Great news Miss

Fingers cross for more BFPs!

I'm pretty much going to be truly alone for my first cycle. Dh is going to be away for the first ten days, back just in time for egg collection.
I won't lie. I'm pretty scared that I'm going to be going on my own for the teaching bit re medication, I'm a worrier and really wanted someone with me to help in case I can't take it all in. Then be with me for the first injections.
I'm scared. What if I get OHSS? And I will have ds to loom after too. Not good.

I will have to come on here for back up.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/09/2013 20:42

Still lovely, if, and only if you are going to get OHSS, it won't be until after egg collection. It's no fun doing it on your own. Have you anyone nearby?

nobeer · 05/09/2013 20:47

Still when are you starting? I had to do the injections on my own most of the time because DP works away in the week. I did skype him on the first night and made him watch because I was nervous! You'll be nervous, but that's normal, just take a few deep breaths and go for it. Do you have to inject for your diabetes? Because I think they're similar kind of needles. OHSS is fairly rare so try not to worry about the what ifs too much. Just concentrate on one stage at a time, and try to think of each stage as a step closer to getting the baby you want. If I were you, I'd confide in some RL friends too so you feel less alone.

And of course we're here if you need us too! It's funny, when you start talking about IVF you find out that all sorts of people you know have been through it and you had no idea.

still I want to kick your DH up the arse and do your injections for you.

Hello all!! Smile

Im still here. Limping about.

We need some excitement on here!!

What have you all had for tea?

I've had a chicken breast smothered in harissa paste, salad with rocket, peppers and avocado and new poatoes.

Grin was yummy x

nobeer · 05/09/2013 21:05

That's sounds delicious tame! I had mozarella and tomato salad. And a bit of flapjack for pud.

I need to get back into cooking loads at the weekend and freezing it for the week.

October.
I'm not scared of the actual injection part (used to it) more that I will panic and do it wrong - too much or not enough or something. Bit nerve wracking really.

I'm not telling anyone irl, I'd rather people didn't know. I think having to tell people it hasn't worked must be really hard and I just don't want it.
I'm hoping all appointments will be within school hours so ds will be sorted.

tametortie · 05/09/2013 21:11

I totally sympathise with the costa lady. I have mega delicate bowels Blush

resipsa · 05/09/2013 21:26

Which is the Costa thread? I keep reading about it but not reading it cause I can't find it!

Fabuluce · 05/09/2013 21:59

Which costa one - there's loads!!

We had tuna, spring onion, red pepper, sweet corn and olive salad with rocket and baked sweet potato - not very exciting but quite yummy and lovely for a last dinner out in the garden if we're to believe the weather reports...

Llw2 · 05/09/2013 22:13

Brook, aghhhhh! Despite the AF from hell I had my scan today and i haven't bled enough so have to go back tomorrow, when will these bloody injections start??? Did you have the same?

nobeer · 05/09/2013 22:13

If your clinic's like mine they write everything out very clearly in a little booklet, so it's hard to do it wrong. They also did blood tests and scans, so they'll be keeping an eye on everything and will adjust the doses if necessary.

fab I love sweet potatoes. Sounds lovely.

OP posts:
resipsa · 05/09/2013 22:27

Fab a good Anzac is good for morning tea as they might say in Oz; elevenses here. It's oats, butter, sugar, coconut and golden syrup. Foolproof!

Fabuluce · 05/09/2013 22:44

Lol - isn't that also called smoko? Or is that afternoon tea time?

Fabuluce · 06/09/2013 07:10

Ps Nobeer - I clearly got my biccies confused - I love an Anzac - nom nom!!

nobeer · 06/09/2013 08:37

Ohh res that's sounds like a coconutty flapjack! I'll try it sometime.

Anzac biscuits are like Hobnobs!

I read through the paperwork for the FET and its a long process with so much medication. Feel so down. Why can't I just be normal and have a baby the normal way? Is it too much to ask?

Llw2 · 06/09/2013 09:35

Twinkle I think we have all felt like that at some point, I know I definitely have but my latest philosophy is that it happens to those most able to deal with it, strong ladies with great partners. Chin up chick we'll get through it together x

twinklestar2 · 06/09/2013 10:19

Thx llw that's a good way to look at it

eurochick · 06/09/2013 11:09

Morning all! I'm still reading and cheering you all on, but probably won't post all that much on here while I am between cycles.

still could you put it back a month so that your husband will be around while you are stimming?

IWantOneNow · 06/09/2013 11:23

Twinks im sure we do all feel like that at certain times, but i love your way of looking at it / dealing with it Llw, that really helps to make me feel better about the process we are all going through Smile x

nobeer · 06/09/2013 12:23

I know twinks, it's a Long drawn out process. What meds do you have to take and when? I had to go on the pill, then some HRT tablets and crinone. I've got an appointment next week so I'm going to ask if I have to do anything differently for next time.

OP posts:
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 06/09/2013 12:58

Why so much medication twink? I am doing a FET in my natural cycle, with just a trigger. I am currently loving the hormone-free status (and the use of the veg drawer in the fridge) after full IVF earlier this summer.

The WHY question I can sympathise with. Two diffed colleagues do make some working-days tough. But I can look at the pic of my sort of positive test from the IVF-chem diffment without crying now result. And that within a month. But today it's a year ago we went for our first scan and got the news that at 6+4 the embryo was lagging behind and I would most likely miscarry which I duly did at 7+4.

Hurrah for miss, keeping stuff crossed for Monday!

Loving the biscuit-chat.

Apologies for my absence, work is busy, I've been off hormones and been socialising and drinking like a fish all week. First scan on Sunday.

nobeer · 06/09/2013 12:59

llw I like your philosophy! I think I'll try to repeat that to myself as much as possible Smile
