Hi all - I am brand new here (this is my very first post) and have just decided to start TTC this month.
I am 29, my husband is 31... I was wondering how long it took all of you to get pregnant (if you have managed)?

About a week. Each time.

Was definitely not prepared for that! And I do appreciate how incredibly lucky we were.

whereisshe · 18/12/2013 21:37

One cycle. Which was an enormous surprise since I'm 35... As Curioushorse said, I know how lucky we were.

nannynome · 18/12/2013 21:40

Same for me, was on the pill 15 years and believed people when they said it would take time for my system to sort itself out. Conceived within the first cycle off the pill! Again incredibly lucky too that it was easy as I am 34.

Mrswellyboot · 18/12/2013 21:41

Over a year, closer to 18 months. I am 34

somedizzywhore1804 · 18/12/2013 21:44

7 months at 27.

DramaAlpaca · 18/12/2013 21:46

I was the same age as you when first TTC. It took almost a year to conceive DC1, but I conceived both DC2 & DC3 as soon as we started trying. In fact, I'm certain that DC2 was conceived within a few minutes of deciding to try for a second baby Blush. We know we were lucky & are very thankful.

BonaDea · 18/12/2013 21:48

3 days at 32.

First time (age 33), a total shock, wasn't trying! Second time (age 37), first cycle.

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 21:53

I am a bit nervous as it took my mother 9 years !! She has some damage after an IUD (it was the 70s)... but I don't know whether I could handle the monthly anxiety for that long!!!

6 months. We 'gave up' after 5 months and fell pregnant straight away. I'm convinced calming down, relaxing and taking the pressure off myself helped.

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 21:54

I am quite highly stressed and worry that it could cause fertility issues...

Taffeta · 18/12/2013 21:58

Pg 1 3 weeks miscarriage (35)
Pg 2 3 months DS (36)
Pg 3 6 months miscarriage (38)
Pg 4 13 months DD (39)

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 22:00

p.s. how do you all cope with the damned two week wait?!

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 22:01

Taffeta - sorry to hear about your miscarriages, but congrats on your two kids!

Taffeta · 18/12/2013 22:02

That's OK, was ages ago. DS is 10 now!

Froblawd · 18/12/2013 22:02

I get easily stressed and beat myself up. Giving up and 'seeing what happens' helped. Going out with friends and drinking a lot of wine (after not touching a drop for 5 months) did the trick for us. DS has just celebrated his 2nd birthday.

OwlinaTree · 18/12/2013 22:13

19 months first time was 34 when gave birth. 9 months second time will be 36 when give birth.

Feelingfatty · 18/12/2013 22:19

22- 2 months - dd
25 - 13 months - bfp last week!!!

Good luck xxx

lanbro · 18/12/2013 22:22

Both times first cycle at 31 & 33.

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 22:24

To Feelingfatty - congrats on your bfp!!!!
I am due (AF) on Christmas Day and the wait is doing my head in. I am analysing every tiny 'symptom'. Am getting lots of twinges in ovary/hip area...and today I've been getting them in lower central pelvis...and am getting OBSESSED! Although am totally aware it could be IBS type thing, or stress...or so many things. gah...

SO this hasnt upset me at all. 6 months ttc and nothing as yet :/

Minithemoocher · 18/12/2013 22:28

It took us 2 months and I'm 28, but we dtd too late on the first cycle as we decided mid-cycle and thought we'd just give it a go! So one month really I guess. I got my bfp this week!

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 22:34
