Donor IUI?

Hello! Just looking for a group/quiche to join but not really sure where I fit it.

I'm intending to go it alone and have Donor Insemination by IUI starting in January providing my investigations all come back clear.

Any one else in the same boat, or has done it alone in the past?

Hi ladies :)

Sorry I've not been very active, Mums been bad again so I've been staying with her to try and help my brother and Dad through it - they get flappy when she's bad, I seem to be the only grounded one! As far as we know she's scheduled for Thursday and it's all going ahead... They had put her in for Wednesday but cancelled it again a few days later saying that they wanted to avoid the strikes. We'll see whether it goes ahead or not, though. I'm so nervous about it because she's going to be under anaesthetic for a long time, and what they're doing is quite major, so I'm a bit worried about what'll happen. Got to stay positive though! IUI will have to be on a bit of a back burner til at least April, because of looking after her afterwards.

How are you all feeling ladies? Taydex how're you feeling?! How's your 2ww going?! Congratulations on the new job, are you going to wait to accept the offer after the 2ww or going to go ahead and take it anyway? :)

Started nasal spray today... And thyroid tablets... All have different rules about when to take... Have to be on my a-game to not screw it up!

Sorry kwik - I only just saw your message from last night. Italy should be good. It's been a busy year so far so be nice to get a little break. Might also take my mind off the 2WW. We're going to Bari in Puglia (south east coast). Re the aspirin, Tesco also do enteric coated 75 mg which is what I'm taking. Seems OK so far. Good luck with all your meds. I end up setting alarms on my phone for all my meds, that might help?

Caution - good to see you back. Totally understand you taking time off here. You don't need to apologise. Looking after your mum is way more important. Fingers crossed your mum's appointment goes ahead OK on Thursday.

So, job update from me. I went back to the recruitment agent asking for more money, she went back to the hiring company and they said yes! Whoop whoop! So I've verbally accepted. Eek! Got to wait for the paperwork etc to come through but already told my old (oops, should that be current?!) boss. Exciting/scary stuff!

I hope you feel better soon. Sounds like it could probably be the drugs. Are you limited on what medication you're able to take (ibuprofen etc) to ease the pain at this stage or not yet? Fingers crossed it's just the drugs and only for a few more days.

Quick q re the aspirin - and I only ask because I read on the packet over breakfast this morning "do not take if pregnant" - it was your clinic that told you to take the aspirin, wasn't it? I'm still taking it cos I trust you I just wanted to check.

Yep my consultant told me to take aspirin. Did you google it - there is a study on how it can prevent misarriage.

Only allowed parcetomol at the mo - but trying to avoid taking anything further than what I have to. Head has been pounding all day and I am not even sure I am doing nasal spray right.

I'm doing a bit better thanks, trying not to let work get to me as much....just tomorrow to get through then I'm off till Wednesday wahooooo! Going to my aunties for my birthday :)
Ooh and my sofas sold yay! They should be picked up tomorrow, person has paid so progress from last time :)

Glad to hear you are well pickle I am very jealous for your time off - enjoy!

Next step for me is to stop Norethisterone tablets on Saturday and wait for withdrawal bleed, then I will have a baseline scan and start the injections, scans and blood tests... For about 10 days, then around day 14 I will have egg collection (hoping there will be LOADS to collect) and then hopefully the magic happens and a few days later embryo transfer!

Tomorrow, joy of joys, I have to swab myself and take the sample to the clinic for analysis. God knows what they are checking for now.

Pickle - hi, good to see you back. How are you doing? Do you have much planned for your time off or just relaxing? Almost 1 week done now on the 2WW. Helpfully my clinic tell me on 1 bit if paper to test on Friday next week and on another to test Saturday. LOL. In previous cycles I've generally been able to tell aunt Flo is on her way by test date so we'll see...

Right, I'm off to explore the sights of Italy sans caffeine and sans booze. Whose silly idea was this?!

I'm the same with mixing up Italian and Spanish. Seems decaf (said day-caf) is the lingo, although sin caf seems to be understood if they look at me blankly. Although I'm pretty sure I've had at least 1 full caff here and latte appears to sometimes come in a diddy espresso cup... Still, I think we mostly got what we wanted, and I've mostly managed to stay good on the food too.

Ooh, fancy new hair. Get you! Bet it looks lovely. I'm thinking of a possible restyle before I start my new job. Not sure what though...

Enjoy your Die Hards with the nephling. Last day in Italy for us tomorrow. Loved it but looking forward to getting home.

Mums op went ahead Thursday - hurrah!! Been busy visiting her etc but she's home now as she didn't have any cut out in the end. She's still got a 4" scar under her left ribs where they had to feel her intestines - such a lovely thought! Going to stay here still for a few weeks til she's properly on the road to recovery. We're just hoping whatever they've done has actually helped, and not hindered. We'll find out in due course!

taydex how's your 2ww going?? I've skim-read the previous messages and it sounds like you're having a lovely time in Italy. How long did you go for, just a few days? Congratulations on your job & getting them to agree to more money - that's great news!!

Aw bless you, thank you kwick. I try my best! Had to be there to help her shower and all sorts yesterday, to make sure she didn't bend down and slip. She's doing a jigsaw today so she must be ok!!
