Well I thought I'd get the ball rolling and start up the October bus, there's plenty of Cake and Wine on board and extra comfy seats for relaxing into those BFP's

CD15 here and another faint OPK line this afternoon. Just hoping I ovulate tomorrow as I'll only see DH tomorrow and Weds next week what with night shifts and a hen do.
Choccy what tests have you bought to try next? I've just got the cheap ones.

jessieagain · 28/09/2013 22:51

choccy I didn't realise they were so confusing. I must read my instructions before I start using mine. The last ones I had were positive with a second line, regardless of shade, so I assumed they all were like that.

Do you have any other signs of ov?

Nulanoo · 29/09/2013 08:39

Hi ladies :)

I've been having a really rough few weeks at work so unless this month is a bfp we are going to put ttc on hold whilst I find a new job

I've got very few symptoms this month other than having a lot more discharge especially during sex (sorry tmi!!)

AF due on Friday! I've done a first response early test but bfn so I'm hoping it might turn positive or that's us put for a good while really!

Happy Sunday all xxx

englishteacher78 · 29/09/2013 08:59

I'm sticking to my not testing until I'm late rule. I can't handle the emotional roller coaster of early testing

wispaxmas · 29/09/2013 09:04

Nulanoo, if you're not due until Friday, hold off a few more days and test again, unless you meant you were due Friday past, in which case I don't know. Test again if AF stays away! I really hope you two get your bfp this month, I'm sorry you feel like stopping.

wispaxmas · 29/09/2013 09:06

And Jessie, I didn't know there were opks that were positive with a faint line. I only ever used the internet cheapies, though, and they missed my surge apparently. Caused me all sorts of annoyance, and if I was doing it again using opks, I would use them twice daily instead of just the once.

Nulanoo · 29/09/2013 09:19

Thank you, AF due this Friday coming is it 4th or 5th?

It's not that we want to stop its just work is so bad I need to move and then start up again. It's just difficult I don't want to lose any maternity rights!
X

Snowlet · 29/09/2013 09:26

Thanks for the lovely welcome!

So, argh, felt so nauseous last night (and had such sore knees!) that I almost tested but held strong - roll on 1st October!

GOOD LUCK to all the early Oct testers x

Choccywoccydodah · 29/09/2013 09:42

Morning
Not done a ov test yet as only had fmu as my lovely dh got up with ds at 7 and I've only just got up Grin

Jessie, I didn't realise there were opks that were positive with a faint line either.

Nuna the only concern I'd have about switching jobs is the maternity pay. Where I've worked in the past, it's always been you have to work for them between 3 and 6 months before you pregnant. One company was a year, but I was 22 at the time and nowhere near ttc Smile

Munday, my tests are just cheap dip a stick ones called One Step with green writing and a pink flower on the packet. My old ones were Promatris with green writing on the packet.

pocopearl · 29/09/2013 09:47

Can someone add me pls im on myphone
Pocopearl ttc 2 cycle 2 bfp due 7 oct

jessieagain · 29/09/2013 09:56

It sounds like im wrong about the faint line. I never actually used the opks (cheapies) properly as got pregnant with ds before they arrived. So I just used them out of interest to see how my cycle was (although wasn't ttc back then) ........and then they expired!!

I will have to read the instructions this time Blush

Nulanoo · 29/09/2013 09:59

I think it's 29 weeks in my the job I do but I need to look into it more. My other half did point out it gives is time to finish our house off too so it might be a good idea (trying to convince myself) I'm just worried it could take months and months to get pregnant then I'm stuck working in a job that makes me cry every day!

MundayCakes85 · 29/09/2013 10:19

I'm using the One Step ones as well. May try twice a day today as FF app says I'm very fertile! DH back today so hopefully finishing work at 8 tonight I won't miss the window Smile
Nulanoo my work says we've got to work 3 months after mat leave to keep the pay. Think all employers are different. FX this is your month.

wispaxmas · 29/09/2013 11:26

Even if you haven't been working in your job long enough to qualify for stat mat pay, if you are working you will qualify for maternity allowance, which is basically the same as stat mat pay, but without the 90% of your salary bit at the beginning.

I'm not fully versed in the rules of it, though, just briefly looked into it because of Paris and taking a long leave of absence from work during pregnancy. more info can be found here: www.gov.uk/maternity-allowance/overview

Nulanoo · 29/09/2013 13:34

Can I also ask a really silly question?! When people say they have cramps do they mean just a general dull sort of ache? Or somethhing more infrequent but sharper? I've got terrible abdominal pains today or do I class this as cramping? So uniformed on this stuff it's ridiculous! Hope someone can clear this up?!?x

GinandStripes · 29/09/2013 14:24

Hey Ladies,

I've tried to keep away this month, but I realised doing the TWW without you was torture! The things we do to ourselves. Smile

So the last 3 months - pretty much as my fertile window ends I have got sore heavy boobs... this hasn't happened this month. I'm CD21, other symptoms include mild cramping yesterday, occasionally dizzy and a bit sicky.

What do we think? More mind tricks being played on me?

jaykay987 · 29/09/2013 16:14

Hello,

I've been away and haven't read through yet. Will do now.

Im having a nightmare this month. My average ovulation is cd 19. Im cd14 today and I think I ovulated yesterday! That's almost a week early! GGgGRRrRrRR! I've been away without OH. So Im worried we've missed it this month.
Only dtd Thursday, and won't see him until tomorrow night SadCan't believe my ovulation is so early. That's 9 days earlier than last month! Plus I didn't get any flashing smileys this month, so just wasn't expecting yesterday's to be fixed. I was so happy Friday morning was "low" as I thought Id have at least 2 days flashing before ov, meaning Id be home and see OH with plenty of time. But temps seem to have confirmed I did ov yesterday (though ff will only confirm tomorrow). So frustrating! It also meant I didn't want to drink yesterday, as I was having terrible rolling cramps across my stomach. Very usual for me to feel ovulation pain so badly!

Plus, one of my very good friends is pregnant though shes not that happy about it - as it was a "one night without a condom" effort. Im happy for her but so torn. She didnt even want to get pregnant again and Im still trying for baby number one!
I know her getting pregnant wont mean I can't but life just isn't fair! (Cue any parents telling me life isn't meant to be fair Grin)

So, looks like I'll be jumping on the November bus shortly. I'll hang around here and console myself in your lucky BfPs for the next week or so first!

Now Im off to catch up with everyone's news!

charleslingus · 29/09/2013 16:41

Sorry you're having a frustrating time jaykay, but at least Thursday would be prime fertile time if you did ov yesterday so don't lose hope!

I ov'd early one cycle and af was earlier too, so watch out for a shorter cycle. At least if you don't get your bfp the chance to try again should come round quicker. Hopefully you will though, your still in with a good chance!

charleslingus · 29/09/2013 16:42

«You're» stupid autocorrect.

CleverOl10 · 29/09/2013 16:54

Was a bit silly today and did an early hpt. It was a BFN but I'm still 3-4 days before my AF is due. Think it was because it is first month ttc and just overly optimistic! I have more signs for AF than PG so wasn't really expecting anything. Will be very good now and wait for AF to come (due Wed) and hide all HPTs til after then!

Nulanoo, in terms of cramps, I've had both sorts of thing you describe, but then in my view its probably just AF so can't really help!

jaykay987 · 29/09/2013 17:01

Thanks Charles. Do you think? I as worried three days early wasn't very good timing?

I feel better after my rant anyways Smile
FX Im still in with a chance then. You're right, last month I had a 34 day cycle, if I did ovulation cd13, then this cycle should be much much shorter.

FX.

Nulaloo - I have different types of cramps. Yesterday I had what I can only describe as waves of cramps across my belly. I was doubled up in pain. Odd as when I ovulate the pain is usually much much milder. Normally a dull ache. With infrequent stabbing pains. For me AF cramps are across my back and are like a really uncomfortable hug!

Sorry clever. FX you're just testing too early.

charleslingus · 29/09/2013 17:24

jaykay I read recently that 3 days before ov, till ov are the most important of all days, it gives sperm time to get to where they need to go and they can live there firmly in the right place till the egg pops out.

my app gives days either side of that too but guessing it's in case ov isn't exactly when it should be, so you are in the optimum zone at least.

Rants are great anyway, glad you're feeling better!

RaRaZ · 29/09/2013 17:36

I've read that too Jaykay so try to stay positive. According to my fertility accupuncturist, some sperm live for 10 days and she's seen people who've got pg from intercourse only a week before ov. Fingers crossed!

RaRaZ · 29/09/2013 17:43

Would anyone mind giving me their opinion on my chart? I didn't think I'd ovulated, but FF thinks I did and I've just realised I had a few weird temps earlier in the month due to night shifts etc, which I've now discounted.

According to Ovufriend (signed up there for a second opinion lol), one of these should work...

And this is the FF one:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/46c83b

So what do you think? Did I ovulate? Thanks in advance.

jaykay987 · 29/09/2013 17:51

I can have a look if you can make them links! (Sorry - only on my phone)
