Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

sorry ertd got you lil. and every one else who she's visiting.

DP just text from work to say he thinks he's getting the d&v bug I had last weekend. I am about to ovulate sometime in the next three days, noooooo what poor timing!!!

Lynsey14 · 17/12/2013 20:53

Whattup viroids! Feeling pretty cracking after a wee DTD session with DH. He decided to combat his early on performance issues by, Erm, 'stockpiling' and not having any solo practice sessions iiiiif you know what I mean. Well he was definitely not having any issues tonight, hooray!

I have about 5 close friends/family currently upduffed in RL and my theory is it's harder because whilst we all respect each other's efforts people in RL tend to say tactless things like "WELL WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE ONE?" It got to a point I actually snapped at one of my DHs slightly more annoying friends that 'unless you know someone's medical history and desires to start a family it's really none of your bl00dy business now is it?!'

I was hormonal....

Anyway...

I have a very newbie-ish question to ask, please feel free to shake your head and laugh... However I've been on the pill my entire adult life so am not sure if this is business as usual or the pill still having a hold over me chemically....

After DTD... Everything just comes tumbling right out again. Bed sheets require changing, but obviously that's not my main concern! Is it like the launchers coming off a rocket after it takes off or are my efforts going to waste and slowly ruining our sheets?!?!?!

cookielove · 17/12/2013 21:41

What is coming out is the fluid and some sperm but most of it will be in you. I tended to lay down for a while after dtd however people do say it's not necessary. Can't hurt though.

Ok I need a hooya, we dtd last week and this week, I am crazy symptom spotting, funny taste in my mouth, really tired, a bit emotional. I am crazy!

Lynsey14 · 17/12/2013 21:58

Thanks cookielove I actually wouldn't let him move for a few mins at first! I was like 'let's just hug a while!' ... Unfortunately I had had a bag of onion crisps shortly before we DTD sooooo he wasn't overly excited about hanging around my face much longer. Such romance!!!

I say revel in your craziness, sorry I'm not a good hooya-provider!!!!

Waggamamma · 17/12/2013 22:05

lynsey I have the same issue with leakage/puddles on the bed, I don't know where he stores it all!! I have to clean up pretty sharpish afterwards so I worry I'm not giving the swimmers a chance but I read somewhere that they should be up there already doing their job and it's just fluid that escapes Hmm I'm not sure if I believe that, I'd like to sit with my legs in the air after dtd but dp won't have it.

lil1ady · 17/12/2013 22:18

The theory is the EWCM gets them to where it needs to go! It's the semen not the sperm that leaks out. I just bought "The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant" and there was something in there about a medical study where they saw the sperm reach the fallopian tubes within a minute!

Book is excellent btw, I'd recommend it. Well written and very funny. It's written by a researcher who looked at all of the real medical studies supporting the facts and figures you find branded around on the internet and dispels a few myths. It is quite focussed on ovulation prediction so totally innapropriate for JSers really

FlipFlippingFlippers · 18/12/2013 08:31

Just got a bfn. Tested a bit early but meh. Still fucked off. Oh well.

lil1ady · 18/12/2013 08:42

hang in there flip

I hope Santa hasn't forgotten us all...one of us has to get an Xmas bfp!

cookielove · 18/12/2013 08:54

Flip when are you due?

I'm due on Friday

FlipFlippingFlippers · 18/12/2013 09:23

I'm not due til Christmas day happy periodmas Xmas Hmm but I woke up with a sudden urge to test. Really silly of me tbh. I think if I'd let myself wake up a little I wouldn't have done it.

CosyTeaBags · 18/12/2013 09:50

Hooyas all round!

Flip don't feel bad about testing early, sometimes the urge to POAS overtakes you even though you know it couldn't possibly show anything but just might if you're really lucky. We've all been there.

Cookielove a gentle Hooya for you - just to prevent you driving yourself totally insane with symptom spotting.

Lynsey - Yeah, I'm with you there on wondering about the 'leakage'. The theory is that the good swimmers get to where they need to be straight away, and any that leak out are no use anyway. But I'm not convinced either, particularly as DP may not have the best swimmers...

As for me - ERTD seems to have left the building today, so it's time to get it on. I've decided to try for EOD for the next couple of weeks, but I'll be away Friday (CD7) hope that doesn't put a spanner in the works...

CosyTeaBags · 18/12/2013 09:56

Oh and I have a confession to make.... In my Christmas present ordering frenzy, I ordered myself a... BBT Thermometer.

Don't kick me off the thread!

I figured its just pissing me off that my Day 21 tests have been on the wrong day twice, so I really need to know when the right day is. Not sure how DP will take to me beeping every morning, but there you go.

QuarksInAPearTickle · 18/12/2013 13:44

Hello Viroids! Xmas Grin

My sincere apologies for not keeping my attendance on this thread up. Please be assured that I have been reading!
Sorry to hear that a lot of you have the bad old ERTD at the mo Xmas Sad

There was a conversation up thread about getting upset about friends in rl who announce they are pregnant. I have been really down over the last few months because on of my friends announced she was pg. They have been trying longer than us so I am really really happy for them but she was the only firend that knew we were ttc and we used to chat about it/offload onto each other and now I have lost that. Thank god for you lovely lot!

So in Quark land we are CD31, ERTD could should anytime from tomorrow to Sunday. No real feelings either way but today I have a hacking cough and have been gagging a lot so feel v. nauseous to the point I am keeping my bin near me for emergencies!

How are we hall doing? Christmas all sorted?

Cosy small hooya to you for buying a BBT but of course we are not going to kick you off!

Red fingers crossed for those frembryos!

juniper81 · 18/12/2013 13:44

I won't kick you off, cosy, I do ultimate contraband sometimes!

lillady does that book have anything abt diet? Need to start the Zita West I've bought.

lil1ady · 18/12/2013 16:25

hi quark wb! fx the nausea is a sign of a crimbo bfp!

juniper it talks about things you should and shouldn't eat, possible supplements to try and what could potentially help with choosing gender! nothing diet specific so far above that. the usual stuff about some fish are bad, an interesting fact about carbonated drinks. the one thing that surprised me was caffeine for dh. I'd read online it didn't matter how much he drank but according to this books over 2 cups of coffee a day can reduce his fertility. my dh drinks a lot of caffeine! what I like about this book is it refers to the actual medical studies so you can go and look them up if you want. it has a chapter about how the statistics about 35+ being totally wrong. apparently there are places that quote infertility rates based on a sample from 18th century France!

cosy you can be forgiven for the bbt. my dh wants me to get mine back out this month and wants us to get the cb digi fertility monitor!

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 18/12/2013 18:51

quark

I'm keeping my fingers crossed - sorry you are feeling rough, but it could well be a bfp.

have you got a blocked nose too?

1974rach · 18/12/2013 19:56

Evenin' viroids.

It is el freezio here. Got the heating turned up to weld, but it is blowing a hoolie outside and I am so cold. I think I will have to have a horlicks to warm up.

AF is packing her bags and I am really really hoping I won't see her until 2015

Santa I have been a very very good girl this year and all I really want for Christmas is a bfpGrin

How's everyone today?

x

thelentil · 18/12/2013 21:03

I've been eating lots of kale, spinach, green veg in general, heard that's meant to help, I read somewhere that as little as 50mg of caffeine can affect fertility too, not just the recommended limit of 200mg in case of MC, I've even binned the antibacterial soap and the toothpaste with triclosan. Haven't quite made the leap to being teetotal though, it's a step too far for me!

DP's kids are visiting for Christmas, during magic fertile time. Don't know about you guys but I find that having little kids around is a great contraceptive. Also, being "other people's kids" and as annoying as little kids are, they help dampen broody feelings a bit!

lil1ady · 18/12/2013 22:19

So I have an update on the leakage discussion...I've been reading up about pre-seed and seen a few comments from people that it helps prevent leakage/keep the swimmers up there Confused

Has anyone on here used it?

cookielove · 18/12/2013 22:37

lil- I've heard it mentioned on here not sure if they are here still or graduates though!

lil1ady · 18/12/2013 23:42

I'm kinda hoping they're grads cookie Cos then it will be money well spent Grin

FurryScoob · 19/12/2013 08:43

I've been using preseed this cycle, I still get leakage but its thicker & I suppose it is less than normal. Hopefully the little swimmers are already on the way to the right place by the time anythings falling out.

Wine to everyone suffering ERTD but at least it should be out the way for some christmas shagage

lil1ady · 19/12/2013 16:48

Is this your first cycle using it furry? how much does it say you should use? I've read what it suggests is too much?

FurryScoob · 19/12/2013 18:05

First proper cycle using it at ov time, you get applicators with it that go from 1-4 grams. I've only used 1 gram so far I've got no idea how anyone could fit 4 up there!
It's thicker than normal lube so I suppose it holds the sperm nearer the cervix for longer.

Bearfacedchic · 19/12/2013 18:34

Hello Christmas Shagglers! Sorry I've been absent for a while again but work has been all-encompassing. I've just finished now though so this is one happy Bear!

Just icing here so getting the shagging on. Date night with Mr Bear tonight so hoping for some fun after. . .

Sorry to hear of all the Ertds happening. This might not help much but at least it will mean you can start the new year with shaggedies. I will be starting new year with Ertd. Ouchy! Unless of course some miracle happens and I get a BFP. I'd like to believe in miracles so hoping that each and every one of us gets our BFP for Christmas.

Geez I know that feeling of extreme awkwardness/terror when someone starts talking babies or Ttc or yet another BFP magically appears for someone who's been trying for what feels like 5 minutes. I feel bad just reading your stories. People just speak with such assumption and seem to think it's only the odd couple who struggle to conceive. Actually it's 1in 7 couples which is more than I ever thought.

I had a moment of near breakdown over the same thing yesterday. At work everyone started talking about babies and someone mentioned something a bit gross and I said ewww, how grim, then another older woman turned tojbxcyp me and said 'you'll have to get used to it because one day soon it'll be you'. I really felt like saying 'wtf do you know? Actually we may never have a child of our own. You should think before you speak.' But of course I didn't and scurried away to breathe deeply in the toilets and cry through my nose rather than my eyes. (Does that happen to anyone else?!) Hey ho. You'd think I'd be better at dealing with it by now, but alas no. I've got a christening at the weekend too with all my school friends with kids. Deep breaths. . .

Red- sorry to hear about your choir. It must be hard for you.

I know it's hard gals, especially at this time of year when so much stuff is family and child orientated, but don't lose hope. If all else fails, I've found that doing something I wouldn't be able to do if I had a baby really helps like going out for a date night or booking a holiday or short break or something like that.

Take care all and sending you Christmas joy xxx
