The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months (preferably 12+) NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

The 17th thread, wow! This had better be it ladies, time to get off the Sofa of Pity onto the Pouffe of Positivity and beyond!

Ahh, bunny fantastic news! Congratulations to you and your oh! So chuffed for you xxx

RevoltingPeasant · 26/01/2014 13:45

But what did DH say? I'm so nosy but I live other people's reveal stories!

:)

RevoltingPeasant · 26/01/2014 13:46

*love. I don't actually live for them, I'm not that bad!!

PuppyMummy · 26/01/2014 13:48

just checked back in. been out all morning.

tears for u here (darned hormones) so so pleased bunny Grin Grin massive congratulations!

IamKuma · 26/01/2014 14:07

Bunny I'm so pleased for you. Grin

Feeling a bit blue this morning but the bunny bpf has helped to neutralise the gluckschmerzy feelings after being sat next to a compulsive bump-rubber at dinner last night, then pictures of my ex's daughter on FB this morning not only did they instadiff but he was always a baby-hater and used to be disgusted at people who sent baby announcements and cards with pictures of their 'snivelling children' on them.

I was also annoyed to discover my missing Holland and Barratt delivery this morning in a rain soaked box thrown into the light well at the front of my house. They could at least have left a note to say they had thrown it down there Angry.

More good news now - or a (veggie) sausage wang please.....

BlueBirdy · 26/01/2014 14:14

HUGE congrats Bunny!! So very, very pleased for you!! You have given me hope! Smile And a Happy Birthday too, i think? Thanks Thanks

Parsley2506 · 26/01/2014 14:44

Gentlest of wangs back atcha kuma, but if we didn't get these feelings from time to time I don't think we'd be human. Hope you're feeling perkier soon!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 26/01/2014 14:57

Kuma, I have a barely open bottle of Viognier and the house to myself. You know where to find me if it gets too much Grin

barkingtreefrog · 26/01/2014 16:16

Sympathies kuma I've not had the best day either. After finally facing bump-that-mine-should-match this morning, who kept stroking it, I broke down and was talking to my friend. What I hadn't realised until then (and not sure where I got the wrong information from) was that you only get one round of IVF on the NHS round here Sad . Her brother -in-law and his wife (also friends of ours) have been ttc 4 years. I knew they had IVF and it failed but I thought they were giving themselves a break before the next round, not trying to decide whether they could afford to go private Sad .

RevoltingPeasant · 26/01/2014 16:32

Oh barking that's crap! But maybe you should check with GP first?

barkingtreefrog · 26/01/2014 17:25

We've got an appointment at the FC in March to get referred to IVF so I guess they will be able to confirm then, but this couple are in the same PCT and at the same hospital we are, so I doubt there's any chance of it being different for us. Bloody postcode lottery Sad . I always thought that if we got to the stage where we'd tried it 3 times we could walk away, accept it wasn't happening and move on to adoption. But just one attempt feels scary, and not the same at all.

On the plus side, dogs walked, 3 bridesmaids skirts done and all my sewing kit packed away ready for Sunday night takeaway and film night Smile !

BoodleDoo · 26/01/2014 17:32

This might be interesting to you, Barking. It does confirm that they only fund one cycle, but that does include any frozen transfers too, so you'd have to hope for lots of frosties.

My authority funds 2 cycles but no frozen transfers. A very strange postcode lottery indeed.

Bunny - I've already said it in the other place, but WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! So, so pleased for you. I was desperately checking FB this morning as I was heading out for the day and unlikely to have phone signal. As it was, I saw your post literally as we were sat in the car on the drive getting ready to pull off!

BlueBirdy · 26/01/2014 17:48

Barking I know how you feel Sad I've been trying to be positive about the whole 'one shot at IVF' thing but it all got a bit much recently, I feel really under pressure with it all. You should be able to get the frozen embie transfer if first go doesn't work, I hope? If you get enough to freeze, and if they survive thawing, that is Sad I almost couldn't watch this thread as I was feeling really nervous for Bunny, and Pip too.

I am so grateful for this thread though, reading about other people's stories I know there are others in the same boat. All the support and bits of advice are great! I'll be looking into IVF aboad, and also the differences between adoption and surrogacy if it comes to it. I logged onto facebook for the first time in over a year only to be greeted with baby photo's and announcements - but that's life I guess, and I need to get used to it!

Bunnygirlie · 26/01/2014 17:48

Thanks so much lovely berries, it's a bizarre feeling. Can't get too excited yet though, one step at a time Smile

RP hubby didn't say much, think we were just in shock

Awwww thanks puppy how you doing? How far are you now?

kuma sorry you are feeling blue, this whole experience is crappy!

barking sorry you are blue too, it's crap if you do only get one go. Come move here, you get more x

Thanks boodle glad you didn't miss the news Grin

BlueBirdy · 26/01/2014 17:51

Cross post, Boo! Glad to hear it does at least include the frozen cycle, and good to hear that you get two fresh goes!

barkingtreefrog · 26/01/2014 18:23

birdy and boodle it does include any frosties, but there's no guarantee there'd be any frosties to use so that's just more possibles rather than knowing we'd get more than one go.

Oh well, more pressure on this cycle to work then! fx for some ovulation!!!

PuppyMummy · 26/01/2014 18:51

bunny 22+1! all good here thanks. had 20wk scan last week, all as it should be and team blue!

so pleased for you and totally understand not gettin excited. for the first 2 weeks me and oh just presumed af would arrive then I worried up to the 12wk scan then up to the 20wk!

am now finally starting to feel excited!

barking hugs to you, you've had a rough day and I'm especially sorry that you had a not-so-nice discovery about funding sad this process is hard enough without feeling even more under the gun time-wise.

kuma really sorry you've had to reschedule. I guess it's best if you're both fully on board for your appt but I know how it feels to be "living" just for some face time with someone who truly can help, not someone who's going to jot some notes down and tell you to come back in 6 months. When you do get to the clinic, I know they'll be able to help you. Yorkie and I will keep a seat saved for you in the waiting room! thanks

Bunny just wanted to say again how happy I am for you; I imagine today you've felt like you're walking on air. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a Berry exodus and as I said you and Pip can hold the rest of the IVFers' hands as we take all the drugs, have all the scans, collections, transfers and count the minutes in the 2ww. Hoping for some of your awesome birthday luck for myself in a few weeks!!! wink

when will this rain go awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...........

happylass · 26/01/2014 19:36

Barking and Boodle the postcode lottery is indeed beyond frustrating. Your posts have prompted me to google my own criteria as I wasn't sure about the frosties situation. As it turns out I'm allowed 2 cycles plus frosties. But what I also found out is they fund 1 cycle in the 40-42 age bracket and also fund for couples where only 1 partner has had children previously, which I believe is quite unusual and a fairly recent change I think? I think these differences are what may contribute to the much longer than average waiting lists here. Also found out that by the time I've got to the top of the waiting list my chance of success will have fallen from the current 28% to just 19% Sad. However I think myself lucky to be entitled to any help as, someone on here (Boom??) once said her area didn't fund at all!!

funkymonk · 26/01/2014 21:34

Already said it on FB, but many congratulations to you again bunny! I am so so happy for you!

Been to visit my instadiffer friend today (2 children 17months apart) who told me 'just relax, it'll happen'. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh. NOT helpful!!

janey1234 · 26/01/2014 21:37

Oh bunny massive congratulations. Another here who started ttc at the same time, absolutely delighted for you x

Gillster · 26/01/2014 21:40

Happy have they actually found anything wrong with you guys yet? If not, I'm expecting some pre-wedding or honeymoon diffment from you. I wouldn't get too hung up on the stats just yet. Our clinic told me 27% and I'll be 40 in March. There's quite a delay in reporting the actual numbers (over a year I think) so they could actually be a bit better than you think.

Parsley2506 · 26/01/2014 21:55

funky I was there was something equally as irritating we could say to insta differs/basically anyone who ever says that, so they know how stupidly annoying and unhelpful they're being!

Making the most of the end of AF week here with a soft cheese, pate and wine feast!

Pipbin · 26/01/2014 22:16

Funky People saying 'relax and it will happen' should be punished without mercy. I can't talk to one of my dearest friends about this because she had two babies without problem even though her chap had a missing knacker and was away being in the army. Yes they are his.

Sid, I've done the IVF twice now. I'll happily talk you through it and answer questions. Feel free to PM if you want to.

Bunny Don't leave without me .......................................... I think we are the two most senior berries!

I was thinking today that by the summer this will all be over. Either I will be updiffed or I'll have had all my IVFs.
In a funny kind of way it is a relief to know that TTCing is going to end. Although we will never use contraception again, I just don't think I'm going to carry on working out ov dates and stuff after.
