This is all so new & scary to me so just looking for people I can chat to who know as fewof the abbreviations as me and are going through all the same scary stuff for the first time!! Either that or some pro's who don't mind my million questions!!

I'm very early stages as in body still coming off the contraceptive pill so it might be a while til a get my BFP (I do know that one!!) so might need some chums in the meantime!

I'm a crazed baby-wanting machine ATM. If I'm not occupied with work or our DD (who is 3 soon) all I can think is all things baby! Currently cd12 so am trying to get OH to bonk lots but he's so tired with work and doesn't 'see the rush' ie; it'll happen when it happens. I thought that too until we started actively trying - now I'm determined not to waste an egg!! crazy woman rant over

barmybunting · 12/10/2013 21:48

tinaw20, I started temping when I came off the pill. I had given up hoping I would OV last cycle, but carried on temping as I was determined to see the cycle through. Suddenly loads of ewcm appeared for about 4 days, so I did an opk and that was positive, fertility friend then confirmed I had oved on the day it had been positive based on my temps so I'm assuming that it was around then. AF arrived 12 days later, so it seems to make sense as it all lined up together.

I am however now not temping, I was only doing it whilst DH was away in an attempt to get to know my cycle. I don't think he could quite face that so soon in the process if I'm honest - or rather, I don't think he is fully aware of quite how baby crazed I am at the moment so temping might make that a bit more obvious! I am using opks though, and depending on how this cycle goes, may well soon be back to temping.

I reckon you may still ovulate this cycle. My first cycle was 28 days, and my second was the silly 56 day odd long one. This is now my 3rd cycle off the pill, I think a lot of people do have a normal first cycle then 2nd and 3rd cycles can go up and down a bit so I guess it's just being patient.

Are you testing in any way to track ov?

tinaw20 · 13/10/2013 10:20

Barmy- yeah I'm temping but I haven't noticed anything, my temp is up & down constantly and I keep charting on ovufriend but it's twice told me I'm on a fertile day according to temp & ewcm but when I've done an opk it's been negative!! Have only dtd 3 times over the last 2 weeks as dh seems a bit disheartened when I tell him it's a negative opk, which ruins the mood for him I think :( I had 3/4 days of ewcm and my temp had risen but the opk was def negative!! I've ran out now so going to order some cheapies off amazon and start doing it every day! I really felt like I was ov'ing a few days back - heavy stomach, bit crampy, watery cm, but again the test was negative Confused

Well AF has just arrived on day 18 for some unknown reason so I definately didn't ovula teduring that cycle. Hopefully this cycle will be a bit more regular! I have no idea what is going on!

Tina that's odd about the opks not showing up. I know some people have to use them at different times of the day for them to pick it up. It's hard to know what's going on! Sorry to hear your dh is finding it disheartening. It's hard enough to understand when we can check the signs but must be very frustrating for them if they are as impatient as we are. My dh is struggling to get his head around why I want to know what's happening, he doesn't seem to realise quite how messed up your cycle can become from the pill. Using opks every day is probably a good plan. Hopefully that'll help clear up what's happening.

Who knew coming off birth control could be so frustrating!

Breakingbadaddict · 13/10/2013 23:05

It's massively frustrating! I've booked an appt with a nutritionist to see if my diet can help balance my hormones/fix my skin, seems a bit drastic but I'm veggie & not a good cook so I'm concerned I might be lacking in something, appts not till 2nd Nov though, gives me time to keep a food diary, it'll be interesting to see what she says

sittingpretty25 · 15/10/2013 12:34

I've booked an appt with my GP to see if he can do some tests to see if everything is ok - I may have had an ovarian cyst a few years ago (for which some silly surgeon took my appendix out and the gyneo told me some girls gets stomach ache...) so I'm hoping the pill hasnt masked any silly problems as I'm getting lower bad pain - like a kidney infection although I know its not that - and cramps, like I'm going to AF but day 40 and no sign at all - apart from being super tired all the time, weepy etc ... still BFN though.

I hate the pill so much!!!

sittingpretty25 · 15/10/2013 12:37

breakingbadaddict I'm also a veggie - I just make sure I eat plenty of greens - for iron, the darker the colour the better for you, all your pulses etc. Also been taking pregnacare - for conception and onwards which will have all the vits you are missing inc folic acid.
I use a lot of Jamie Olive recipes as they super yummy - and easy to follow! also, asda online has some good vege ideas - or I adapt meat versions - using quorn mince for example - many meat eaters can't tell the diff (specially not my DH who is very unaware I have put him on a good 'swimmers' diet!!!) :)

tinaw20 · 16/10/2013 09:02

AF arrived today!! A few days early too which is prob how I missed ovulating this month! Must've left it too late! Dammit!! No symptoms for AF though which is weird as I always get moody and have horrendous cramps! Maybe they'll arrive in the next few days.... I hope someone is having better luck than me!! X

Hi everyone!

I'm 39 (40 in December eek!), met the love of my life in 2010 and we just got married in July Smile. Have been ttc since with no luck. I'm going to an acupuncturist and a herbalist to try to help the process, and I've gone part time at work with the stress levels. Currently at 13dpo but have been spotting for a couple of days, so pretty sure AF is coming.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 16/10/2013 09:22

breakingbadaddict, I agree with poster sittingpretty25 on the green leafy veggies and the pulses. Also, I bought myself a super duper masticating juicer (Matstone if anyone is interested) and I'm taking at least two juices a day from an organic veg box to try to get good quality vitamins in me.

DearDinah · 16/10/2013 09:44

(Breakingbadaddict here, changed my NN now BB is sob all over!)

sittingpretty25 thank you for the advice, currently looking up recipes for kale and spring greens etc, will look at Jamie's recipes too... I will master the art of cooking! My DH is a big meat eater, we eat separate meals as he's on some sort of horrid cave man diet so I just find it boring to make food just for me!
Good luck at the docs, it really does make you wonder what's going on inside the longer it takes doesn't it?
BecauseIsaidso thanks for the tip re. juicing, how odd I was just looking at juicers online this morning as I was craving carrot juice!
I'm sorry you have been at this so long, it sounds like you're literally doing everything right though! Wishing you lots of luck and hoping this month is THE month for us all Thanks
Tinaw Sorry to hear AF arrived, mine did too eventually (46 days) I think we gave up trying to DTD too soon. Hey ho, onwards and upwards, keep going ladies, this WILL happen for us!

sittingpretty25 · 16/10/2013 16:51

I hope one of us is lucky soon! The odds surely must be in our favour right??? Has ANYONE on this thread got their BFP??

BecauseIsaidso Hi! I too am addicted to juicers! hehe - only I just hate cleaning the pulp out! Not sure how on earth I'm going to cope with poopy nappies, sick and snot! lol

sittingpretty25 · 16/10/2013 16:52

DearDinah Tinaw sorry to hear this guys :( EVIL AF - but on the plus side at least you know where your cycle is!!

Butttterfly · 16/10/2013 18:56

CD36 here (usually 28-30 days) and none the wiser :/

sittingpretty25 · 16/10/2013 21:37

Butttterfly I feel your pain - I'm CD41 ...

MrsCM8 · 18/10/2013 07:34

I've been lurking for the past few days as things have been really hectic. Seems like good advice re juices and things - do you put the green veg in the juice? Does it taste nice or is it just something that has to be done?

I've been symptom spotting like mad - feeling really queasy (which is really unlike me as am almost never physically sick). Odd things have been making me feel sick too - I saw an empty bottle of milk on the side for washing up and was nearly sick at the site of it. Had to wash it up immediately with my eyes closed Confused. Did a test and predictably negative. So either psychosomatic or come down from implant. But had that out a month ago so not sure if it's that.

How's everyone else? Surely there must be a bfp out there soon.....

BecauseIsaidS0 · 18/10/2013 10:02

Hi MrsCM8,

Here are my favourite combinations:

  • Beetroot, orange and ginger
  • Spinach, apple and ginger
  • Kale, cucumber and apple
  • Carrot, apple and ginger

Almost all of them have ginger because I get tons of it in the veggie box Grin but it also helps get the sting of bitter ones like kale or beetroot.

BFN for me this morning and bad AF symptomos Sad

MrsCM8 · 18/10/2013 18:57

Sorry to hear bfn becauseisaidso. Fingers crossed for next time.

The juices sound interesting.... Might give them a try. I have a juicer attachment thing for my foodprocessor. Is that likely to work or would I need a masticating one? Would prefer to use what I've got if possible as it'll save dh moaning that it's another fad.

barmybunting · 18/10/2013 20:04

Hoping I may actually have a chance this month after all now. I though AF was on the way last weekend after vague spotting, but it stopped overnight and ewcm has now appeared, and I've had 2 days of positive opks so who knows!

Sorry to hear AF has arrived for a few people. Hopefully that will be the start of a more regular cycle for those of you!

sittingpretty25 · 18/10/2013 21:36

Still waiting in no man's land - no AF, BFN last test which was Sunday.

GP say's its normal when you come off the pill.

Lots of EWCM today - but I never used to get it this bad - almost like AF started but hasn't ... bad nausea today, and my overall temperature has rocketed - I'm normally the freezing one but I've had to open windows and sit in a vest top as been too hot all day! Plus, I've had a really fluttery tummy - particularly when I lay down on my back (can't lie on my front as tummy too sore) - has one else experienced these at from coming off the pill?? Why does the symptoms have to be so like preg ones!!!!

What would you guys do? Do I keep testing (bearing in mind every BFN is a little soul destroying)? HELP!! :/

barmybunting · 18/10/2013 22:55

sittingpretty have you been temping at all? If you have, do you know how many days of higher temp have you had since you oved? I think if you have over 18 or so, it is meant to be a strong sign of pregnancy?

nappyaddict · 18/10/2013 23:01

I'm also in no man's land - CD 64!

msbsleepyhead · 19/10/2013 08:54

I'm disliking this process more than I thought I would. I feel a bit like sex is pointless unless I can conceive, which I don't think I would right now, and I'm frustrated by the wait until we can try again : ( waiting for AF to start and at the same time disappointed because my husband has been scheduled for an operation that will knock out next month's trying time, if AF comes on time. Trying is so much more complicated than I thought! Suddenly I see why having a baby is not so easy. Astonishing, then, that one of the kids I teach has just revealed she's 11 weeks pregnant : (

sittingpretty25 · 19/10/2013 19:11

barmybunting not been temping no, but I know for a fact my internal temperature is up - as I'm really warm all the time (this is someone who wraps up in summer!) Still feeling really sicky today, certain smells - today I nearly barfed / went all light headed at a plate of biscuits (however later on I ate one) and coffee. yuck - also im totally off alcohol which is nothing like me.

I'm wondering if maybe I'm ovulating as if AF had come on time (which it didnt) it would be now ... then again, if I am pg I would be 6 weeks today, which is when my sisters have only just got their BFP on three of their pregnancies ... SO SCARED TO TEST though as I know I'm going to be gutted if not - particularly feeling so blergh!!

mrsbsleepyhead how long have you being TTC? We were getting a little bit like that - but I googled conception positions (I know they mainly a myth) but they added a bit of fun and variety :) I also just keep reminding myself why I want to have a baby with my DH - just kinda reminds you how much you love your man with helps with the drive...plus my sis said enjoy it while you can as afterwards you wont want him anywhere you near!!

msbsleepyhead · 20/10/2013 10:13

thank you sittingpretty25. we haven't been TTC for long, and every time it's been the "right" time we've been struck down by bad health that has hampered efforts some what! I'm just impatient... : ) now we've decided and both are keen for it to happen, it's frustrating waiting and waiting... but I have to get used to that, I guess! thanks for your message of support though, and good luck to you! things sound cautiously positive!
