That's my issue as I wasn't temping so my guess at ovulation was purely based on 14 days backwards from when I expected my period to arrive. It was also my first real period after having no contraception so I didn't really know or understand what my cycle was either. I had predicted I was going to ovulate on a Sunday (can't remember the exact date) but all my scans which have been done at 3 separate venues, all date the pregnancy as though I conceived on the Wednesday prior to my predicted Sunday ovulation Smile

Thankfully me and hubby had had some 'just for fun' sex on the Wednesday morning - all our other planned DTD for 'Sunday's Ovulation' turned out to be pointless Smile

I just want to say how lovely everyone is! mama good of you to cross everything for us longstanding few! writer if I were jaykay I'd be so grateful for your post (I know jaykay is). I've had a terrible few weeks bit this have given me hope which I'd lost...

Thanks all.

Looking forwArd to peeving at poas party Tom

jaykay987 · 17/10/2013 11:06

I am of course very gratefulSmile

Writerwannabe83 · 17/10/2013 11:14

Hi m33r, the more time I spend on the Bus Thread the more confused I get about how conception. How can it be so random? Some women temp, chart, use OPKS and DTD every day for 2 weeks and still don't fall pregnant yet other women have a random quickie and fall pregnant. None of it makes sense to me. It astounds me how varied it is. Some women 'know' they are pregnant from as early as conception whereas other women have no clue and some people have every symptom under the sun whilst others have none. The whole concept of conception and pregnancy is a mystery in my eyes and nothing is a guarantee. When I read some people's stories about how long they have been trying I have nothing but admiration for their positivity and perseverance because they know that one month it will happen for them. I have seen a few other posters make comments like the baby will come when it is the right time for them and maybe there is some truth in that? I genuinely believe that everyone will get their BFP eventually, it will just happen quicker for some than others. That's why I keep hanging around, you all deserve your babies and I can't wait to see you all announce that they are on their way x x

RaRa1988 · 17/10/2013 11:18

Jaykay: I think being overweight could make a difference, but I think your height is more likely to come into play as taller people have larger blood volumes. There's a thing on the blood.co.uk website somewhere - I remember looking at it to compare how much blood my 6ft3 bf would have compared to me (5ft3) and being astonished at quite how great the difference actually was. Not all women metabolise HCG at the same rate either, or so I've heard. Fingers crossed Smile

GinandStripes · 17/10/2013 11:22

Aaaawwww writer you've got me all misty eyed.

It's all so true, it doesn't really matter what we do to try and conceive, there is something else deciding when it will actually happen for each of us.

VickyVix · 17/10/2013 11:23

Here here writer :)

Panic that's amazing news!! So pleased for you Grin Grin you must be absolutely over the moon. I can't believe I missed it this morning, it was the one morning I didn't log in on my way to work!

jaykay and allchat i would definitely recommend using a FRER or a clearblue plus to test. I have my fingers crossed for you. I can't really help with the early testing, I think I got my BFP on dpo 14, but had not tested any earlier than that BUT looking at dates I think I must have done my calcs wrong because my AF should have been due on 8th Oct not 14th (no idea how I could have got it that wrong!) so it was likely a week late so no clue what dpo really, but could have been dpo20 or so

allchatnicknamesgone · 17/10/2013 11:24

Jaykay - your post earlier made me think twice so just looked t my fertility friend (bit of a love and hate relationship at the moment). Also I ovulated on the 3rd, so I'm a day earlier than you....

Tomorrow if actually marked as CD1, so with today being dpo14, I suppose it's not entirely unrealistic that I could still be.....Last night the pain was so pregnancy pain, but now it just feels like AF cramps.

Went mental at DH this morning. I reminded him that my period was due (this annoys me in itself) and told him I'd done a test and it was negative. He told me to have a poo cos that normally brings my AF on. I cried and told him he was an insensitive shit and to find someone to go out drinking with tonight because I don't want to see him! Bloody hell, I wish men could just spend one day being us. Even an hour.

Writerwannabe83 · 17/10/2013 11:27

OMG allchat- that wasn't the most sensitive thing of your husband to say! Some of them just don't have a clue do they?! I hope you are feeling a little better now but I can completely understand why you went mental x

lucyfluff · 17/10/2013 11:28

Just read through....woe congrats panic that is lovely news for you after 11 months...really chuffed for you Grin Grin Grin

Hang on in there jaykay, your weight wont have anything to do with it, I bet its just early testing. Maybe try a diff one at the party tmrw? I will be waiting to see!!!

Ive been at the docs again this morning (yes im turning into psycho paranoia health freak) over tummy pains Sad she did internal and all looks ok...seems to think its a tummy bug?!!! and/OR stress related...possibly but its annoying me and want it to dissapear grrrr!!!

lucyfluff · 17/10/2013 11:30

ps writer very true words Grin Grin Grin

jaykay987 · 17/10/2013 11:30

allchat - I feel for you. Men can be so insensitive!

Can you send me your ff link? I'll have a look.

jaykay987 · 17/10/2013 11:33

Lucy - I'm thinking I'll use a FRER tomorrow as I'll be dpo 14

rara - that's interesting. Though given my overwhelming stumpyness....I should probably get a positive dpo 1! Grin

It's amazing how many people on here have fairly high dpo day when testing positive. Makes me wonder who these hpt companies are getting their stats from. So misleading!

lucyfluff · 17/10/2013 11:38

Yeah good plan jaykay and good luck Grin Grin Grin

jaykay987 · 17/10/2013 11:54

thanks Lucy. Hope you get better soon!

allchatnicknamesgone · 17/10/2013 11:56

Jaykay only used FF as an app on my phone for the last month - no idea how to share. I went back a few months though and entered as much data as possible to let them 'analyse' me.

I think you are still in the game because you are testing before the recommended time. Despite all the marketing, we need to remember that even the health professionals say to wait until the day AF is due or you are late. I do wonder whether we stress out ourselves more testing early - don't mean to be party popper! I don't think your weight comes into it either. Hang tight.

PS - had my poo and no period! Up yours boyfriend (btw I call him DH because we've been together for 11 yrs and calling him bf seems odd - we also plan to wed next year, unless I kill him first).

jessieagain · 17/10/2013 12:02

I agree about the early testing jaykay. You are only 'supposed' to poas when af is late. So you are definitely still in :)

jaykay987 · 17/10/2013 12:06

yes. thatidalk true re early testing.

allchat, let me see if you do it from phone....
though I'd recommend holding off the strangling ......until after the wedding! as a widow you'd be entitled to more.....Grin

DH and I only got married last year - we've been 10years together - so O know what you mean re Bf!

jaykay987 · 17/10/2013 12:09

sorry. terrible spelling. geammer

onelifeonechance · 17/10/2013 12:14

EVERYONE on here is lovely! Love reading all your comments and seeing how much we support each other. It so helps to have a bit of help through the crap times so our inner queen of doom doesn't take over, and then it's so nice saying something to try and lift others when their chips are down.
I'm feeling the need for another group hug, come on pile in Grin

onelifeonechance · 17/10/2013 12:16

Lucy, hope tummy pains bugger off and leave you alone v soon. How are you diddling otherwise?

Choccywoccydodah · 17/10/2013 12:17

Jaykay I was worried about weight too. I'm not what you would call fat, but according to the bmi I'm 26 rather than under 25 which is preferred, so I'm classed as 'overweight'.
I'm 5'9" and weigh nearly 13 stone, vs I was 11 st 7lb when ttc ds and slim. I've always had an athletic build though.
I still fit in all of my clothes pre ds, I'm just less toned than I was before ds. So although I'm panicking that I should lose weight really, my body is actually the same.
I should ask a dr really!!

onelifeonechance · 17/10/2013 12:19

Ooo Rara interesting about blood volume and height. I'm practically 6ft, def sticking to my plan of testing next week then

Choccywoccydodah · 17/10/2013 12:19

Allchat give him a slap Wink

OP posts:
lucyfluff · 17/10/2013 12:26

Thanks onelife Smile group hug lol !!! Im good apart from that stupid pain...GP said not to start ttc again until first period today but Im not going to!!! naughty I know but we really want to get cracking Grin

Actually they also said about early testing and how its sadly highlighting more chemical pregnancies for women. Its pretty common by sounds of it. I think its given me a kick up the bum to wait until im late to poas..
well try to #famouslastwords !!!!
