Donor IUI?

MinnieMooMoo · 09/10/2013 15:12

Hello! Just looking for a group/quiche to join but not really sure where I fit it.

I'm intending to go it alone and have Donor Insemination by IUI starting in January providing my investigations all come back clear.

Any one else in the same boat, or has done it alone in the past?

P.S. Anyone any idea how long Crinone needs to be used for? I am guessing maybe up to 12/13 weeks but I've just realised I haven't a clue! x

pickle162 · 23/02/2016 18:29

How'd ur scan go kwick?
I know I keep saying it but taydex I'm so excited for you and lovely double lines on the tests :)

CautionHormone · 23/02/2016 20:34

OMG OMG taydex!!!!!!! They're bloody fantastic lines! You are most definitely pregnant, start believing it!!! I cannot wait to see your FRER test :) I'm so happy for you and your wife - you're going to have a beautiful baby!!!

kwick how did your scans go? I understand what you mean - there's still a lot to get through yet, but it will all be worth it!

taydex, I think I am going to go to the doctors and see what they say about my periods. They used to be so regular, no idea why they've started playing up. I'm going to see what else I can get done on the NHS - it'll save so much money, and like you said, it's money I can keep saved up for more IUI's :) xx

Kwick709 · 23/02/2016 22:23

taydex I have heard crinone being used up to 12 weeks but your clinic should advise you.... This is so exciting!

So I had my scan - 3mm lining and 2 follicles visible... I feel a little disappointed... They tried to get blood in 3 different places (left hand, left arm, right hand). IT IS OFFICIAL: I am a pin cushion! Then the clinic rang to tell me to stick to medication levels (I am on max dose of everything) and that my consultant wanted to move next scan from thursday to friday... I guess this means I am taking longer than expected?

Very strange day overall... Have felt like I am in a fog... Not able to concentrate... Very tired. Perhaps the meds... Anyway I am off to bed now, night, night!

Ps I Forgot to take my morning pills this am...so have just taken...

taydex · 23/02/2016 22:53

Hello ladies,

If any of you have an Asda local take a look. Lots of offers on the tests (FRER 2 for £6) and also Bio Oil (£6.50 instead of £14) etc. I've got me some fancy pants tests. Will update in the morning. Even though we pretty much know it's a positive now. Eep!!!

Kwik - That sounds good to me. Don't forget it only takes one. And there's still time for more to develop. Please try and stay positive. The one time that my follicles took longer to develop appears to be the one time it actually worked. So hang on in the sweetie. Try to get a good night's sleep, relax if you can.

xx

taydex · 24/02/2016 07:18

Morning ladies,

Hope you're all well. Kwik - how are you feeling today? Hope you managed to get some sleep and de-fog your head a bit.

Thought you might lke to see this morning's photo.

AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Hang on in there ladies, it looks like IUI really can work!

Love you all. Thanks for all your support, you've been amazing.

TayDex xx

Taydex I am sooooooooooo happy for you!!! Methinks that is now conclusive!!! Congratulations!!! Star

Sleep was not so great but I got up early and listened to relax ivf track so hopefully I will keep calm and in a better frame of mind... We are presenting to our senior team today and then I have my appraisal with my boss this pm... So no rest for the wicked!

taydex · 24/02/2016 10:21

Thank you Kwik - I will keep you all posted on progress. Have appt at clinic on Saturday.

Good luck with today. Try to stay positive and relaxed if you can (I know, easier said than done when you have all that going on).

xx

CautionHormone · 24/02/2016 13:13

taydex, what wonderful news! You have no idea how pleased I am for you, this is all so exciting!!! Please keep us updated with how things go on Saturday - and throughout your pregnancy! We love you too 😘

kwick, please try and stay positive. I know it's hard but it can happen, and it will happen - just look at our taydex! Don't worry about things taking a little longer, good things come to those who wait :) you've got so much going on, so please take some time out for yourself too, to relax and look after yourself. Xx

CautionHormone · 24/02/2016 19:56

taydex I can't stop looking at the photo you attached from this morning. I am seriously over the moon for you both Star

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 19:59

Taydex here are the two books I got which you might want to consider too:
Expecting better by Emily Oster
Right Time Baby by Claudia Spahr... I am not sure if you are as advanced in years as me - this is for later motherhood

caution and taydex thank you so much for your well wishes... Actually had a bit of a cry when I saw your lovely messages. Both work things went well - thanks.

I am trying to stay positive but I have started to catch myself working out when I would go again if this fails.... NEED TO GIVE MYSELF A GOOD TALKING TO AS THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT ATTITUDE AT ALL!!!!!

pickle162 · 24/02/2016 20:35

Kwick-Just keep on swimming my lovely, you'll get through it and we are here to support you all the way
Taydex eek that frer test makes everything so much real-er doesn't it,you must be so happy/excited
Caution-how's ur mummy doing?

X

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 22:00

Fank you pickle ....just had another little cry.

pickle162 · 25/02/2016 04:00

Flowersx

taydex · 25/02/2016 09:24

Morning ladies,

Thanks for all your messages. It's starting to feel real at last. That said, I don't have any symptoms, so just mentally starting to feel real. Think once I've been to the appointment at my clinic on Saturday and had the first scan (sometime between 35 and 45 days) it might begin to feel a bit more real.

Kwik - Thanks for the book recommendations, I'll take a look. I have a few but don't have either of those. I'm 36 so getting on enough to read that book I think Smile Do please try to stay positive. This is something I've struggled with myself. I've spent so much time during my cycles writing lists of things I'd like to do/eat/drink when I get to the end of the 2WW and get another BFN that I realised yesterday I don't have a list for if it's a BFP! So far all I've done is buy some BioOil (because it was on offer in Asda) and a baby book from a charity shop when I had a wander in to town from work the other lunchtime. I'm too superstitious to buy anything else!

Right, I have to shoot off to a meeting. Laters ladies, Flowers all round. xx

taydex · 25/02/2016 12:09

When I say 'baby book' I mean a pregnancy book.

Kwik - What's the latest on your treatment? What's the next step? Is there anything between now and your next scan tomorrow? I have my fingers crossed for you that they're developing nicely.

Caution - How's your Mummy doing? I hope she's having a speedy recovery. How's the rest of your family doing? Are you still having to hold everything together for them?

Pickle - Are you still at the saving for IUI stage? Any news on your op? Or nothing till the appt mid March?

Shoes - Are you planning your next cycle?

TD x

CautionHormone · 25/02/2016 14:54

Ah bless you kwick. Didn't mean to make you cry - sorry! Just know that we're all behind you. Don't think or plan your next IVF yet - this one could work wonders! Keep smiling lovely.

taydex & pickle - Mum's ok. We thought the surgery had near on cured her as its been two weeks today and she hasn't had a bad tummy, but she's had one today so looks as though this isn't the end of the road yet :( I am still having to hold it together - I'm the one doing the housework etc whilst my dad & brother are at work! Mums upstairs sleeping at the moment and I've just blitzed the house. Always feels good after a good clean. Thank you for asking after her ❤️

You're right taydex, it'll probably feel so much more real after Saturday. Will you keep us posted?! I can't wait til I'm in your position, but this year may be a bit of a washout because Mum may actually need the surgery they were meant to do two weeks ago - to take away part of her bowel! Why they didn't just do it there and then I'll never know! Angry

Hope you're all ok ladies x

taydex · 25/02/2016 15:07

Glad to hear your Mum is doing OK, hopefully it's just a little blip today and not as bad as you think. Fingers crossed.

And yes, of course I will keep you posted. I will stay on here as I want to know how the rest of you are getting on. Perhaps you can use the delay to concentrate on saving some money?

Kwick709 · 25/02/2016 18:03

Have been feeling a bit wierd today... Am putting it down to the meds kicking in. I did the hypnosis cd this morning again to aid stimulation.. I have my next scan tomorrow - I am a bit apprehensive.

caution sorry to hear about your mummy. Lets hope the next op will put her right.

On way home from work already to get home b4 7pm as I have to be on a conf call and inject at the same time... Talk about multi-tasking!

CautionHormone · 25/02/2016 19:25

She seems ok now she's woken up taydex - she takes herself back to bed to "reset" herself - it's looking like a bit of a blip, thankfully!
Yeah that's what I intend on doing. Saving as much as I can... Can't hurt to have a bit more behind me than I first planned, can it? It still may be the back end of summer yet, will have to just wait and see what happens.

Thank you kwick, we see the surgeon again in about 2-4 weeks now (I'll be going with her!) to see what the next options are.
It likely is the meds, how do you feel when you say 'weird'? Let us know how your scan goes. I'm sure all will be fine - mind over matter!
You're so much better at multi tasking than me - I swear I'm not a woman half the time, I can only do one thing at once! 😂
Hope you're call is going/has gone alright! X

pickle162 · 25/02/2016 19:35

Won't know anymore about leg op till 14th March then have to try and fit in with work as to when I can have it done :(
I'm about £2600 away from being credit card free and then can finally start saving every penny I have...hoping to start around next April/may time when I'll be 33 and still have time for egg share Ivf if iui isn't successful.so long away but want to be financially better off and have enough to have a few goes in a row if need be

Kwick709 · 25/02/2016 21:33

Credit card free... Yes I finally got there a while back (but add a 0 to what you owe)... I am right back there now though!

Wierd: feeling a bit meh: very pissed off with others (it could have got a bit nasty in a team meeting earlier when I wanted to deck someone...!), not sure how to describe rest of wierd...

taydex · 25/02/2016 22:19

Wanting to punch your colleges isn't weird is it? I want to punch my colleagues most days!

pickle162 · 26/02/2016 07:14

Haha hope totally a regular daily thought :)
Good luck with your scan today kwick, keeping everything crossed xx

Kwick709 · 26/02/2016 08:07
