  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hmm...on pillow I mean. I'm getting weird mental images from that previous post.

wingandtalon · 28/01/2014 09:49

seasides I've got mental images of you waving your arse in the air now. My DH always laughs when I lift my bum in the air after DTD. He claims that I'm trying to air myself because I'm so stinky down there!

LOL at otters self cyber stalking. I need someone to come and tie my hands behind my back to stop me googling symptoms. Having said that I'd probably just start using my nose to type...

MissHobart · 28/01/2014 10:33

Seasides - I will no doubt be buying more super lube! Hmm

EnglishGirlAbroad · 28/01/2014 10:42

I've just ordered the superlube! Hoping that's what I need to do the trick again! That and my new cbfm! Spent more this month on TTC than I ever thought of consider or need to!
Considering soft cups too after someone on another thread said they she thinks they did the trick for her.

Parsley2506 · 28/01/2014 10:44

Balls, I did think the pipettes looked rather generous quantity wise, not sure how you can only use half tho without wasting it. I need a home lube storage system of some sort.

CD8, CBFM low as expected. After guesstimating SMEP last month this month we are only going to DTD once it flips to 'high'. Next month I might try educated SMEPage and month after that I might just steal a baby. Grin

My phone can auto predict all this shit now inc. capitalisation. ::sigh::

OttersPocket · 28/01/2014 10:55

Morning everyone!

You've all made me chuckle like a loon this morning - arf at bum wiggling, lube being too lubricating and DP's not needing to know about ewcm! Grin Parsley I've also read about the cough medicine thing but I've also discovered another great way to waste our money help with conception. Actual tablets you pop from CD1 to help increase your cm - I'm really gullible tempted.

I'm just back from my weekly acupuncture session, it was lovely to sit and chat with the therapist today. We just talked about general life stuff but it was most relaxing. I think DP would have a fit if he knew I was spending £120 a month on it though Blush We bought a house last October (actually because of the BFP, sob) but it's a complete do'er-upper and we're trying to save as much as we can for renovations. It's a medical expense though isn't it?! Wink

Sooo, I'm 8 (possibly 9) dpo today and symptom spotting like an idiot. My boobs are tender and I'm convinced I've got some pulling sensations down there. It's all totally in my head of course. I guess only time will tell. The 2WW sucks.

Seasides · 28/01/2014 14:32

So...superlubing in private didn't really happen as DH couldn't be bothered to leave, giving us the mega giggles as I tried to guess what half a lube tube was. And DH announced that he felt a bit sick literally right afterwards as he's still peaky from the bug - sexiest sex ever! At least we've got one in before ov though, so I'm feeling better about that.

I can't even think about how much I've spent on acupuncture, lube, sticks to pee on etc otter - but you go every week? That is dedication to the needles. We've been/are doing our place up too, so the last year has generally been draining.

Parsley2506 · 28/01/2014 15:00

otters we are mid DIY ourselves, also started due to BFP. Think of it this way, as well as allowing time to make our wombs extra extra comfy for beans, we're also getting time to make our houses comfier too assuming we ever finish

seasides now that is some sweet pillow talk! I bought some lemsip chesty cough on my way home today to see if I can up the old ewcm without needing the lubey tubeys, i'll fall for try anything once!

So, my extra special reward for not getting diffed this cycle is a smear test this afternoon!! woop woop! I've really missed having people poking around my cervix, I really have!!!

Sundance2007 · 28/01/2014 15:17

Blimey - there's an awful lot of mucus talk going on here....groooosss! haha.

Sorry for lack of posts but it's all kicking off here...we put our house on the market on Saturday, and it only went and bloody sold on Monday! A nice quick turn around, and full asking price too. Shitting ourselves a little as we haven't started looking yet and will probably have to rent somewhere for a few weeks until we get sorted. eek, scary stuff.

Did anyone else read the stuff in the papers about how pre-pregnancy vitamins can cause mc? I nearly choked on my breakfast when I read it, and I have to confess that other than folic acid I'm now not taking any other supplements. There was also a load of stuff about alcohol and how its worse to drink during pg than smoking! I wish they'd make their minds up!

OV last night and managed to wake DH up in time for a quick shag before I went to sleep, hopefully a couple more nights of it and then I can resume my normal, precious, uninterrupted sleep for another month! Grin

Is it time to start thinking about a new thread btw? Who's go is it?

OttersPocket · 28/01/2014 15:19

Argh Parsley I have my smear booked for next week also as a reward for not getting pregnant. I really can't wait. And tomorrow I get dildo cam'ed at the fertility clinic to suss out this septate uterus thing. Joy of joys. Hope the smear is fine, I find them disproportionally uncomfortable.

Yup seasides, I've been going every week for my first post-mc cycle. I'll drop down to fortnightly next cycle I think.

Although we bought the house as a result of the BFP last year (although we had been looking for a bit), it was my saviour in the weeks following my mc. I was off work for most of December and threw myself into doing mega diy - I think using power tools helped me work out some of my anger and frustration!

Does breast pain count as as preggo symptom if the only reason they are sore is because you keep prodding them really hard in an attempt to believe you're upduffed? Wink

Seasides · 28/01/2014 15:31

Shock sundance, I've just googled that article - that is worrying! I've never taken Pregnacare as I read lots of people saying it affected their ewcm levels, I'm 'only' taking vit b, folic acid + vit d. I hope that's ok. Maybe I'll drop the vit b, I just started taking it. It's all so confusing!

Congrats on selling the house at the speed of light! Lots going on for you Smile

Maybe it's my turn to start a new thread - I've been here for almost a year, after all. Should probably bite the bullet.

Sorry for all the fanjo foraging you guys will have to endure. Hoping it'll be my turn soon if doc agrees to HSG test, iykwim.

wingandtalon · 28/01/2014 15:46

sundance eek about that article. I'd just started taking multi-vits in the hope that it would help. Will go back to folic acid/vitd only now. Congats on the lightning fast house sale. We also bought a house and began to do it up just after we got our BFP last year. The room that would have been a nursery is the only one that hasn't been touched now. It's become a general dumping ground/laundry room which makes me feel kinda sad every time I need to go in it.

otters my breasts are sore receiving a regular prodding as well. A sure sign that I'm upduffed unhealthily obsessed.

Seasides · 28/01/2014 16:08

Our new house has a boxroom too, next to our bedroom - I refuse to call it the nursery yet. My mum and I put up beautiful unisex wallpaper with watercoloured boats and lighthouses on - grown up enough for me to be able to pretend it's just a guest bedroom, but sweet enough for a kid's room.

Sundance2007 · 28/01/2014 16:25

Scary stuff isn't it? I figured that if I just eat a bit more healthily then this will counteract any vits I would have taken. I know that my last mc was a chromosonal issue (Turners), so can't help wondering whether pregnacare stuff I was taking for months before than may have had any affect.

Good luck with the smears - I just got my results back yesterday and luckily all clear, now just need to wait for my gynae appt which is in Feb when hopefully they'll do some investigations into my lady bits to check for dodgy ovaries etc.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 28/01/2014 16:38

Hey ladies,
Where have you found this article? Want to have a read. Just got my mum t being a stash over when she visited. Might not continue. How scary!
Also those taking medicine.... Make sure there's no antihistamine in it, it does the opposite with mucous. Made next to no difference with me Hmm

wingandtalon · 28/01/2014 16:45

Right, I've found the original journal article about multi-vits and MC. I'm putting my thinking cap on and giving it a proper critical read. When I'm done I'll report back, I have a PhD in Developmental Biology so hopefully I should be able to work out if we should be worried or not.

JBrd · 28/01/2014 16:53

Sundance Vitamins will have no effect whatsoever on the occurrence of mutations!

In fact, vitamins will do no harm, only if there is a lack of! I have not read this article, but I'm very Hmm about this whole story. Please don't just take it at face value, like someone pointed out before, they do change their minds all the time, and very often, research is either not validated before publication, or someone just reports the results incorrectly. I'll just mention the whole MMR bollocks as an example, lok how that blew up.

I have done a lot of critical reading, and there is nothing I have ever come across that suggests that vitamins can cause or contribute to a mc.

Step away from this, ladies, that way madness lies!

And keep taking your conception multi-vitamins Smile

Seasides · 28/01/2014 17:03

Thanks wing and jbrd - voices of reason Smile Look forward to your verdict wing

wingandtalon · 28/01/2014 17:04

I've read the original article. The Daily Fail is blowing it out of all proportion as usual. The original article did find a tiny rise in MC among those that took multi-vits, but I do mean tiny. So the message is, as JBrd says, keep taking multi-vits and ignore the Daily Fail!

wingandtalon · 28/01/2014 17:09

It's not a very good article and to be honest I don't think the science is very sound. The whole thing is a bit confused and in my honest opinion should never have been published in the first place! Oh how I love bad science, especially when the press get hold of it and run!

Seasides · 28/01/2014 17:32

God I hate the Daily Wail. Freaking people out like that is so irresponsible - the benefits of multivits probably far outweigh the risks for many, particularly people who don't eat well. Thanks wing, that's really helpful, and has put my mind at ease.

Parsley2506 · 28/01/2014 17:41

I have to say, the second I saw the story was in the daily mail I knew I could ignore it! Wink

otters I forgot to ask! what are these magic snake oil pills for ewcm?

Smear was fun! The nurse couldn't find my cervix at first, I had to put my bum 'in the air' (as seasides would say! Wink) - maybe that's why I'm not getting pg? I have a shy cervix!

seasides go for the new thread! Maybe round up everyone's stats from a few pages back to whack in as first post as a handy reference guide for everyone/newbies? (because there will be newbies, and that makes me Sad)

Seasides · 28/01/2014 17:56

Eek, scary - I guess this makes me a real MN-ter. Voila, my first ever thread is here

Seasides · 28/01/2014 17:57

p.s. A shy cervix!

Yeah, bit embarrassed at giving the Mail any credence...

Sal1977 · 28/01/2014 18:11

Bumholes. For a minute I though I could save a few quid by just buying some basic frolic acid for 99p instead of expensive multi vit pills! Never mind, I also never pay attention to anything printed in the Daily Racist, it's all a load of bollocks.

Otter - yes of course tender baps could mean you're upduffed, but slapping your own tits up isn't going to make you pregnant. Leave them alone you filthy titter-upper! Grin

Also booked a smear for next week which will be CD14. Am now fucking retardedly mental worried that a) DH and I will have DTD the day before and left over baby batter will dribble on the nurse or b) lube they use will kill off and ambush any new recruits.

Thoughts?
