This is a positive thread for all those diagnosed with High or Very High NK Cells and looking to start TTC or already pregnant on Prednisolone and/or Intralipid treatment.

Newcomers very much welcome!

Please did any of you ladies find pred lengthened your cycle? If so did you come off it? What did consultant recommend?
I take 40 mg from day 7 and last month af came day 38 after stopped meds and this one it looks like I ovulated day 25 rather than day 13 as opk indicated so on day 31 now, af used to be here by now before I started this :/looks like the pred is messing me up

freelancegirl · 13/04/2014 12:14

My last two cycles have been longer yes, I think it can do that. Bloody annoying when ttc! Ov seems to have moved from cd15 to around 18 and cycles 32-35 rather than 28/29.

Mel3062 · 13/04/2014 12:50

Thanks freelance think I'll just mention it then with prof q recommendation and see what he decides.
Do you have to stop the cyclogest for af to come?

MrsPixieMoo · 14/04/2014 06:54

Am 23 weeks and 4 days but still worrying and stressing. Lots of wriggly movements and also still feeling sick intermittently but more days when I don't than when I do. Just so stressed all the time.

VillageMum · 14/04/2014 13:18

Hello everyone, just back after four days away with DH and kids.

tum I'm SO relieved for you - hope you're feeling a bit more reassured now? My thrush during my pregnancy with DD (I only seem to get it during pregnancy) was pretty profuse and most definitely watery. Canesten knocked it on the head.

Duggs fabulous scan news! Yay!!

Luna it will happen!!

team it's normal to worry, but the 20 week milestone is very close now... I know that the milestones just keep moving as you reach them, and that there always seems to be something new to worry about, but all is going well so far! Sending you a hug x

Mrs P I never feel sick at all after about 14 weeks. Just enjoy the respite - the wriggly movements are good!! Hug to you too x And don't worry about being worried!!

While we were away I tested and was amazed to get a BFP. Smile This was our fifth SO cycle. Feel so grateful to have managed this at my advanced age!

A quick question for all those ladies who are on the High NK cells protocol with Mr S: the sheet says that we need to have a scan followed by intralipids in week 6-7. I've booked these for the day I'll be 6+5. Does that sound about right? I was hoping to book for 6+4 but that day is a bit more difficult to manage... then I worry that it would be better to get the intralipids in sooner rather than later... but I guess a day won't make a difference? Can it really be anywhere in week 6-7? Did anyone else go around 6+5? Argh, I sound mental already. Blush

Waves to everyone.

Mel3062 · 14/04/2014 13:37

Village really pleased for you!! I don't think a day will make much difference x

duggs1976 · 14/04/2014 14:00

Hi village great news Smile I thought intrallipids were on a bfp, then 8 wks, then 12 wks and then 16 weeks ? Have I got that wrong ?

teamdozie · 14/04/2014 14:03

Luna don't give up!! Keeping everything crossed for you!!

Village what amazing news!! Congrats!!! I don't think one day will make a difference! But you could always double check with Cheryl (Louise is on leave I think)

MrsP that's brilliant news! Can't wait to feel kicks!!

Tum hope you are feeling ok!

Waves to everyone I have missed!!

Xxx

teamdozie · 14/04/2014 14:04

Duggs I thought that but wasn't sure!

Village I would call Cheryl as she would need to send your prescription through anyway!!

OP posts:
VillageMum · 14/04/2014 15:48

Thanks everyone!

duggs I think the intralipid protocol you mention is the one for Very High NK cells... I'm just on the High NK cells one - 25mg pred from ovulation, hydroxy (added because I'm so old and want to throw the book at this one!), 400mg cyclogest from BFP, then intralipids at 6-7 weeks.

Cheryl is checking with Mr S for me... bless her, she's so patient. I must sound totally neurotic.

duggs1976 · 14/04/2014 15:53

Oh is it just one lot of intrallipids then at 6-7 wks?

VillageMum · 14/04/2014 15:58

Duggs, yep. Why 6-7 weeks, I wonder, and not earlier? I'm sure Mr S will explain all.

mumof2maybe3 · 14/04/2014 18:27

Hi ladies - this is actually MATTSMAMA but I have had so much trouble resetting the password for some reason I resorted to rejoining mumsnet under a new name - what a farce. !!

VILLAGE - fantastic news ! So pleased for you x

I am still in 2ww limbo - tested this am at approx 10 dpo and bfn but I know it's still very early! (ish) Sore tingly nipples are giving me optimism but they are on and off so I am trying not to get too hopeful. The wait/agony continues ..........

BellyD · 14/04/2014 18:47

Village brilliant news and thanks for your message on the other thread. I thought it was best to have intralipids sooner rather than later, but hopefully Cheryl has answered you by now - if not check with Louise, the nurse, she is always incredibly helpful.

Pixie sorry the mentalling continues, try and stay positive - although we can all appreciate that is easier said that done.

We are just back from Spain with two grade A DE embies on board, obviously have started symptom spotting already, but only a few twinges. OTD is 23rd, but am sure I will cave in before then! How early do you think you can text post a 4dt?

Mattsmama good luck with the 2ww. I have only ever had a bfp from 12 days PO so you may be a couple of days early. Keeping fingers crossed or you.

Hope everyone else doing ok.

duggs1976 · 15/04/2014 03:59

So exciting belly. I'd say 6 days post 4 day transfer would be 12 dpo so this Friday you could try a frer?? How u feeling?GrinGrin

LunaGL · 15/04/2014 09:35

Great news Village am so happy for you and glad that cycle 5 was THE ONE!! Smile As I'm on the complex/very high protocol I have intralipids/IVIG from BFP but am sure that Cheryl will be able to check with Mr S for you.

Mattsmama I too got a BFN on day 10 for my last pregnancy but tested again on day 12 and it was positive so do not give up hope.

Cycle started today so am going for round two of SO - bring it on!!!!

MrsPixieMoo · 15/04/2014 09:37

Thanks to everyone who sent such kind messages while I've been mentalising. Big hugs to you all on this thread.

Village hooray, hooray. Really happy for you. That's super news.

Luna it's such a miserable time when it's not worked out in a particular month. Remember that awful let down and the feeling of time passing by. You're in my thoughts and am sending you love and positivity.

Duggs best of luck with the days ahead. Am a naughty early testing minx myself and it's caused more angst than answers so I can't advise other than to say, we are all here for you.

Free how are you doing?

Tum thinking of you.

MrsPixieMoo · 15/04/2014 09:39

Sorry Duggs and Mattsmama to muddle you up on here.

Duggs, so pleased about your scan results and progress.

VillageMum · 15/04/2014 11:17

Yay, intralipids and first scan sorted for the day I'll be 6+0. Just need to keep nice and calm till then!

Luna it's such a good feeling when you can start popping the letrozole again, and know another nice batch of follies is on the way... may this be your month!!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who buoyed me up with their own stories of SO success in later cycles... it really helped to keep me positive Smile.

NerdyBird · 15/04/2014 12:14

Hi

I hope you don't mind me joining in. I am 26+4 weeks pregnant and have just been put on a course of pred due to a flare up of ulcerative colitis. As I understand it, the risks of taking pred are quite low and I'm wondering if others have experience of pregnancy whilst on it to share?
I've only ever had it once before, and I wasn't pregnant then so don't know how different it might be.

Thanks

LunaGL · 15/04/2014 12:32

Welcome Nerdy you have certainly come to the right place - most of the ladies on here have experience of Pred at various stages of pregnancy.

I myself have only taken it in the early stages of pregnancy (although I imagine side effects etc are the same no matter what stage). I was on 25mg which then went up to 40mg. Not sure what dose you're on but I found that at 25mg I didn't really experience many side effects other than an increased appetite and sensitive skin. On 40mg I had terrible insomnia and hunger pangs but I know others on here who have different experiences. The positives far out way the negatives and I wish you lots of luck with the treatment and your pregnancy.

duggs1976 · 15/04/2014 13:25

Hello ladies Grin well just had harmony results back and another scan at fetal medical centre. Low risk 1 in 10,000 for downs and patu and Edwards syndrome ( good considering I'm 37 and have had 2 confirmed mc from patu syndrome and trisomy 16). They put me forward to 12+5 today and confirmed we are having a little boyGrinGrin thinking this is actually happening now! 7th pregnancy and 4 and half years since starting to TTC first child so don't give up ladies who are struggling !

brownstag · 15/04/2014 13:32

That brought tears to my eyes, Duggs, amazing.
Village, more lovely news from you. Lucky no. 5!
And Ari, fantastic! Amazing to go from no babies to 2 in such a short space of time!
And Mel, that chart looks to me like an anovulatory one to be honest. When I had insomnia my chart was quite rocky, but a general pattern could still be seen. What makes you think you ovulated day 16? What day did you start Cyclogest? And was the wet symptom the only time you had it that month?

Mel3062 · 15/04/2014 14:04

Welcome nerdy
Duggs im so happy for you wow!!
Well got this from the man himself!!:
Thank you for your email. I appreciate your concern from the previous advise. You can stop the prednisolone or reduce it to 20 mg/ day if you want and see what happens. Actually Dr Quembi treats increased uterine NK cells with prednisolone.
Please let us know as soon as you get pregnant. Good Luck.
What do you think ladies? I may try 20 and see?
No brown I had cm from about day 10 ish, began cyclogest day 18 to be sure. Just thought day 16 as had a dip and. Would work with the opks and also predicted day on ovla fertility app and woman's log.
I'm vaginally temping this month!

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/04/2014 15:57

Hello everyone,

I hope that you don't mind me gatecrashing into yout thread. Bakingtins sent me over to you with the hope that you can answer my query. Here's the post that I need some help with please.

"I had lots of blood tests done for subfertility (TTC #2 since 2009). All results were fine apart from the rheumatoid factor. My results were slightly elevated and the consultant has requested a repeat test. Does anyone know what an elevated results mean in terms of TTC?

Not sure whether this is relevant but I am a 40 year old, have a DS who is soon to be 7. I've been TTC for the past 4-5 years or so. Had two pregnancies and ended up miscarrying at 6-8 weeks for each pregnancy. I have already been seen by the miscarriage clinic & it is the miscarriage clinic that rang me about my most recent results"

I really hope that one of you can answer my post as Bakingtins promised me that there is a lot of expertise here Wink

Thanks.
