Hi All,

Anyone else around for the Dec bus yet? I think AF has managed to kick me off Nov already as she has arrived a few days early, and my cycle will probably mean she is next due at the beginning of Dec rather than Nov.

So does anyone else want to climb on board and help me hang tinsel and drink mulled wine to while away the time until that bfp in Dec?

greentealeaf · 26/11/2013 22:55

I'll be taking a HPT on Friday/Saturday Bexboo :) If it's a bfn we can be gutted together but then continue to hope for a later bfp in a couple of extra days. I've felt light headed for a few days too and am currently at approx. 12dpo. Like you, I also don't know if it's just the removal of our contraception. I know some people are very lucky after having implants removed/coming off the pill and get a bfp in the first cycle. I'm hoping we r a couple of those lucky folk ;)
My way of resisting temptation to test has now become waiting until I'm desperate to go to the loo and then it's too late to sort out a test cos the urine's gone and then I think, well it's pointless testing in any subsequent urine so have to wait it out. How silly, but it works for me, haha!
Everything is a symptom in my world recently Woodwaj. I tend to think I'm going a little bonkers every now and again...which may well be the case!
Oh and I think it's quite reasonable to test eod Bexboo.
Although I think all of this is very stressful, it's also quite exciting. Imagine that some of us will be mothers this time next year!! :D

mssleepyhead · 26/11/2013 23:21

Hello December bus,
I've been trying
so hard to be good and not obsess, but today is day 3 if flashing smiley on the cbdo test thingy and, yeah, it's all I can think about again : ) really must control my brain this month! Really! But will fail to, I know ; ) fingers crossed for ovulation soon and then I can head into the mania of the 2WW! Anyone else joining me for some if that next week?!

Witch25 · 26/11/2013 23:58

Hello December bus,
Can I please hop on? TTC #1 Cycle 4 Bfp 13th December, fingers crossed.
Thank you. Here's hoping for a brilliant Christmas present! Smile

Moffit · 27/11/2013 00:43

Hi Ladies, Can I join you on the December bus please;
Moffit TTC#2 Cycle 2 BFP 21st December. Another one hoping for an early Christmas Present!!

sazzlehopes · 27/11/2013 07:11

Hi ladies I'm just checking in and trying to catch up on news. So nice to see some bfp's already rolling in. I'm still officially on the nov bus but there are so many of you on here and I'm loving the festive cheer and the potential of a flurry of Xmas present bfp's!!
Anyway I'm now 14dpo and will be due AF today. I've resisted poas since my bfn Friday/9dpo. I've just done the classic 'wasting fmu' so I couldn't test and if no AF today will test tomorrow as I have a big night out Friday. I have no symptoms and feel strangely calm so hoping whatever the outcome I've at last found a way to calm down during the 2ww. It's odd as I have a tonne of ics on the house as well as a Frer and a cb diggie but I have no urge to use any of them! It's only taken 12 months but at last I've found some restraint!!!

sazzlehopes · 27/11/2013 07:13

Oh and mama thanks for allowing us to still host friday poas parties at yours. Hope you are ok and a more relaxed month away from here a bit and your non plan plan works. Good luck x

BexBoo12 · 27/11/2013 07:16

Oh greentealeaf, the thought of some of us being mothers this time next year is just a lovely thought!! Thank you for that Grin ok, so we can be poas buddies on Friday, then I won't have to go it alone. Just like you I'm hoping we will be the lucky first timers!! It's just a waiting game now. I also pee away my FMU before I even have chance to grab a pot and a stick!! Then like you say, no other pee will do so that's it for that day. Works for me too. Here's hoping for a lovely weekend for us both!! (Hands greentealeaf a hot chocolate whilst patiently waiting for Friday to arrive!)

BexBoo12 · 27/11/2013 07:19

Oh sazzle well done for holdunf off this long to test, and well done for finding that calmness, you couldn't send some over my way could you?! Wink
Good luck in the morning, fx that you'll get your bfp xxx

lucyfluff · 27/11/2013 07:40

Bexboo and greentea I concieved all three of my DS's first month off BC...no AF in between so it can be done...good luck girls!!!!

Sazzle you have incredible will power!!! I hope its a bfp for you friday Grin

sazzlehopes · 27/11/2013 08:05

Thanks Lucy! The nearer it gets to AF being late the more nerve racking it becomes. I'm going to be on knicker watch all day long today! Oh god.....

spinningirl10 · 27/11/2013 08:19

MorningGrin

Imaginary, thanks....good luck to you to! This bus is so busy it's hard to keep up!!

Sazzle....good luckGrin

DearDinah · 27/11/2013 08:34

Could I ask any ladies who were on BC for a long time, how long it took for your periods to level out? I'm on month 6/7 cycle 5, the nurse told me to wait 12 months but I thought it was 12 months waiting TTC not just for regular periods, come June I could be up for another 12month wait for a BFP, I don't think I'm ovulating but don't wanna be laughed out of doctors surgery again :(

MundayCakes85 · 27/11/2013 08:56

Hi Dinah I'm on cycle 5 post pill and the doctor wasn't bothered at all about my crazy cycles. Was on Trinovum for 10 years- quite high oestrogen doses so not sure if that's what's causing the hold up. Dr also said they wouldn't start investigating until 18 months ttc!! FX you get your BFP within the year (as in before NYE!) Smile

MundayCakes85 · 27/11/2013 08:57

Also welcome aboard all the newbies and well done Sazzle holding out is impressive. Keep us posted on knicker watch ;-)

BexBoo12 · 27/11/2013 10:01

Ooh thanks Lucy, that's given me a little boost.

Ok ladies, I have an AF question, I'm sorry for the stupidity but being on the pill so long means I'm well out of the swing of all this AF business. I've made a mistake with my days and I'm actually 11dpo now which is further than I thought, so will be 13dpo on Friday when I test. When would AF be due for me? I have no idea what my cycles are like with just coming off the pill so I totally get that I have no possible accurate way of knowing when it's due, but with a big standard text book cycle, how many days dpo is AF due? I guess what I'm trying to figure out is which day I would technically be late? Anyone know? Thank you in advance Grin hands out marshmallows to the lovely ladies that don't laugh he he xx

KitKat1985 · 27/11/2013 10:25

BexBoo - A 'textbook' cycle is usually 28 days, and you ovulate at the mid-point (i.e, 14 days). So in theory your AF would be due Saturday. However the 'textbook' cycle is only an average, and most people's cycles are around 25-32ish days, and don't necessarily ovulate at the exact midpoint, (but usually somewhere between days 10-20). In addition I've heard a lot of stories of people coming off the pill and their cycle is all over the place for a while, so it'll probably take a while to settle down into a proper cycle again (if you don't get pregnant before that). However certainly on Friday you should be able to do a early-response test and get a reasonably accurate result, although if you get a BFN I would take another test in a few days if AF doesn't show her head. [Takes a marshmallow].

Oh, and good luck Sazzle. Hope AF doesn't read her ugly head and you get a BFP soon!

As for me, well it's been a week now since I spotted and led to the whole 'is it an implantation bleed / is it breakthrough bleeding from coming off the pill' headspin, leading to me taking a test 2 days after and getting BFN. Now I have wondered since if I just tested too early, (the wondering never stops does it?!?), and woke up this morning and decided that if it was an implantation bleed, it should show up now on a test a week later, so I took a FRER this morning another very clear BFN. I know I'm not completely this month yet (am only at CD21) but I think all my 'symptoms' this past month (the spotting, the bloating, feeling tired) are just because my body had gone completely out of whack from stopping the pill after being on it for years, so I think the chances of a BFP this month are very slim. I always knew getting pregnant the first month off the pill was a long shot, but I still feel a bit disappointed. In a way I wish AF would just turn up now so I can start a new cycle. Still, am focusing on the fact that by not being pregnant I can celebrate Christmas without having to refrain from alcohol! Wine

PunkyPod · 27/11/2013 10:25

Bex, in a standard 28 day cycle you'd expect your luteal phase (ie days post ovulation) to last 14 days. So it looks like AF would be due on Saturday and late on Sunday. But these things can vary from woman to woman. Use that as a rule of thumb til you know your cycles better (hopefully you wont have to know your cycles better!!).

Symptom watch - this morning i had a very light headed moment.

Hope Knicker Watch is going well Sazzle, this time next week i'll be doing the same!

Karmalaa · 27/11/2013 10:36

morning ladies, trying to catch up on all the news but this thread moves so quickly!!! Think I am just in my 2WW, today is CD17, I was having all my usual ov sypmtoms yesterday and my temp is up this morning which is right on track. dtd until I was sick of it these last few days so hopefully one of those little swimmers made it!
Aiming for distraction through the 2WW or else I'll drive myself crazy.

BexBoo12 · 27/11/2013 11:03

Thank you ladies, I love how friendly this bus is!! I actually feel like I can ask anything and wouldn't be laughed away Grin

I'm not holding out for a bfp or AF this weekend if I'm honest, as like others have said my cycle will more than likely be all over the place after coming off the pill - but Lucy's story gives me hope!Wink I'm hoping that I get one or the other soon though as I have definitely ovulated according to my opks - so here goes another question, because I have ovulated, will I definitely have AF or bfp pretty soon? I'm just thinking I know AF can take a while to come back if you're not ovulating, but can it take a whole if I am ovulating? I'm so sorry for 100 questions!! (Hands out a mince pie AND a cinnamon hot chocolate as bribery to be nice about my silly silly questionsWink) x

allchatnicknamesgone · 27/11/2013 11:13

bexboo some ladies can get a LP of 16 days, so it's likely you may not get either AF or BFP for little bit longer. Who knows, but until you have a few cycles you can track, I'd just try and go with the flow if I were you and not get too consumed by days if you know what I mean.
Also, (and I'm not saying this to alarm you, but just so you know), just because you got positive opk's it doesn't mean you 100% ovulated and released the egg. The only sure way of knowing that is to track your temperature as well. It's quite a bore and considering you are only early doors, I wouldn't worry about the technical stuff yet at all.
I completely relied on opk's then discovered the temp thing, so I did it one cycle to be sure (I think it was cycle ). I had the spike and everything, so I haven't done it since because I hated taking my temp in the morning!! Every one is different though and some ladies rely heavily on temping because of the reassurance it gives them.
Hope you ok giving you this info. Sometimes, knowing too much too soon is not the best way to TTC. If I were you I'd maybe just track and take note and not get too consumed by the science too early on (not that you are)!
Having said all this everyone has a good a chance as everyone to concieve on every cycle, so this may be your month!!!
Good luck. X

lucyfluff · 27/11/2013 11:25

I agree with allchat Bex, just try and forget about it for this cycle (I know thats easier said than done) but it could be a little off the 'normal textbook' cycle because your hormones are settling down etc.

I have never had the need to opk or temp and very luckily concieved quickly (although two were ten + years ago lol!!!!!).

Hopefully you will settle down quickly and get that bfp Grin

Bexboo like Allchat and Lucyfluff said, your LP can be as short as 7 or much longer, I think a 'normal' range is considered anything between 10-16 days. I have been quite lucky and my LP has been settled at 13 days since I started temping (back in feb, but didn't start ttc until last month). Yes, I got a bfn at 12dpo and my first bfp at 14dpo, the day I was officially late.

To any ladies who are feeling a bit confused, I would wholly recommend buying a copy of 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' by Toni Weschler. I found it so interesting, it does talk a lot about charting but if you're just starting out on your ttc journey I would recommend giving it a go; it has taught me so much!

spinningirl10 · 27/11/2013 12:36

Thanks for updating the list poco, there are loads of us.....not long till we can get those Dec bfp's rolling inGrin

Missvaughan85 · 27/11/2013 12:52

Hey ladies, well in the 2ww now officially, possibly about 3/4dpo. Had a bout of throwing up this morning. Heaving like hell. Then about 9am felt fine!!! Very strange!!! It's far to early to be morning sickness!! Some ic arrived this morning, they are so small!!

Bex my cycle have been out of whack since coming off bc,
Month 1 28
Month 2 28
Month 3 1 week late
Month 4 2 weeks late.

This month I've had my normal o signs, so af is due in 8 days, so I'm hoping it's either a normal cycle again, or a bfp!!! So I think month one/two you just chart and use opk's if you wish, dtd as much as possible, hope for a bfp or learn from charting. Good luck though x x x
