Welcome triple spin I've seen both prof quenby and mr s, pm me if you like otherwise my experience would take most of the page!!
V easy to see mr s, I'm on 40mg pred and I'm having palpitations and no sleep. I was on 25 before and the effects were not so bad, different people react different.
Brown sorry to hear about your hair, I always lose a lot too so hoping it doesn't get worse.
Luna so sorry to hear about your appt, yes he can have an attitude sometimes and doesn't seem to rate anyone else's opinion except his :( were spending thousands with him and v vulnerable :(
My af arrived today- phew! Now thinking if redoing hidden infection test as it's been a year since last done nearly. Also I had a scratch before hysteo in May not sure if to redo that as my friend had one and after 5 mc is now 20 weeks. Can I get just a scratch done? Maybe I'll do that if I have ivf later in the year?
Waves to all

MrsPixieMoo · 14/03/2014 06:29

My baby is moving. So happy I had to come and post. Grin

duggs1976 · 14/03/2014 07:31

So sorry Charlie. You will get there you are strong.hope the time passes quickly. That is one thing it is good at doing and slowing right down when we are waiting. Just posted on other thread but thought I'd pop in and say I had a good scan with dr a yesterday. Saw and heard strong FHB 154bpm and baby measuring bang on for dates 7+4 which is a first for meGrin long way to go but this does feel different as I'm feeling sick this time. Anyway I know anything can happen so just hoping to get past 9 wks and then the harmony tests which given my history will be a huge milestone as really think that has been my downfall so far. Waves to everyone hope folk are doing ok. Smile

duggs1976 · 14/03/2014 07:32

Dr a =. Dr S iPhone error

Tumtimes1 · 14/03/2014 08:39

Hey cheerful so sorry to hear your news lady.

Hi everyone else will post back later xx

freelancegirl · 14/03/2014 15:01

I wouldn't worry too much about the side effects really. I mean, they are not much fun, but liveable with.

Yay for movement Mrs P! It makes it much easier to cope with when you can feel something moving around in there.

And Duggs! A heartbeat and measuring to date is brilliant!!!

bakingtins · 14/03/2014 19:34

Lovely news today from mrsP and duggs pleased for you both!

naty1 · 14/03/2014 23:07

I havent had a miscarriage but have hypothyroidism (and pcos) im considering asking drs for prednisone for my 3rd ivf. 1st successful 2nd unsuccessful.
The thyroid issues came on/ got worse after the baby.
Is anyone else taking it for hypothyroidism without necessarily having high NK cells?

bakingtins · 15/03/2014 07:16

Not sure how steroids treat hypothyroidism? (do you have thyroid autoantibodies?) Are you having your thyroxine increased with a BFP or embryo transfer and T4/TSH closely monitored? I have a friend who lost a couple of pregnancies where her thyroid disease was thought to be a factor but steroids were never suggested. Hope you find some answers and good luck if you try again.

Mel3062 · 15/03/2014 07:41

Umm that reminds me I've been taking thyroxine since September as rmc mentioned tablet trial but don't actually know if I have antibodies, I'm going to email rmc clinic now as my levels haven't been retested either :/
Also my rmc consultant thinks neupogen can increase uterine cells argh!!!!

freelancegirl · 15/03/2014 10:56

Hi Naty, welcome to the thread. I have thyroid issues too, been on thyroxine since I was 21 and diagnosed with hashimoto's so raised antibodies. I was also treated for high nk cells at The Miscarriage Clinic after several miscarriages and had my little boy. They reckon thyroid issues can often go hand in hand with raised nkc and there is a theory that nkc can sometimes kick in so early they can cause infertility rather than miscarriage. I'm not a doctor so am just going by what I remember from my own research into this. So I guess taking steroids could possibly help and I have heard of some IVF clinics using them. I also know people having IVF with Newlife Clinic in Epsom - sister clinic to the Miscarriage Clinic - and having nkc treatment hand in hand.

VillageMum · 16/03/2014 12:30

Charlie I'm so sorry to hear that this one wasn't to be. Hoping you are feeling ok, or at least as well as possible.

duggs that's a wonderful scan result!

MrsP so lovely that you're feeling movements now!

Team really glad that all is going so well; hope you're feeling a bit more reassured now.

Tested this morning and got another BFN. This was our fourth SO cycle and I was full of hope... it has got me down a bit. But I guess we just have to try again next month. Any success stories about hitting the jackpot in later SO cycles would be welcome!!

Waves to all.

LunaGL · 17/03/2014 09:07

Charlie how are you doing? Thinking of you

Village sorry about the test result. Do I remember correctly that Louise mentioned that SO tends to be more successful from 4th - 6th cycle? I may be completely wrong but am crossing everything for you xx

Arianrhod · 17/03/2014 12:44

Yes luna that's what Louise told me when I was doing SO, she said statistics seem to show that the most success comes within cycles 4 to 6. So village hang in there, sorry this one didn't work but statistically the next one should do it ;)

teamdozie · 17/03/2014 14:44

Hi everyone

Luna I'm so eased that you are going to get what you want with regards to treatment! But I'm sorry and shocked that he was the way he was with you! When do you think you will be starting?

Baking that's great news on your scan!

Duggs congrats on the good news with the scan!

Village sorry to hear it's not worked again this month! But I'm rooting for you!! It will happen soon!

Tum how are you? Have you finished tapering? I finished last week! And I must admit I do t feel any different! Maybe not as hungry! Although I'm eating anything in sight! Just greedy though I think! Lol!

Sorry to all I e missed and lots of waves!

Xx

Hi Team am due to start my cycle today so anytime soon really. We're going to be trying SO again so back to counting and timed sex joys of babymaking Hmm
Was surprised that I haven't been given any information about IVIG to read in preparation. Am a little worried as have heard there can be unpleasant side effects, but have a feeling it was scare mongery which obviously doesn't help. Can you tell me about your experiences if you don't mind?

freelancegirl · 17/03/2014 17:17

No experience with Ivig but just wanted to say Jaffa had success on her 5th cycle of super ovulation with Mr S. Was Kittens also on super ov?

Breezyweezy · 17/03/2014 17:51

Hi Luna just popping by to tell you about my experiences with IVIG.

I had 3 infusions altogether. The first was on the day of my EC (IVF cycle) and it was absolutely fine. No unpleasant side effects. I was given IV antihistamine beforehand to negate any allergic reaction, followed by the infusion. I found the IV antihistamine made me quite light-headed, but in a nice spaced out, relaxed way! The IVIG can make you feel quite cold, so make sure you take a nice warm jumper, fleece or blanket to snuggle in to. The worst part of the whole thing is the time it takes to administer. I think mine took on average 4 hours and I had my BP, pulse and temperature checked at 20 minute intervals, which also gave me the opportunity to be unhooked and use the loo! I did find that after the second and 3rd infusions I had quite a weak wrist where the catheter had been, but that cleared up after a few weeks.

I had the 2 further infusions at 6wks and 10wks pregnant and am currently 39 weeks and awaiting the imminent arrival of my little girl any day now!

Honestly, don't be worried...you will be fine!

BellyD · 17/03/2014 18:49

Hi Luna my experience of IVIG is very similar to Breezy's. It does take a long time, but you are monitored closely throughout. It is a good idea to have eaten and be well hydrated before you start as I think otherwise it can cause headaches. There is one other thing to add. I had to have my IgA (I think) level tested prior to having it, as you are not allowed to have IVIG if there is a problem with your level. Can anyone else confirm this? I don't want to be handing out duff information. I was terrified before I first had it, as I am allergic to lots of things, but it was fine. I am having another infusion this time next week, in preparation for our DE cycle. The other worry is catching dodgy diseases, but I think it is so very carefully screened, this is highly unlikely-they give it to sick babies if need be, so it must be pretty safe. In fact, I suspect it may have improved my asthma to a point that it is now virtually non-existent, having been severely asthmatic since a child. I can't work out what else has caused it to virtually disappear (although my acupuncturist thinks she may have cured me!) So, it really isn't too bad at all. Are you having it at home? I am desperate to get pregnant whilst having had it to see if it works for me.

LunaGL · 17/03/2014 19:14

Thanks Breezy and Belly for the info. It has reassured me a lot and doesn't sound dissimilar to my experience with the intrlipid infusion - just longer Sad but if it works then who cares?! I think it's the idea of 1000 people's blood that is so disconcerting. I'll be having it at New Life and hopefully my DH will load a good movie onto his laptop for us to sit and watch.

freelancegirl · 17/03/2014 19:21

Breezy you're now 39 weeks pregnant! Wow. So pleased for you.

VillageMum · 17/03/2014 19:48

Thank you so much Luna, Ari, Team, Free for the SO encouragement. From being quite down about it all I now actually feel tingles of optimism again... (or is that just the effect of too much Vitamin B? Smile) Here's to magic cycle #5!

Luna good luck with this SO cycle - based on past performance you should be pregnant in about a fortnight Smile!!

Breezyweezy · 17/03/2014 20:17

Luna if I am honest, I didn't even think about what it was and what was in it. To me it was just a possible means to an end, that end being a pregnancy that progressed past 7-8 weeks and hopefully in to a full term, live baby.
My NKC cytotoxicity tests showed that IVIG would be the only thing that nuked them, so that was what I went with. We were throwing everything at our first (and probably only) IVF cycle, so I wanted to know that if it didn't work we had done everything within our power to try to make it work.
Definitely get a good DVD or book for your DH. I slept through most of mine though!

Belly I am not sure about the IgA level test, though perhaps I had this done as part of the hundreds of tests I had to have. Best of luck for your next DE cycle.

Yep, Free I can hardly believe it and won't until she is here with us safe and sound! I am just so impatient to meet her now!

VillageMum · 18/03/2014 07:53

Breezy your story is amazing - hope the next week or so goes quickly for you and that your daughter is with you very soon!

teamdozie · 18/03/2014 08:34

Luna
Like the others there is nothing really to it! I do t think Dr S does any tests before hand! But the first bottle is down extremely slowly and they monitor for any reactions! After that it goes faster!

Like the intralipids they stick you in one of the clinical rooms with no tv and extremely bright lights! Lol!

It is very boring so yes make sure you have lots to watch! Food wise I just sent DH out for stuff! I didn't get any headaches on the day but was floored the next with a migraine! (Not sure if that is related though)

I've not had a sore arm from the IVIG. I did from intralipids! I suppose it depends on how well the put the needle in! They change the line every two bottles (I started with six bottles but have moved on to three larger ones) . The medication is at room temperature so I didn't feel cold!

Hope that helps! I know peoples experiences are different but I can't imagine it being to dissimilar to mine as it's New Life!

Oh PS I was expecting red medication (as it's a blood product)! But looks nothing like it!

Xx
