Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

Happy New Year Brookers!

Possibly a few hangovers may still be being nursed, hence the quietness in here!

AF has rocked up here again, stoopid mare. To think I'm on anti-AF drugs for three months, I've bled more in the last two months than I do normally.

musicalmrs · 02/01/2014 22:11

Happy new year Geek and Too!

Too, how're you feeling? When's your first scan?

Geek, sorry to hear AF has rocked up again :( How are you feeling? I am sooo jealous of your crafty room! :)

Solars · 02/01/2014 23:46

Happy New Year lovely brookers! I'm looking forward to hearing about all your BFP's this year!!

ControlGeek · 03/01/2014 08:39

I'm fine thanks musical, no pain, just annoyance factor. Hangover has also finally gone and I'm back on my health kick. Having a craft room is amazing, I can highly recommend it!!

DinoSnores · 03/01/2014 09:26

musical, I am on CD8 now. Is it full steam ahead with ttc with you as well then? Excellent! We were BFP buddies before so let's hope we are again soon!

geek, that sounds rather draining. Your crafty room sounds amazing and very civilised!

solars, this will be a very happy year for you too!

musicalmrs · 03/01/2014 11:07

Happy new year to you too Solars! :)

Geek glad to hear it's not painful, but must be draining as Dino says :(

Dino, full steam ahead here, although my cycles are probably up the spout so it may take a while. We've been full steam since mid Nov, though fully aware that cycle madness may take a while to settle down. No longer BFing, so maybe that'll help them return to normal sooner. Being BFP buddies again would be wonderful!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 03/01/2014 15:16

Hey musical, I might be joining you this month too. Really keen to ttc this month, but DH having a slight wobble about the financial implications of going from 2 to 3 dc's and the fact I currently have no income since I sold my clients last year. I will get a lump sum in 12 months time but the value is uncertain and things are really tight so I can see his point a bit but I really want to ttc as we are not getting any younger and I know I will have massive regrets if we don't have any more dc's. I think money being tight will not be a lifelong issue and that we should go for it whilst we still can. The only debt is my mortgage and whilst we don't have much left in savings, he is an only child and will inherit circa £200k in the next 10 years ish and I stand to inherit circa £100k in circa 15 years. May sound morbid talking about this but I'm just being realistic that in the next 10-15 years our inheritances are inevitable and at that point money will not be any issue but it would feel empty to me to have all that money and only 2 children, we only get one life and I just think there is no point worrying about things being tight for another couple of years when we know that eventually it will all be ok. Am I making any sense? Anyone any tips on living cheaply as if I could cut our outgoings slightly it might help. House is on the market as trying to move to a cheaper house in the Midlands as currently live in a big one in Cambs, but I can't rely on that to sell immediately!

musicalmrs · 03/01/2014 15:58

Hi Loopy! That's very exciting! Do you think you'll be able to win DH round?

I know what you mean about inheritance. We stand to inherit a lot from one side, but not for many years. It seems horrible factoring it into long term finances but it would be silly not to. For us it's a long way into the future though.

So lovely to see all these Brooking faces here Smile

ScarlettInSpace · 03/01/2014 22:06

Happy New Year all!

I finished work today so am technically unemployed until I start my new job on Monday lol

Big love to all brookers past & present and Wine to a healthy happy 2014 all round xxx

musicalmrs · 03/01/2014 22:24

Scarlett, so sorry to hear you're unemployed for two days Wink. How are you? Hurrah for finishing the old job!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 03/01/2014 22:40

Happy new year brookers!

Dino and Loopy (hopefully) lovely to see you back ttc. Loopy I had to live very frugally when I was training to be a nurse as we only had £250 left a month after paying our bills and before food. Spreadsheets are your friend! I found budgeting our food bill and money spent eating out was the easiest place to save money. I totally get why you don't want to wait to ttc, hopefully you can find some ways to save money and convince DH.

Music fingers crossed its finally AF or a sneaky BFP Wink

Geek when are you starting stimming? I'm looking at about at about the 24th for my next AF. Fingers crossed we are cycle buddies Smile

Scarlett yay!!!!! Enjoy your 2 days of freedom. How do you feel? I finish next Friday. Had my last meeting with my boss today. He said lots of lovely stuff about how much I'll be missed and how good I am at my job. I nearly cried!

Beedle if you are still reading by any chance I just want to say happy new year. I hope you and MrB are well xx

ScarlettInSpace · 03/01/2014 22:57

It's weird to be unemployed even though it's not 'real' - and my lovely New boss arranged for me to have a hire car dropped off tonight cos my company car went back today & I don't get my new one til Monday Xmas Grin

Very excited for Monday though!!

I nearly cried today when my team mates gave me a lovely sendoff...

Ooooh in TTC news, this month I have what is potentially a Pre AF Symptom - Sore Boobs! First time in months, hopefully that nasty DHEA is really on its way out now Xmas Grin

musicalmrs · 03/01/2014 23:26

Happy new year to you too Cups! How are you? Hurrah for your new job being imminent too!

I did think it could be a sneaky BFP when AF decided to cut her visit short - precisely how she did when I got my last BFP! However, she's now back with a vengeance! Not upset, as I wasn't expecting anything this quickly. Just hoping my cycles will calm down now.

SantaMaybe · 04/01/2014 11:46

Happy new year lovely Brookers! I'm sorry I haven't been around much.

Firstly, I need to apologise for the lack of cake recipes. I thought I had sent them. But they didn't go. I feel awful Sad.

Dino I'm so glad you're back TTC! How exciting! And you too Loopy!

Musical is your body behaving yet?

Cups the 24th is so nearly here! How are you feeling about it all?

How are the drugs treating you Geek? Are you feeling better now after your poor throat and chest?

Scarlett how exciting!! When do you start the new job? High five to the sore norks! There's nothing quite like an ironic BFP when you're about to start a new job.....

ControlGeek · 04/01/2014 12:36

musical sorry AF's messing you around, but I have everything crossed that this is you getting back to normal now. BFP, here you come!

dino and loopy good to see you both back here. I second what cups said about spreadsheets being your budgeting friend. Spreadsheets and pivot tables. And pivot charts.

scarlett your new employers sound amazing! Those days between confirmed jobs are weird, aren't they?

cups oh my, I hadn't realised your job change was so imminent, too! Good luck, I'm so pleased your boss is being lovely. There's nothing worse than them playing the 'we never really needed you anyway and you won't be missed' card.

maybe did you have a good Christmas and New Year? I'm fully over the horrible throat/chest thing now, thank goodness. The drugs are ok. Weird random bleeding, some twinges but nothing that could be called pain. A bit of bloating, and some days where all I want to do is cry, but I gather that's completely normal so I try not to get worried when that happens as I know it will pass.

I'm not sure when my clinic re-opens following the Christmas break. I'm going to try ringing them on Monday. I need my final jab on January 15th, and should start stimming the same day. I'll be stimming for around 13 days if last time is anything to go by, so should be finished by 28th Jan. Cups that will make us stimming buddies, even if it's just for a few days. Yay! I'm mainly coping by keeping myself completely distracted. Lots of crafty things are helping, and I'm back shredding every day and doing the 5:2/AD Fasting again to shed those Christmas pounds.

SantaMaybe · 04/01/2014 14:49

Oh Geek, not long now at all!!! Glad you are feeling ok with the drugs. How are you feeling about everything in general? Glad you're over all the nasty bugs. Christmas was lovely thank you, time is going so quickly though, it was over so quick!

I miss Jillian! Almost tempted to just pop her on to get my fix Wink

SantaMaybe · 04/01/2014 14:50
musicalmrs · 04/01/2014 20:02

Geek, she's not messing me around too much. I couldn't expect a normal visit after 2 1/3 years Wink. Glad the crafting and shredding are keeping you busy..!

Maybe, I'm not sure on the behaving stakes, but AF has been relatively convincing, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I have (on Geek's suggestion) some OPKs for the next cycle. Not so much to determine precisely when I OV, but more to check and ensure I do (and stop me worrying endlessly if I haven't).

Scarlett, hurrah for a pre-AF (or pre-BFP?!) symptom :)

SantaMaybe · 04/01/2014 20:08

That makes sense Musical, it's always good to have some reassurance isn't it? Hope AF plays nice and leaves you in leave shortly Smile

RubberBaubles · 04/01/2014 20:40

Remember me? You fell off my TIO, I'm a bad brooker.

I'm hoping to be able to join you properly again this year. College finishes 2nd July so theoretically can TTC in June. MS started at 5 weeks with DD and I don't want to risk it happening before I finish the course. As I'm a fatty I need to take extra folic acid so am trying to plan when to start taking that. I haven't talked to DH yet about when to TTC although he is aware of my intention to have another and he is happy with that.

musicalmrs · 04/01/2014 21:30

Think she's disappeared today Maybe. Let the rat smacking commence..!

Rubber. Shocking that we fell off of your TIO. How exciting that it won't be long until you're joining us too! June isn't that far away.

Really need to stop MNing and procrastinating tonight. Getting very little done, and I have a deadline tomorrow/Monday :(

SantaMaybe · 05/01/2014 12:25

Woohoo, go Musical!

How exciting Rubber! How is the course going?

Munxx · 05/01/2014 12:51

AF has arrived in the Munx house.....

Sorry to be brief am on phone and feeding.

RubberBaubles · 05/01/2014 16:50

Course is going really well thanks. I am ahead of the rest of the class so have done some exams early.

musicalmrs · 05/01/2014 18:36

That sounds excellent Rubber. I'm a tad jealous - I absolutely love studying. Plan to do a PhD one day, but have to find time and money first..

Faint line on an OPK today, which I'm guessing means that there's actually some LH going on in my body? Hurrah! (I presume it's properly dark for a positive?).
