/2014 14:32

How often are you breastfeeding him 2tiredmama?

Hello everyone!

Firstly, just to point out that OrchidFlakes and I are different people (so I don't confuse anyone)!

Second, apologies again for neglecting the thread. I just thought I'd let you know that I got a bfp yesterday :)

So it turns out that I hadn't ovulated when I thought I had before, and after waiting for af for several days I started monitoring my cm again, and I saw a couple of days of ewcm, and we managed to time things just right. I can't believe we were so lucky to have managed it on the second cycle. It would have been a 60 something day cycle if I hadn't got pregnant! So my advice is, if you have irregular cycles, keep monitoring your cm even if you think you've ovulated - you might not have and might miss it otherwise!

So I think I will bow out of this thread for now, hoping I don't have to return to it, but will keep an eye on it to see you all get your bfps!

Thank you so much for your supportive word Painty fingers :)) I'm certainly not going to to rush making the decision as I don't want any regrets!
Cowbiscuits I breast feed twice per 24hrs...before leaving for work and then just before he goes to bed and in the past week he has cut down on the length of time of the feeds by about a quarter. Not sure why as he has also cut down on his solids a bit too but I think he's just not growing as rapidly right now and is sleeping solidly and is a very happy chappy so he's obviously getting what he needs ?
