New thread. Welcome back to all the regulars. Welcome to all the newbies - please come and join us if you are IVFing or thinking about. The regulars are a mine of information at this point!

Do you realise that this will take us through a year of egg buddy threads? I believe Karbea started the last one around Xmas time last year for those cycling in 2013 and I immediately jumped on it as I was about to start my first cycle in January. Blimey.

My last jabs were bad too. You're almost there now though!

Thoughtful I am so sorry. I really hope it's not ectopic. Is the plan to keep having beta tests? Thinking of you xx

Euro I'm so pleased you went to the EPU and all is ok. Have you still got your scan on tues?

Clowns ShockShockShock as if!! I bloody hate clowns but if it will work I'm on board Grin

Bunny fab news on your 4 embies! Come on Bunny 4 we are all rooting for you x

Stars great news about EC, not long now.

Bugs I put on about half a stone as well and unfortunately I haven't lost it yet. I'm really worried about putting on more in this next round.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 11/01/2014 14:15

Res I live in whitefield. I'm at St Marys for this next round. I've managed to get my pct to transfer my third round to care if this one doesn't work. Are you at care then?

Bunnygirlie · 11/01/2014 14:28

Bleeding etc stopped today, still have a strange stitch like feeling on one side where I guess they nabbed all the eggs from.

stars trying to send positive growing thoughts to my embies lol.
Keeping things crossed for your trigger shot, I found that the least painful of all.

twink that is a spooky coincidence, obviously meant to be x

Thank you all for you good wishes for my embryos Smile Any advice for ET?

eurochick · 11/01/2014 14:36

cups I cancelled the scan on Tuesday - 3 in 10 days seemed ridiculous! I'm seeing the GP on Wednesday as the first step to book in (I can't self-refer to the midwife, apparently). I am looking at the Harmony test - if we go for that next scan would be at 9-10 weeks I think. It seems odd to be thinking like that. I still can't believe this will work out.

bunny I think it's usual for the empty follies to fill with fluid so pain where the ovaries are is normal. I found ET fine - just like a smear with extra spectators (and mr euro at the head end!).

Good luck with the trigger stars!

Scan today. Lining 5.3mm with several follicles...not my usual sonographer so no idea what that meant. She wasn't very forthcoming when I asked questions Hmm The nurse wasn't great either. I reminded her to check with the consultant as to whether I should start patching but when she called me with tonight's doses she said he hadn't mentioned anything either way so I have sent he back to clarify. Be glad to be back on Monday with the usual staff. Also a bit concerned as they have upped my dose to 450iu (from 300iu). I have severe PCOS and literally went up in 50iu increase last time, sometimes 25iu...

Out of interest what doses of Gonal F have you all been on past and present?

starsandmoonandback · 11/01/2014 15:15

Thanks for all your good wishes for EC girls Smile

Val, are you doing long protocol? I'm not entirely sure about lining thickness, but I think it needs to be thicker than that for transfer. Are they upping your gonal F to produce more follies or help them grow bigger? Sorry, I'm not being much help! I'm on 300 gonal F. What day of Stimms are you on?

Bunnie, ET is generally pretty straight forward. You just have to drink lots of water to fill your bladder in the hour or two beforehand so they've got a good view and access to your uterus. You'll be PUPO tomorrow or Tuesday! Exciting. Smile

Cups hiiii!

Just popping in to say thanks for the thoughts. I have to keep having hcg monitored to decide whether it might be ectopic as PUL you can't rule it out until hcg levels fall significantly.

I'm so exhausted I can't even grieve for this one. It just seems like a cruel joke.

I was on pergoveris not gonal f for my cycle. 225 initially then 300.

resipsa · 11/01/2014 15:27

Cups - the home of Slatterys! Just paid them a small fortune for a birthday cake (worth it though).

Yes, I'm at Care. Have nothing against which to compare it as been nowhere else but am happy (save for the fees!). They managed to get me pregnant even if it didn't last.

vallinnapod · 11/01/2014 15:30

Thoughtful my thoughts are with you xxx

Stars I am on short protocol which is why I am worried about such a big jump in dose. I know my lining needs to be thicker - I have notoriously thin lining (hence being on progynova and potentially patches too). It was only 7.3mm on my successful cycle with DS.

resipsa · 11/01/2014 15:31

Thoughtful Thanks.

I am surprised by how slowly the hCG leaves. I'm still at 10 more than 3 weeks after starting to bleed at less than 6 weeks. I think less than 5 is 'normal' and I would have expected to be there by now.

Llw2 · 11/01/2014 17:23

Thinking of you thoughtful, make sure someone is there with you to look after you xxxx

eurochick · 11/01/2014 17:54

I've been on Gonal F 150 for my mild protocols.

bugs that's about right. I start drinking a small bottle of mineral water about 45 mins before my appointment. A couple of times I have had more than that and I have been uncomfortable and had to have a half wee (tricky!) before the procedure.

Thoughtful I'm thinking of you.

My ovaries we christened slowvaries last cycle! Never had any response to clomid or letrozole!

HCG levels are a bitch I was still getting +vv PG tests a couple of weeks after my ERPC.

resipsa · 11/01/2014 19:42

Val - me too - had op in 2012 on the day after Mother's Day (!) which was 19 March and it took until mid-April to get a -ve.

time2deal · 11/01/2014 19:53

Hi ladies,
I've posted in another thread, but hopefully you ladies will accept me too! I've been TTC for too many years to count, and now in the middle of an IVF cycle. Third cycle, but the last two were only to create embryos, this time we may (hopefully) get to put one back.
I'm on short protocol, stimming for 8 days now. Heading for EC next week I guess, and a bit nervous about it. The last two were GA, but this one will be sedation as it's a different clinic.
So, just saying hi, and hopefully get to know more of you as we go through this process! From friends I know the next stage of embryo growth and then the dreaded 2WW are the hardest parts.

Bunnygirlie · 11/01/2014 19:54

euro still keeping everything crossed for you!

val I was only on 112.5 gonal f

Thanks for water advice stars and bugs, FC is 80 mins away so don't wanna wet myself in the car! Lol

vallinnapod · 11/01/2014 20:06

Hi Time come and settle in! You are slightly ahead of me, I am on Day 6 of stimms (but spend a long time on them!) I have had two ECs both under sedation and you don't feel/or are conscious really for any of it!

Bunny - tip for ET is not to wear perfume and ask oh not to wear aftershave. Or was that for EC? Oops, can someone confirm?

First ET I had I had a panic attack :( I was SO uncomfortable from drinking too much and it was in July so it was so hot and I just couldn't cope. I didn't enjoy the transfer at all.

For the frozen cycle I drank water much slower, lay down on bed and got told to go away and drink more, 20 mins later they did the transfer. Found it much better than overfilling my bladder the first time round and it was much calmer.

Good luck!

time2deal · 11/01/2014 20:41

Thanks for the welcome! The first cycle was only for embryo creation, as I was started cancer treatment (cervical). Since then I tried once more, but at EC they realised they wouldn't be able to do the ET (finding the canal to the uterus is hard when the cervix is gone!). I've had a few operations since and that should be sorted this time. I've had a dummy ET, and although it took almost 2 hours it was successful, so hopefully will work this time.
But, if they could just get the embryos in, I think I have a good chance. Good lining, regular cycles, but hubbies SA leaves a little to be desired... We are doing ICSI.
I do have 12 embryos (just 1 day) in the freezer, but NHS is picking up the tab this time, so I'm doing one more fresh cycle.

vallinnapod · 11/01/2014 20:45

Twink - the perfume thingy IS for ET.

Time - you've been through it. I am wincing a bit at a 2hr ET. I hate the clamping and pulling at my cervix for the ET. Tell me to bugger off but I am very intrigued about no cervix. How do they ensure your uterus maintains a pregnancy? Do you need stitches? As I say, being very nosey so don't feel compelled to answer.
