Newcomers very much welcome!

Dildoos I've had prof quenby procedure twice as first time they were 54% then came off all
Med and was 3.29%!! She is lovely and I took ibruprofen beforehand. It hurt me for about 10 seconds as I have a bend apparently!! But was bearable! Good luck x

bakingtins · 25/01/2014 07:39

dildoos I found Prof Q's procedure ok, about as bad as a smear so not my choice of ways to spend an afternoon but by no means unbearable.

dildoos · 25/01/2014 07:59

I thought it sounded like a GA procedure Smile I am glad to hear not too bad, sorry for my lack of knowledge but 54% nk cells at the start then after treatment 3.59%? That's much better yes?
Did you go on to successful pregnancy that's why you went back again for a second?
She looks familiar was she on tv ever?
I don't suppose any of you suffer hideously heavy periods ? I thought maybe this was linked? I wish there were more professionals on this topic around , it makes so much sense to a lot of the issues I have suffered that I truly would be shocked if I didn't suffer it!
How did you all get to know about nk cells to research it?
I got to know from the Indian Canadian Chinese medicine gp I saw, he was a general practioner for years then decided to go to research cancer treatments abroad first then got into fertility but he said I had nk cells 100% and that he wouldn't take my money £150 for consultation as nothing he could do needed medication and would fall, he was do sure about it but could have fleeced me! He gave me medication for my periods ( which was disgusting) and said helps boast fertility and I did get pregnant straight away after but mc again! He did not charge me for my consultation just for the medicine £30 ,I think he must have been into the research myself or he could have made a small fortune out of me Smile.

Team- how is the bleeding today? I hope your taking things easy and laying down as much as possible!
I remember keep going to the toilet and praying for bleeding not to be there(some feelings you never forget.) she's just perfect though and I count my blessings daily, she gets fed up with how much mummy kisses and cuddles her Grin it took3 years to fall with her, I pray I haven't passed any of my fertility issues on to her !
Hope you all have a chilled Saturday x

bakingtins · 25/01/2014 08:05

I found out from Mumsnet ( praise the Lord for Mumsnet) otherwise I would have been none the wiser, although there have been a few things in the press about it since, an article by the lovely free from this thread, and Dr S has been on telly recently. Someone posted on my " 4th MC " thread to suggest I looked into it and now I mention it to everyone

dildoos · 25/01/2014 08:13

Baking- wow thank goodness for mumsnet.
Been on here 2 years , in and out but had not found you lovely ladies ( because I didn't realise what the medication was for or called ) so did not get the title until I went and looked around the miscarriage threads.
So pleased to have met you all Grin

freelancegirl · 25/01/2014 12:13

I'm sick in bed - not preg or Pred related! But just a quickie to say hello to Dildoos and say I too found out about the treatment here on mumsnet and went with Mr S. without him I don't think I'd be a mum now. There was a thread on the miscarriage boards called 'recurrent buns' and I found Mr S and St Mary's mentioned on there. For some reason I just knew natural killer cells were going to be my issue so asked for a referral ASAP. I didn't want to wait the three months or so it was going to take on nhs so in the end went to see mr s privately and I'm so glad I did! Trying again soon though so a bit nerve wracking.

dildoos · 25/01/2014 12:19

Sorry your poorly freelance, get well soon. Thanks
With mr a can I refer myself privately? I don't want to wait longer than I have too, if the tests need to be done 10dpo that brings me too 17/2/14 and I would love to get an appointment for then.
Will you be taking the medication to ttc#2?
It is worrying how many people could have this and never have a child as not enough publicity about it.
Get well soon x

Mel3062 · 25/01/2014 12:33

Aw freelance I'm in bed with terrible cold at mo!
Yes 54 was highest she'd ever seen as there supposed to be under 5!! That was sept and I actually had a chemical on between the tests and she said no way could anything survive at 54%! Yes just ring new life they'll get you in no prob if private. I'm under dr gorgy at mo and had to have 2 lit treatments so waiting to concieve again at mo x

freelancegirl · 25/01/2014 12:55

Sorry you're sick too Mel! Yes Dildoos, just ring The Miscarriage Clinic or New Life Centre and make an appointment. I asked them to let me know if there were any cancellations and I went from speculating whether I should do it to seeing Mr S two days later! It was such a relief. Mr S tests blood levels of nkc not uterine so you can have it done any time of cycle. Let us know how it goes.

Incidentally my levels of nkc were in the highest 5% he sees. I had one mc on the treatment - a blighted ovum so could have been chromosomal - and then my little boy. I got pregnant accidentally a few months ago when not on any treatment. We saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks but by 8 weeks it had gone. So yes, to try again I will definitely be on the treatment first.

Tumtimes1 · 27/01/2014 12:40

Hiya free you're trying again soon! That's brilliant news and I know a big decision for you guys. I hope you get up duffed ASAP!

Hey team how are you doing? I hope still resting up.

I have a scan tomorrow and I am not feeling very hopeful but trying my best to keep positive. I had a migraine with aura on Friday and in previous pregnancies as soon as I start to have migraines an mc seems to follow so I have spent days now worrying. The difference between this migraine and previous, is that it was a lot lot more mild than usual. I am hoping this is because it's just a symptom of pregnancy and not that something has gone wrong. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow.
Does anyone else suffer from migraine with aura?

willitbe · 27/01/2014 13:16

Hi ladies, scan today was mixed. Good news - a wonderful little heartbeat.
Not so great news - measuring 6 days behind (this does not worry me as dd did too at this stage but caught up)
Other not do great news - small haematoma right by the sac. Doc declared "it can go either way" before looking at my notes and seeing the number of miscarriages, doc then could not get out of room quick enough as they clearly felt uncomfortable and not knowing what to say then!

Sonographer was lovely, found heartbeat straight away. She was very supportive, understanding and caring. A good experience, she gave me plenty of time to see the heartbeat several times during the scanning.

Next scan in 11 days.

dildoos · 27/01/2014 18:53

Will- try think positively lovely, loads of rest and relaxation required feet up for good blood glow to baby! Thinking of youxx

teamdozie · 28/01/2014 07:27

As for me u r had a very quiet weekend not doing very much at all and I have the week off work too! Bleeding has stopped although I'm not taking any chances and Ive stocked up on pads! I have a scan tomorrow with Dr S and then IVIG after that! I'm feeling relatively positive! "I'm pregnant today"

"Village" sorry I think you asked me why dr D prefers fresh to brown blood? He said old had been sitting around for a while but that's his personal opinion! I'd rather have none! Lol!!

willit great that you saw a HB. Sounds like you and team are in the same boat with the haematoma. I had one in this pregnancy at 8 weeks and it resorbed. Take it easy, really hope that's the case for you both.

tum good luck for scan today and team good luck for tomorrow.

willitbe · 28/01/2014 10:02

baking - thank you for the encouragement. I really hope team and I can reabsorb our haematomas too, and go on to where we want to be. It is great to have positive stories like yours.

tum - hope the scan is good today. I have visual migraines, the worse the visual part the less the headache, really weird for me.

luna - hope you are doing ok?

team - good to hear you are feeling positive, hope that your scan today brings good news too.

free and mel - hope you are both feeling better.

dildoos - hope you get an appointment soon.

Tumtimes1 · 28/01/2014 10:50

Hey all - i actually can't believe it but the scan went well! This is the furthest we have ever gotten, baby measured one day bigger than it is (10.6mm) and heart beat was normal. I actually feel like I'm in a dream right now. I asked about the slight dull ache/pain on my right ovary and she said it was all normal so I have no idea what that is. Has anyone else had this?

willitbe do you mainly have these in pregnancy or in every day life? Do you take anyone for them?

Hey baking how's your dad?

team glad to hear your weekend was uneventful, good luck with your scan tomorrow.

Tumtimes1 · 28/01/2014 10:51

Not anyone, anything I mean, medication wise.

freelancegirl · 28/01/2014 12:32

Wow Tum that's amazing!! So pleased for you. How many weeks are you? Good news for Will too hopefully.

Tumtimes1 · 28/01/2014 13:10

Hello free I'm 7 w today but baby measures 7w1d. This is the biggest it's ever gotten so we feel very pleased so far! X

bakingtins · 28/01/2014 16:42

tum that's brilliant!

My dad has had the all clear from his scan and colonoscopy, so all good. Massive relief.

dildoos · 28/01/2014 16:43

Yay tum that's fabulous news Grin

Glad to here the haematomas are behaving themselves! My dd was born with a huge one on arm I used to giggle and say our didn't disperse is attached itselfSmile

Heard from prof Quenby I need to call on day of ovulation £360 for visit so looking forward to that ???? Xx

bakingtins · 28/01/2014 16:48

That's all you'll pay though dildoos that covers her consultation, a scan, taking and processing the biopsy and then phoning you with results. I think it's pretty good value when just a consultation with a local gynae was £200.

dildoos · 28/01/2014 17:58

I agree baking, my not looking forward is for the scrap Wink however looking forward to moving in the right direction Smile
How long was your visit? X

VillageMum · 28/01/2014 22:07

willit, excellent news about the heartbeat! May the haematoma resolve itself quickly and painlessly.

tum, fantastic that your bean is such a good size!!

team, thinking of you for your scan tomorrow. My cyst will be drained on Friday.

Hello to everyone, sorry for brief post, crazy busy!

Tumtimes1 · 29/01/2014 12:34

Thanks guys! Great news too baking about your Pa.

I have a question about prednisolone and I am wondering if anyone can help me. I wanted to arrange a 10 week scan with Mr Shehata, as I have been getting weeklys so far on the NHS. I will have run out of pred at 10 weeks so thought that would be a good time to see him. I have been getting my blood pressure checked fortnightly with my doc. When I spoke to Mr S's secretary, he can't see me in that 10th week for a scan and I asked if I could just get the prednisolone until the following week and she said no. Do you think I should just try to get this through NHS instead or should I stick with Mr S?
