  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Well done everyone on your gymming and general being good-ness. Haven't even made any resolutions yet but I'm sure they'll come soon...
chosen I got my bfp in our first cycle of trying, then lost it 8 days later. It was all a bit of a whirlwind, especially as in those 2 months dh had heart surgery and we moved across the country and are trying to buy a house... So we haven't been ttc this cycle, and will maybe wait until we know we have somewhere to live. I've been completely exhausted since the mc, just beginning to find my feet again.

Since we hadn't been trying for long, I don't want to start using opks just yet as I know it will make me into a proper nut job, I'm trying to limit the things I can obsess over :D But never say never!

Thanks seasides does that mean this is a time when my super heavy periods are a good thing? Does that affect these things?
Fingers crossed for you tanny and fedup!

Penguin13 · 02/01/2014 21:30

Good luck for tomorrow Tanny!

Back from a successful hour of badminton but have a stonking headache which is not ideal. Hopefully some of our new year cliched healthiness will help our little beans to stick around in our newly temple-like bodies. If nothing else may it give us the stamina to keep up with all the ttc action!

I read SMEP but admit I wasn't brave enough to Google hand job helpers parsley! The mind boggles. ...

Seasides · 02/01/2014 21:48

Good luck tanny (ha ha, my phone autocorrects your name to fanny! That was close...), so hope you can start us off with the first bfp of the new year.

Ruth, I think it's working towards a happy medium, but my acupuncturist is all for heavier periods. 'Good periods equal good baby', she tells me...! Mine just aren't what they were pre-ectopic, it's like it's broken something in my hormones. What a crazy time you've had, I'm not surprised you're knackered. Hope your dh is ok now.

Lol to scary German fraulines parsley, need those to give dh a talking to sometimes! He tried to see my MN username today and we had a proper tussle with the laptop. Need my thread to stay private...

fedupofrainydays · 02/01/2014 22:24

I think I might POAS for a laugh tomorrow too. Been feeling strange, of course it's just pmt / 2 ww usual cocktail of confusing symptoms but hey, it's Friday.

My NY health kick stops at gymming! I still eat far too many crisps and will no doubt have a glass of wine or two this weekend! I'm trying to have less caffeine tho, and doing ok!

Ha ha - I now have images of Angry Maria from the sound of music giving some men a serious talking to more like singing and skipping with her guitar she gets the hot man in the end so must do something right other than have a ginger bowl cut.

Parsley2506 · 02/01/2014 22:34

fedup you rule breaker you! Would love some BFPs to start the year off, so good luck!

JBrd hello there, and welcome back, although obviously I would rather you didn't have to be here again, and a massive happy birthday for tomorrow! I sincerely hope you don't need to be back on this thread for long. Have you got anything nice planned for tomorrow?

penguin playing badminton on day AF shows up - bravo my dear, bravo! The most I can usually manage is getting up to go to the fridge for more booze chocolate!

Parsley2506 · 02/01/2014 22:36

PS the German women were nothing like saintly Maria. Seriously, don't google it yourself unless you have a strong stomach! (I didn't watch any of the videos, the screen grabs in the search results were enough to send me screaming from the room)

Misspositivity · 03/01/2014 00:13

I think I am reading the wrong SMEP book. There are no German porn stars in mine or links to!!!
jbrd. Hi. Sadly I am still here. Had a few months off TTC. Good you have the all clear and I know what you mean by there being no joy in a BFP though I think I ready for one now.
Loving the new years resolutions. Mine aren't going well gym - hav'nt been near it
No carbs - ate a bag if crisps followed by crackers & cheese.
Oh and it looks like Belfast is getting flooded tonight. Apparantly we are to pack a bag in case we get fevacuated. Told DP that's it's ok I can sail. He said he feels much better knowing that but we don't have a boat. Lol. If you don't hear from me for a while then our house is a goner. ( I secretly want to replace carpet with wooden floor and wonder if insurance would cover)

fedupofrainydays · 03/01/2014 07:01

Ha ha miss p love the posifrickintivity re the flooding! Hope it doesn't happen tho and floors are ok.

Decided not to be a rule breaker (although what rule was I breaking exactly?!) as feel like af is coming so won't waste a stick.

DH is lying next to me unwell, norm he's out the house by 6.30. Feels sick apparently. I hope it's not another stint of norovirus in our house!! Eeek.

jbrd hi and welcome back. It's a bit like that here too despite my 'only two' mc. But I just want to get on with it and deal with each 12 weeks of hell and hope one turns out to be a take home baby. I find ttc worse than actual mc. Weird I know but I do.

Right, time to get up! Fx for you tanny xx

Parsley2506 · 03/01/2014 07:50

Fedup - my mistake, it's not actually one of the thread rules to not POAS before 14 days post ov but an optional pledge, but even if it was rules are sometimes made to be broken!

Someone needs to invent a fast forward button for the 2ww, I hate it.

MissP hope you're not floating away, our local stream has broken banks again, just had to drive very carefully through the new fjord that's appeared on the village high street!

Justonemoretime · 03/01/2014 08:21

Hello Ladies (some familiar names here, ), may I join you? I'm 2 and a bit years and 3x mmc down this road, 4x erpc, 2x hysteroscopy, the most recent of which also included the removal of a septum in my uterus followed by month of hrt and IUDs while it healed. 2 mmcs ar 6 weeks, most recent detected at 13 wks but baby died at 9 and a half. Hb on all, most recent one had a good scan at 9.1. She had turner syndrome. Been through all the RMC tests at St Mary's and now on month 2 of TTC. Wtf cycle, opk and cm don't add up. I have NP dcs but I do have 2 cats and I am becoming a Mad Cat Lady a little bit more each month... nice to meet you.

Sal1977 · 03/01/2014 09:33

Hey Justone sorry to see you back but grab a camping chair (we're all planning on moving on shortly)!

Your story is really pants and it sounds like you've had a long slog so far! Here's wishing you a smooth ride from here on in (excuse the pun)!

In a way your post made me chuckle that my life has changed so much that I understood it instantly!

Unfortunately it's no longer a case of 'Hi, my name's Sal, I'm a skin therapist from Devon, I'm 36 years old, am married, drive a shitter blue car, have a brother and a sister and go on holiday to Spain each year'.

It's now 'Hi, I'm 36 have a DH #2, been TTC for 18months, had a CP in Jul '11, MMC in March '13 @ 11+5 with ERPC, MC @ 5+4 in Jul, CP in Nov, been to see Cons at RMC & am now on CD10 and will DTD in line with SMEP this cycle!!!

Haha, I know the situation's not funny but the way we talk now is nuts!!

Anyone POAS today? Xx

Any news tanny???

tannyLoo · 03/01/2014 10:07

Hey jbird and Just nice to see you here, iykwim...

Sal, so spot on! Only 3 months ago I was normal...

Hope everyone is staying dry. I'm off to mil's today for 3rd xmas. Let's hope I can get 4 kids and a dog safely to Bournemouth... Currently thunderstorms and hail. The world is ending!

Fedup I bow down to your self control! You are showing such restraint and grownupness, I am well impressed Grin

I have poas after a night of cramping and hip and back pain. Bfn and no af. .

I can only guess that I oved way late and am testing or looking for af too early.

Personally, I think I only get cramps with no af when I am upduffed, so watch this space...

Might yet be first bfp of 2014, and first fish slap. Blush

tannyLoo · 03/01/2014 10:14

Parsley cross post! Thanks for thinking of me this morning.

And seasides fanny seems quite appropriate somehow.

fedupofrainydays · 03/01/2014 10:16

Um.. It appears not so grown up as I POAS. I've let you all down! But never been a class swot so I like to break the rules. Anyway it was of course a crystal white bfn. I just feel weird and cramping a lot which feels a bit early for af but at same time, who am I kidding as is my wtf cycle. Oh well.

Good luck tanny for fish slaps and bfps ahoy!!

Now where is that sodding fast forward button...

fedupofrainydays · 03/01/2014 10:19

Ps. I was 'normal' a year ago... Well, 11 months since first mc. I am an emotional time bomb nowadays!

tannyLoo · 03/01/2014 10:30

Fedup I take it all back! Come and sit on the naughty step with me...

tannyLoo · 03/01/2014 10:30

Fedup I take it all back! Come and sit on the naughty step with me...

HollyBen · 03/01/2014 12:12

It's a sign...... Tesco delivery just arrived minus tampons (surely a sign I won't need them for a while and not that they have a 3 for 2 offer on san pro) and lemsip capsules (which are no go when up duffed). How's that for positive thinking? Or should that be wishful thinking

Hoping AF will Be off on her merry way so. Dolly no heavier post MC but much more painful. I have a pretty high pain threshold (according to the woman who tortures me does my deep tissue massages) and have been popping iburpofen a plenty.

Big 40 here this year too rach Sounds like a very exciting year for you fx you get your BFP soon. I was congratulating my self last year when I got my BFP edd in April, nice 3 year gap between DC, then celebrate birthday a couple of months later. Best laid plans and all that. Be very happy to celebrate whilst pg now.

fedupofrainydays · 03/01/2014 12:36

Blush can I get off the step now tanny?

holly I like the thinking!! I had a deep tissue massage one on my bad and OMG I was almost sick! Remember to lay off the ibuprofen soon tho as it can affect ovulation. I only take neurophen on most painful 2 days of period then back to useless paracetamol, JIC.

1974rach · 03/01/2014 15:20

Holly must be a sign Grin

I'd love to get my bfp before my birthday I just love the thought of having my bubs on board for my birthday...silly old sod that I am.

Sundance2007 · 03/01/2014 15:29

Happy New year lovely ladies!!!

Sorry for the lack of posting, I've been in some sort of turkey induced coma for the last couple of weeks, decided to give myself a mini break from thinking about ttc until the brand spanking new year.

Sorry to hear we have some newbies, but hopefully Sal has created a very lucky thread indeed (thanks Sal!)

I was also chuckling at being able to understand all the abbreviations straight away, it's like morse code to begin with but a completely familiar language now - sometimes I write them in txts to my DH and he hasn't got a clue.

So the good news so far....I've managed to lost 4lbs on my new year diet already, which is basically what I ate in roast potatoes so nothing too exciting. But....but....I just took an opk test and it's positive! Was starting to get a bit worried as I'd not had a smiley face since my 2nd mc in October. Bang on time too so relieved that everything is working as it should again.

Good luck to anyone else POAS today, but most of all, good riddance to a shite year and welcome to a lucky, healthy, BFP full year.

fedupofrainydays · 03/01/2014 16:14

I really feel like a glass of wine. I know it's only because I'm trying to have a reduced alcohol January! It must be that Friday afternoon feeling...

Misspositivity · 03/01/2014 19:44

Lots of naughty girls on this thread today. HOpe it's just too early for a BFP. Fx for you all.
Hi sundance welcome back.
sal I am cd9 today think I was to start SMEP last night but think we will start tonight or tomorrow - I ovulate around CD 17. Will keep you company.

MissHobart · 03/01/2014 19:46

fedup - I'm thinking the same with ice-cream! Think I'm going to give in and make some hot chocolate sauce! Must do this to finish off the spray-cream from Christmas! Hmm
