  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Thanks Smile haha that's something to look forward to then! didn't realise quite how much I didn't know about the whole pregnancy thing until we started to think about wanting a baby. it's an absolute minefield so hopefully being on here will help!!

tannyLoo · 01/01/2014 14:55

Oh bugger. Please talk me down.

Dark nipples have appeared since sometime over the last couple of days. Can squeeze out some milk drops too (sorry TMI).

We have been having unprotected sex, but not when I thought I was ovulating. Am due on today and poas was bfn this morning.

Please talk me down... Sad

tannyLoo · 01/01/2014 14:57

l should add that it's 4 weeks today since my last mc started.

Sal1977 · 01/01/2014 15:04

How far along we're you tanny when you MC?

OP posts:
tannyLoo · 01/01/2014 15:11

6+3, but it was a blighted ovum, so quite low hcg. I have had bfn since 1 week post mc.

I do usually get some milk coming in and it could be leftover from last time.

MissHobart · 01/01/2014 15:50

Parsley - crochet is v easy and you can do it front of the telly without the annoying click click of knitting needles! Plus there's loads of really quick stuff you can make. Annoyingly I started it as a hobby to make baby stuff Hmm . Have progressed onto making stuff for me! This is a new years/new start resolution I'm hoping will be easier to keep than not smoking! Smile

Have been cleaning cleaning cleaning and sorting today, going to start the New Year off right by spending tomorrow shopping! Grin

Right, back to work before taking Parsley's advice and having a massive hot chocolate with cream and sprinkles Smile

Misspositivity · 01/01/2014 16:40

deus so sorry to hear of your mc. Welcome

Seems to be a few guys doing SMEP this month. What cycle day are you on. Friday is start day for us.

Ps. My hangover is killing me.

fedupofrainydays · 01/01/2014 17:10

tanny when you say usually get milk coming in - is that when preg? Or just when af due. Sounds daft but just checking has never heard anyone getting it that early! It could be pregnancy... But would have thought it would be bfp before the milk and dark nipples situ??
You could have ovulated earlier / later and caught it...

Sometimes before af my areola grow / darken slightly but they didn't ever go properly dark in any if my pregnancies so I'm a weird one!!

fedupofrainydays · 01/01/2014 17:13

Welcome newbies. Sorry to hear of losses but you have joined our thread at the right time - the posifrickintivity of 2014 will get us through!!

parsley love the mask story! Bet your DH looks hilarious!! And good idea for a SMEP tool!!

Seasides · 01/01/2014 17:17

Happy New Year all - what an active thread already! Sorry to hear of your rubbish Xmas deus - glad and impressed you're looking on the bright side of life though. I've got high hopes for the next few months, 2014 better not let me down.

Just finished clearing up after big BBQ for friends and neighbours, went well. Lol at your DH's eye mask parsley! What a vision I'm imagining.

Odd month...still not got a positive opk, and CD17 now. We've been DTD anyway for the last week or so, but either my sticks aren't working or I'm not working. I'm taking agnus castus, so maybe it's buggering things up for a while until it works its magic?

tanny - only two days till Friday, I'd re-poas then. hope you're not going nuts until then. Our bodies are SO confusing!

Seasides · 01/01/2014 17:30

Ah, typical, I poa-opk-s just after posting and there's the little second line. CD17 is quite late, is it not? Does anyone else ovulate then? I wonder if my short lp is more late ov than short lp. Whevs, we'll see what agnus castus does in a few months.

Also, forgot to say like the thread title Sal!

1974rach · 01/01/2014 20:55

Please may I join you too? Am currently lying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself as I have man fluSad

DH knows we are prime time to dtd this week. I am so not in a swi frame of mind. He, on t'other hand, is like a dog with two tails thinking all his birthdays have come at once.

Fairypants · 01/01/2014 21:27

Happy new year everyone and hi to all the newbies. Smile
I've just come back from a week away during shag week and am proud to have got a smilie opk in the loos at Disney Paris! I think that's one for project desperate although I couldn't dtd that night (sharing a room with dd's) we did the night before and after so should have it covered in theory.
I'm not usually one to look back with regret but am finding it hard to look positively on 2013 so I'm just going to have to concentrate on a positive 2014. Rather than repeat the 'try harder' ttc mantra, I'm aiming to put more effort into other aspects of my life which have all been on hold for all of last year. I think I need to get a life.
I'm really hoping we all get healthy babies this year and have lots of fun on the way. Wink

ruth1104 · 01/01/2014 23:36

seasides can I ask, as a quite newby, what agnus castus does? All I can see on google is for pmt? Sorry haven't used opks (yet) so can't tell you too much about ovulation days..

HollyBen · 02/01/2014 08:16

Hi seasides I only started using opks last month and the only positive I got was on cd16. I think that is about right for a 30/31 day cycle

AF is being a complete bitch here. Every day is a step closer to my bfp though..... how's that for positivity Wink

HollyBen · 02/01/2014 08:20

Hope you are feeling better rach If your name is indicative of your age then I think we are of the same vintageWink

1974rach · 02/01/2014 09:51

holly still bug ridden but got a couple of days off so am just laying about after the madness of Christmas.

You guessed correctly I hit the big 4 0 this year and ttc #1Grin exciting times

xx

Chosenbyyou · 02/01/2014 10:20

Hi ladies, welcome to the newbies! Sorry that you find yourselves here but we are all very understanding for the ups and downs! Just background on me, had mmc in sept at 12.4 but baby had died 9 wks :( ttc no 1.

Not much news with me...CD7 so am going to start my opks in a few days to try to cover my pre MC 28 day cycle and 30 day one I had last month,

Holly - sorry af is being a pain, mine have been twice as heavy since MC for some reason.

Parsley, DH sleep mask sound good!

Fedup are you in the two week wait?

Fairy - I am in the same boat, can't think of a good thing in 2013 for us so its onwards and upwards for 2014...it's just feels like a better year already!

Ruth, how long have you been trying hun? i was only trying one month before mc and then three months since where cycles have been longer than before. I have only used opks for one month but found them useful, got a clear positive and af exactly 14 days later to the hour lol! Also, they tied up with my body signs like cm and pains. So am gunna try again this month, only cheapies so think its worth it for me? Xx

fedupofrainydays · 02/01/2014 12:06

Yeah. In 2 ww of my wtf cycle. We didn't wait for one full cycle to have unprotected sex as my thinking is body won't take it if not ready for it and because it was an early mc I think whateves. It feels so unnatural not to ttc, it's been over a year now so not trying for a month feels very wrong / weird even if was prob the right thing to do!! Don't feel the usual 2 ww stress though which is a good thing. And think I'm about 8 dpo but not sure as no temping or opk, just going on ewcm. So could be way out!!

Just been to gym and sweated out almost all the booze from Xmas and NY. Feel good for it. Wish my skin would say the same, it looks like last nights pizza! Xmas excesses have clearly taken its toll. Will be doing a face mask later to try improve the situ!!

Seasides · 02/01/2014 13:02

Angus castus can help sort a short luteal phase apparently Ruth, and improve flow-mine's dodgy, I spot for 7 or 8 days just brown blood (tmi?!).

Thanks holly, that's reassuring. I think my luteal phase is just too short then, coz my cycle's only 26 or 27 days, last month just 11 or 12 day lp.

Well done for gymming fedup, I haven't done so muchas a short walk in weeks!

Penguin13 · 02/01/2014 18:47

Any news Tanny?

Well done for gymmage fedup am off for a few rounds of badminton with DH tonight for the first time in about million years and bought some healthy snacks at Holland and Barrett this am so am pretty much a walking new years cliche!

Having promised myself I was going to try to be zen about ttc again have spent most of my first day back at work googling 'when can I expect to ovulate after mmc'Blush. That way madness lies. The good news is that following my BFN my first AF post MC has made an appearance today so even though I don't think I ovd this month it's another step forward and hopefully will be able to start figuring out my cycle again.

tannyLoo · 02/01/2014 19:41

Hey Penguin, no, nothing yet on the af front and am experiencing nausea, backache and cramping.

Will be up and poas in the morning. Like a crazy.

Hmm
MissHobart · 02/01/2014 19:43

Penguin - me too! Have bought supplies at ASDA to make up my own "graze" boxes for work and thinking about going back to the gym! Hmm
I'm hoping to be able to resist the bag of crisps that I know is on my locker at work! Grin

JBrd · 02/01/2014 20:39

Hi there, mind if I join you all - again? I used to be here on and off last year, most have probably moved on, but I recognise some names

I had 3 mc last year, the last one in August, followed by the tests they do for recurring mc. Nothing came up with those, so we are now back to ttc, still hoping for that elusive sticky bean that will hang around for 9 months.
Dreading the whole thing, to be honest. A BFP is no longer a joyful event in this house, more like 'Here we go again...'. But I'm not ready to give up just yet - in spite of my age (42 tomorrow - gulp). I have one DS and would love nothing more than a sibling for him.

Wishing everyone a good 2014, it just has to be better than 2013 Wink

Parsley2506 · 02/01/2014 20:39

tanny I am crossing every single thing I can for you. Please allow me to get my hopes up on your behalf!

I am hopping on the New Year Walking Cliche bus!
Gym joined: check!
Off the booze: check!
Going on a silly fad diet that won't work and will last precisely 1 week: check!
What else can I do to be even more cliched?

Seasides I'm also taking agnus castus more out of superstition than anything (I first started taking it the cycle I got my BFP). According to the numerous blood tests, examinations and dildo cam scans I had exploring our unexplained infertility it was determined I didn't really have anything wrong with my cycle at all, and it's always been v regular but I just figured what the hell, nothing else was working!
I do recall reading it can help your body's production of progesterone to help make the uterus more inviting for the little egg beans, so that's what I'm clinging to!

Not OPKing this month, but if my cycle is anywhere normal, this weekend/ early next week is key DTD time so readying my array of sexy face mask tricks.
Btw, for those who've read SMEP: I googled (as suggested by the author) 'hand job helpers' and just found videos of some very angry German women. Do I need to invite one round to give DH a talking to? So confused! Confused Blush
