  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

MissP yep, we started today! I looked back at my previous cycles and it turns out we pretty much SMEP'd on all three cycles I got PG (bar an extra sesh on the first one).

Feeling upbeat about this one!!

Well done penguin!

I regularly pee on mine late-up to 10pm works I think. Seem to work ok, but then I've been ttc for 6+ months now, so maybe I'm wrong!

Seasides · 04/01/2014 16:13

Good luck Sal, X-post! Do you count syringing in your smep? Would make it easier I imagine...

tannyLoo · 04/01/2014 16:38

Penguin glad your lesson went well. I can remember having to prise my fingers off the steering wheel at the end of each lesson I was so nervous!

I found my last healthy pg cycle on fertility friend the other day dating back to the days when it was a piece of piss and I worried cos it took 2 months to get upduffed and without knowing it had a Red Dwarf type name, had followed SMEP almost to the letter! No opks or hand job helpers, but everything else.

I have some opks like those and I can get sterile piss pots at work, although I also rinse them and reuse for as long as they keep going.

Never used opks before though, but I am a poas addict, so am loving the fact that I get more opportunities to obsess Grin

Helen87 · 04/01/2014 16:59

What does SMEP stand for?!

fedupofrainydays · 04/01/2014 18:21

Am I the only one not SMEPing (sperm meets egg plan helen) this month?! Feel left out and maybe I should consider it again! But I too find it very tiring with our jobs if the 3 days in a row part falls not at the weekend!!

So my cramps have stopped and no af so who knows what that was. I hope af isn't crazy late this month though. Think its due earlyish next wk.

tanny sorry to hear af arrived but given you haven't had one since aug it's prob oddly welcome for a rest and a good clear out?!

triplespin · 04/01/2014 19:01

fedup no smep for us either. Both times I have fallen pg it has been dtd one day pre opk positive and one day after. Smep would be too exhausting for us. Dh has a very busy job and with DS, we hardly manage the 2-3 times around ov period, let alone 3 days in a row!
I also read somewhere AM is better than PM. Any truth to that?

fedupofrainydays · 04/01/2014 20:06

Us too. Whenever we have done it loads it doesn't work. I've heard that too but don't know why. DH is much quicker in the morn in any case!! Perhaps sperm reform over night or whatever so are best used in the morn?! Who knows.....

HollyBen · 04/01/2014 20:10

No SMEP here. Sounds like hard work to me! I think DH and I would need a week off work to keep up. Hope it works for those following. Never say never....

fedupofrainydays · 04/01/2014 20:18

Anyone watching splash? I thought it was shit the first time but somehow watching it again....!

Chosenbyyou · 04/01/2014 20:29

We arnt doing smep but would happily give it a go if this doesnt work. just dtd as normal atm but prob three days in a row before expected ov. Wouldnt normally do am unless on holiday but suppose a Sunday is similar to holiday ;)

Should be ov wed or thurs and then it's the tww for me, I don't normally mind the tww but always struggle mood wise just before af :( also doing opk which gives me a better idea on af date.

Holly are you back to dtd or still af?

Well done Penguin on the driving lessons, when are you looking to take your test? Xx

Chosenbyyou · 04/01/2014 20:30

I'm watching it lol!

MissHobart · 04/01/2014 21:44

TripleSpin - us too annoyingly, full on ttc dtd every 2/3 days, no BFP. The 2 months I did actually get pregnant, one was abandoned due to me getting obsessive and lots of parties/weddings coming up, the other during a massive depressive episode in the middle of being informed that all and sundry were upduffed! Go figure Hmm

HollyBen · 04/01/2014 22:05

Hi chosen AF has just left the building on cd5. I don't ov until cd 16 (according to last months OPKs) so I can relax for a bit. Still got some IC OPKs left so going to use them again this month. I also treated myself to some superdrug POAS OPKs this month so I can test at work

ruth1104 · 04/01/2014 22:51

Giggling at our piss pots, I went through a few for my bfp, and it doesn't seem so crazy any more. Also in awe of people doing SMEP, I am way too lazy.
I know lots of people have said their cycles are all over the place after mc but since I was only 5 weeks I thought it might be quicker, I'm getting awful impatient for AF. How long for other people?

HollyBen · 04/01/2014 23:27

I am not the best person to ask ruth as I waited just over 4 weeks grom erpc #1 but 79 days from erpc #2 to af. I truely understand your impatience

daftgeranium · 05/01/2014 16:50

hello all. sorry to be a bit quiet. v worried over here, I have been bleeding in between periods for 2 weeks now (started on day 12). I thought since I had MC in October and two AFs in between, it would be OK, but something is very wrong. the doc has stuffed me full of antibiotics but bleeding carries on regardless...

:(

triplespin · 05/01/2014 16:53

misshobart I guess it only takes one attempt to get lucky!! So no more full on TTC for us. It is too tiring and usually we exhaust ourselves before positive opk!

Saw a news linked on Facebook of royal baby no. 2 already on that way. Seriously??

I dreamt yesterday of a bfp. At least I am preg in my dreams. Hopefully the real one will come along soon

tannyLoo · 05/01/2014 17:34

Daft, I hope you can get more answers or that the antibiotics help clear things up soon. I've never had that happen to me, but anything that gets in the way of having regular cycles is hard in our situation. Fx for you.

My af is behaving itself, and is still very heavy 3 days in, heavier than my last 2 MCs in fact! I think the ridiculous amount of supplements and quack drugs I'm taking seem to be helping!

MissHobart · 05/01/2014 17:40

triple - us too! After a week I can't be arsed dtd anymore! Hmm

Parsley2506 · 05/01/2014 17:46

triple I bloody hope not! can't abide another 8 months of continuous press obsession.

daft I'm not surprised youre feeling anxious. I'm assuming you'll be getting more checks done? Hopefully it's just something simple and easily sorted, let us know how it goes.

ruth for me the witch returned 30 days after the miscarriage began 'properly', or 36 days after I first got spotting. Still not entirely sure which I should date from! My normal cycle is 28-30 days. When it came it was very heavy but very short. I normally have periods that are not too heavy and last about 4 - 5 days, but this one was only 3.

Penguin13 · 05/01/2014 18:39

Daft hope you get some answers soon. That must be so frustrating as you thought your cycles were back on track, not to mention worrying.

Ruth my first AF post MC was 5 weeks one day after my ERPC procedure. I hope the witch makes an appearance soon for you. I hated that in limbo feeling of not really knowing what was happening.

Glad I'm not the only one who struggles with intensive TTC. Even if TTC wasn't a passion-killer my sex drive is just not that high normally Blush DH rather optimistically wondered aloud this week whether we should just DTD every day. I told him every other day is probably better for his swimmers but seriously! Help! On the plus side it could really help with the new year get fit programme.....

Handsfullandlovingit · 05/01/2014 21:49

Evening all. daft, that is a worry, I do hope the doctors sort it out for you. I'm 2.5m post mc and definitely not normal yet. Much much heavier, running out of unstained jimjams. Blush

We did SMEP last month. It did NOT work! What I like about it was post ovulation frenzy, you could officially kick back and read Jane Austen in bed, which at the moment seems vastly preferable. penguin, I'm with you! I think I'll try to SMEP it again, just to feel like we are doing everything we can to address this grim situation.

Ruth, I was about 28 days post erpc for my first period. It was a horrible sad limbo place where I never want to go again. Have a hug to make it more bearable.

My spectacular and inspirational grandma is in intensive care, and holy moly, I can't take any more sad stuff right now. I would crumble. She has to get better. We think she will make it, so hopefully she will live to hold her next great grandchild if and when it arrives.

SuzyBean · 05/01/2014 22:10

handsfull hope your grandma pulls through and gets better soon.

I've got Sunday night blues. I've loved having a bit of time over the last few weeks to chill out and not think about work. Ho hum.

I was wondering earlier how all those in this thread that have had a bfp over the last 6 months or so are getting on. If any are lurking I'd love to hear how it's going.

Sal1977 · 05/01/2014 22:18

Sorry to hear about your nana handsful!

I had spotting on and off 3 months after my 3rd early MC and got PG that cycle. It sadly wasn't meant to be though. :(

Miss P how you getting on? I was looking forward to a day off today after DTD yesterday starting SMEP, but joked that I was feeling fertile so hubby said "do we have to do it?". Thought I better do an OV test and low and behold a smiley 3 days ahead of schedule! WTF? So had to do it! Bleurgh!
DH is suffering with an irritating sniffy cold so after 10 minutes of me having a lovely old time, he asked if he could crack one out into a pot! Cheeky shit! Ah well, delivered the goods to the correct location, I guess that's all that matters in this game!! Lol.
