Hi all - I am brand new here (this is my very first post) and have just decided to start TTC this month.
I am 29, my husband is 31... I was wondering how long it took all of you to get pregnant (if you have managed)?

Do any of you have any tips on coping with the two week wait?

Thanks cb! Ah I had/have ibs type symptoms with dd and this bfp!! So sounds positive! I don't have ibs tho so wouldn't normally get it! Grin

Feelingfatty · 18/12/2013 22:36

Confuzzed don't be disheartened it took me a long time to get this bfp it will happen some people are just lucky! I was first time but not second! Will happen when it's supposed to...that's what I tried to tell myself while pulling my hair out!!

Feelingfatty · 18/12/2013 22:37

Congrats mini!

Feelingfatty · 18/12/2013 22:39

Cb my only advice is try not to symptom spot I leant this the hard way as was convinced one month I was pg even had spotting which I never have unless pg!! But alas no bfp! Taught me an important lesson and honestly didn't symptom spot after that!!

Alanna1 · 18/12/2013 22:39

First time round, first time we decided to stop using contraception. Second child, second cycle.

baggyb · 18/12/2013 22:39

Age 29, 15 months and still trying! Good luck!

Iwillorderthefood · 18/12/2013 22:42

Pg1 two months
Pg 2 one year
Pg 3 was not trying.

cbmb12 · 18/12/2013 22:44

Symptom spotting definitely a mistake as I am prone to getting random pains/aches/fatigue/nausea etc! But I am finding it impossible not to do.... Must be more disciplined!

DC1 - 16 months
DC2 - 6 months or first month after stopping breastfeeding, depending on how you look at it!
Hope it happens for you soon.

minipie · 18/12/2013 22:50

11 months, dc1, age 30 (when I started trying). turned out I had underactive thyroid - once that was medicated I got pg within a month of meds taking effect.

ZombieSquirrel · 18/12/2013 22:58

DC1- accident, once
DC2- (this time on purpose), once
DC3- 3yrs
DC4- a week
DC5- 2yrs
Sometimes I conceive very quickly, other times it takes years Confused

First pregnancy - 1.5 years of near constant shagging resulting in early mc.

Second pregnancy - couple of weeks of not really trying. Neither of us can even remember having sex around the time ds must have been conceived Confused .

What I have learnt from all this is that TTC is a pita and not an experience I would ever like to repeat.

duchesse · 20/12/2013 16:03

Anything from accident (ie before trying) to 6 years. I have 4 DC.

Sparrowlegs248 · 20/12/2013 18:44

Not yet. I'm 36 and on C7 or 8. To be fair some months we haven't 'tried' all that often.

Re 2ww. I made a rule after c3 to not test until late. Rules out a lot of disappointment. Somehow getting a bfn feels worse than af arriving.

prettypleasewithsugarontop · 20/12/2013 18:44

18 about 4mths (unplanned but on no contraception)
22 about 15mths (planned, had been on depo)
Currently ttc #3 but only just come off pill 11d ago Smile

Good luck x

givemeaclue · 20/12/2013 18:49

Op are you having fertility treatment?

wonderstuff · 20/12/2013 18:54

Pg 1 - a month, mc (I was 25)
Pg 2 - 3 years, dd is now 6 (I was 28)
Pg 3 - unplanned, ds is now 3 (i was 31)

I really recommend 'taking charge of your fertility' www.amazon.co.uk/Taking-Charge-Your-Fertility-Reproductive/dp/0091887585

Incapinka · 20/12/2013 18:55

6 months each time
