Well I thought I'd get the ball rolling and start up the October bus, there's plenty of and on board and extra comfy seats for relaxing into those BFP's

Hi all, my bfp was due 2nd October but sadly I was caught by the witch. But as my cycles are now 27/28 days Id like to stay on the bus please

Feeling more hopeful this month as we are managing to dtd on the right days. My OPK tests say I am at Peak now and we dtd last night and 2 nights ago too so I'll be trying every day till I get a negative opk now.

Btw I was taking the pregnacare tablets and they turn you symptom crazy! Metalic taste, sore boobs, vivid dream etc

Just thought id share that although they are great for pregnancy prep.

Good luck to everyone on the bus and congratulations to those that got their bfp :)

So guys, AF arrived almost 3 days late, after weird spotting for 4 days. Sigh. This is it for this cycle :) Hoping for a better one next!

I'm now going to a mini beer festival tomorrow so, my resolve has weakened and I'll be testing tomorrow morning. It'll be one day early that's ok right?

babymama, what everyone else said re 12-36 hrs later, though keep in mind that sometimes you can get a +opk and not actually ovulate, then get another surge a few days later. If you're regular like clockwork, though, it's not likely for that to happen.

The only way to know how long after the +opk you actually ovulate would be to track your bbt as well. Though, if you keep an eye on cervical mucus and you notice it all but dries up, that another good indication ovulation has happened the previous day or thereabouts.

Hey quick question before I start catching up on the last few days.
AF arrived wednesday, it's now Friday and it's gone- like properly gone. Does this mean I have a smaller cycle? I've always had short periods but not this short.

Hi Babymama: I use you use 'normal' (ie not digital) OPKs from what you've said? I don't know much about them, but I think you ovulate 12-36 hours after the positive appears - different women are different. Some even ovulate on the day of the positive - depends how long your LH surge is. I should think dtd on the next three days will be fine though!

Hi ladies, looking for some advice.

This is cycle 2 and thought if I'd try the opk's this month. I have a 28 day cycle, regular as clockwork so presumed id ov on day 14 (currently day 10). I tested this afternoon and have a positive opk, does this mean I'm ovulating today or it's going to happen tomorrow etc??

I got a negative yesterday and a very definite positive today. If I DTD for the next 3 days do you think I'll have done enough or do you recommend to keep testing and DTD until I get negative opk's?

This is all so confusing! Who would have thought something so natural would be so complicated!

However, this month, symptoms have started arriving, so O might be a few days earlier than I'm expecting it to!

LH when coming off the pill, once you've ovulated you should get AF. That is unless you've conceived, in which case you won't get AF - so yes it is possible to get pg after the pill without ever having AF!

That said, there really is no rhyme or reason to your body's behaviour as it takes over production of hormones, which stops while the pill is providing them artificially. I thought I had ovulated last month - I got a +OPK - but all I got was a couple of days of very light spotting at 8/9 dpo. All the OPK detects is a LH surge, which usually means an egg is about to be released. But if my body still wasn't ready it may have tried and failed to ovulate (hence the LH surge and +OPK).

Or I may have ovulated, but perhaps the womb lining wasn't thick enough hence spotting at 8 dpo - maybe a very light period (and 8-day luteal phase, not long enough to support pg).

I didn't use opks this month so I'm assuming I ovulated based on symptoms (mostly EWCM, spots, sore boobs etc). I'm counting dpo from then so hopefully I'll either get BFP or AF over the next week. But who knows!

Incidentally, my body started to sort itself out after I started taking pregnacare conception - started getting loads of hormone symptoms and thought I was pg! Nope.

Sorry for the essay, hope it was useful LH and anyone else coming off the pill!

An evap line shows up when the test is actually drying, and it will have absolutely no colour in it from the dye. A faint positive may look grey in an IC, but a positive will have the colour of the dye if you can get a good enough look. FRs are good, even a very faint positive will look pink. If your faint line looks like it has a tinge of the dye colour and is in the right location on the stick, it's a good bet it's not an evaporation line.
