  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

handsfull sorry to hear your grandma's not well. Hugs. Hope she's better soon.

What a trooper Sal. Am impressed with your psychic ovulation prediction abilities too.

I decided I need to have a few positive irons in the fire to stop me turning into a complete ttc nutjob pretty sure it's already too late so aside from aiming to pass my driving test in the next 6 months I am taking up yoga and planning how to do up our new house that we moved into a month ago. Anyone else got some distraction projects in the pipeline or care to join me in some 'lalala definitely not thinking about ttc 99% of the time honest' denial?

Beetsarebisgusting · 06/01/2014 00:32

Hi, can I join?

I have had 2 mc in the last year or so, one at 12 weeks, one at 10 weeks. And a previous mc at 6 weeks. Hopefully we are about to try for dc3 - does that fit in here? I wasn't sure if this thread is only for people ttc no1...

handsfull I hope your gma gets better soon Thanks

fedupofrainydays · 06/01/2014 08:09

Hi beets sorry you are here but welcome. And there are people with DC on here. (I've got one but have also had two mc.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. It's properly grotty out there now. I'm impressed with everyone's SMEP effort and sal the good news re early opk is that the marathon will be over quicker, right?!

I POAS this morn and in only certain lights I can imagine see a line but not in others so think its just a shadow and a bfn. Fish slaps please, this is an official rule break and I apologise and need a big fat salmon slap round the chops.

Sal1977 · 06/01/2014 09:40

Sit on the naughty step Fedup ! When you testing again? Can you hold out until official testing day?

OP posts:
fedupofrainydays · 06/01/2014 10:17

Course not!! So will be on the naughty step all week. Really think it was a bfn tho. As even if there was a line it was just a grey shadow so more likely evap than proper line but it was only evident in certain lights. The magic line or just a shadow

JBrd · 06/01/2014 10:36

Welcome beets, you are definitely in the right place. We have people from all stages of family planning and expanding! Sorry that you find yourself here, but there are lots of lovely ladies around for holding hands, sharing the pain and giving advice.

Penguin I feel for you, ttc is such hard work. Nothing takes the passion out of dtd like that. I honestly can count the times we did it 'just for fun' in the last year on the fingers of one hand Blush.
I'm gearing up for the next round, CD9 today. SMEP is not going to happen, I think, but I need to space is all out a bit better, otherwise I'll be back to the cystitis in no time Confused Unfortuantely, DH is still full of cold, so getting him on board won't be easy...

As for distraction, I'm going to do the same. Exercise will be ramped up again, that'll take care of a few evenings during the week. And then lots of jobs around the house that I've been meaning to do for ages and never got round to! Planning a picture wall in the hall, so need to start buying picture frames and choose which photos I want to put up. Should be fun!

deuscat · 06/01/2014 11:25

Hi everyone. So I've not posted since I introduced myself last week. I have been waiting for BFN following my mc that I had over Christmas. I got a positive test last Friday so had to go for more needle pricks blood tests which showed my hcg level as 49 so I was given the all clear which I was glad about.

Back to worn today for the first time since mc. Thought I was feeling ok and was even talking to DH about just getting back to ttc this month rather than waiting till first AF. But today I'm feeling quite tearful at work and not myself at all Sad

Penguin I'm planning on distracting myself from ttc with yoga as well. I am starting a class tomorrow and I'm nervous! I'm also trying to get more sleep and read more which should keep me busy!

Penguin13 · 06/01/2014 11:53

Welcome Beets sorry you've found yourself here but come on in Smile

Oh Deus no wonder you're finding it hard, it's still so raw. It does get easier with time. You don't forget but the sadness becomes less acute. At least that's my experience. Good luck with the yoga. Are you a total newbie like me?

Just selecting an appropriately sized fish for you....thwump fedup Grin I forget, what dpo are you? definitely not secretly getting my hopes up for you

fedupofrainydays · 06/01/2014 12:08

Ok so got home and took test out of case. I can see a line albeit ridic light and only the Trained POASaholic would see it. Prob an evap as did it at 7 this morn.

penguin I don't really know as this is my first cycle since mc in dec. based on ewcm I think I'm 10 dpo.

Feel nervous, very nervous. But then it's prob bfn and will be broken once af arrives... Or if it doesn't. Shit scared.

suzy I had a brief stint (1 week) visitng the grads thread in December and all seemed to be doing well - *katatonic, saggy and emki and nerdy to name a few. Just fucked off I'm not still there too to be honest but hey ho.

Hope you are ok deus. The emotional aspects of mc and ttc are a thousand times worse than the physical. I hate what a mad woman it's turned me into. But like the others it's a good idea to focus on other things in 2014 whether getting fit or doing up the house. I'm also sorting photos and planning a house do up for when it stops raining!!! (Extension and new roof which you don't want to be doing in torrential weather!)

Right.. Distraction required. Now where are those wedding pics...

Seasides · 06/01/2014 13:35

A trout from me too fedup, but it's impossible not to test if you have even an inkling or vague hope something might be up(duffed). Hope it isn't an evap and you can be back on that grads thread. Glad to hear those guys are all doing well, wish I was there with them. In my mind it's a heavenly place full of angels and fluffy pink clouds, and it feels as likely I'll be there soon!

Solidly in the 2ww now, poss 4 dpo but never certain. No idea when af is due-if its my post-ep normal 27 day cycle it'll be on the 12th, but I'll only be 10dpo then, so really hoping the agnus castus will have worked some magic to hold af for a while longer.

Good call on distraction techniques-dh and I wrote a list of things we want to achieve, on top of sorting house and knocking me up. More walking, visiting friends in Germany, healthier eating. Work's really busy and fun for the next 3 months too, so that will help too. Back to Pilates tonight after 2 month break too, starting a new class in my new town so also a bit apprehensive!

Seasides · 06/01/2014 13:36

Hi to deus and beets too (sorry, always miss bits out posting from phone). Sounds like you've had a crap time of it, hope it's your turn v soon.

Parsley2506 · 06/01/2014 14:19

Handsfull I hope your grandma is continuing to improve. I lost my last one 3 years ago and still miss her awfully,

Beets, so sorry to hear of your MCs and this is the right place. Being back at work was pretty grim for me too but it does get better with time!

Fedup, fish slaps for you madam, but only gentle ones as I don't think you can be blame for getting hopes up! My BFP started with the faintest if faint lines so who knows.....

Today should be SMEP rest day but I've had more ov type pains on the left today and was very warm in bed last night so might go for 4 on the trot. H (anyone mind if I drop the D? It's too weird!) will be lucky if he has any swimmers left this month!!

Distraction techniques are a must have! We're currently getting our store/back room converted into a utility room, started it when I got the BFP as we had no room for - tumble dryer or half our outdoorsy stuff. Bit of a sad thing to finish with no bubs on the horizon but at least it will be ready for next time!

deuscat · 06/01/2014 15:02

Thanks everyone for your kind words. This is a very lovely thread Smile

Handsfull I hope your grandma is ok.

Fedup that's very exciting about the faint positive Wink fingers crossed for you.

Beets sorry to hear you've had multiple mc. That must be awful. I've not been on this thread long though, but I can see that everyone is a supportive bunch so I'm sure you'll get good support on this crazy journey.

Penguin yes I'm a complete yoga novice and kitted myself up with yoga clothes from aldi last week Grin I'm nervous about my class tomorrow but also excited about trying it. Have you got a class organised to go to?

fedupofrainydays · 06/01/2014 15:46

Yikes definitely not calling it a faint bfp... More a likely evap! Partic as just done another one and is bfn (ok not fmu but still). I wish I hadn't tested but kind of need to know if pregnant for something I'm planning to do and now I'm no the wiser. Bleurgh.

handfull I didn't realise your grandma was ill. Sorry to hear that and hope she gets better soon.

I also bough some new gym kit the other day. In absence of pregnancy bump I would like a nice toned body please!

HollyBen · 06/01/2014 16:05

handsful sorry to hear about you grandma. I hope she is recovering.

Beetsarebisgusting · 06/01/2014 16:29

Thankyou for the warm welcome. You are all very kind.

Justonemoretime · 06/01/2014 18:02

Hello Ladies, and welcome to the new joiners. Sorry that you find yourselves here. All that yoga sounds very distracting I hope you enjoy it. I normally like swimming but the pool I go to is outside and I just can't brace myself for it at the moment! Brrrrr!
I have managed to pretty much do SMEP without planning to, got a strong +ive OPK and the end of last week but had a bit of ewcm before then so had been already going for it already. I am literally spent! DH thinks its been a second Christmas, but I don't suppose that it will still be as fun after a few months of that regime, so FX its been enough! I found that the fertility approved 'personal gel' (ahem) helped no end!
So the 2WW begins.... I hate this bit.

Beetsarebisgusting · 06/01/2014 18:15

Can I ask a silly question? SMEP, do you mean dtd? I'm confused.

Justonemoretime · 06/01/2014 18:20

Sperm meets egg plan: www.twoweekwait.com/articles/sperm-meets-egg-plan Good in theory, knackering in real life!

Penguin13 · 06/01/2014 18:44

Deus my lovely DH got me some yoga classes for Christmas so I'll be starting sat. I'm off to a Pilates class tonight though, something I am also new to.

Hope the 2 weeks flies by just one. Who needs the pool to keep fit when you have ttc? Smile

Keeping everything crossed for you fed up and seasides and anyone else doing the 2 ww. Waiting sucks.

Seasides · 06/01/2014 19:08

Seasides · 06/01/2014 19:11

Um...don't know what's going on with my post-repeating phone!

Quick thought-those who were talking about naturally low libido, I'm the same and have found maca helps a bit. Maybe placebo but worth a try? Just take until ov, also good for blokes sperm apparently too.

tannyLoo · 06/01/2014 19:18

Deus and Beets hellooo. Welcome. Come join the fun. trying to remember which bits were fun

Fedup only a minnow slap from me, as I was poasing from what I guessed to be about 7dpo until I got af, even though we weren't trying to get upduffed!

So impressed by all the fitness and distraction techniques on show. Unfortunately my comfort eating following my mc morphed into Christmas and New Year eating. Not the prettiest. Can't be arsed to consider getting fitter atm though, as I lost 1 and a half stone before our wedding in Oct, and that was bloody hard work!

I gave the phlebotomist 8 phials of my finest blood today. Hopefully I'll get the results when I go for my rmc appt next week, and hopefully they'll all be negative.

Misspositivity · 06/01/2014 19:44

fedup consider yourself fish slapped you bad girl. Will keep fx it's a BFP in the morning.
sal. Finally got started on cd 12 yesterday. Suppose ok if ovulate on cd 18. Yours was early and excellent catch. Another few shags and 2ww for you.
Welcome to newbies. Sorry your here but it's cosy and friendly. I have been here forever- 7 months to be precise.

I so need to get up duffed this cycle so I don't have my AF on my wedding day.
