Congratulations Hopecat. sorry can't think of anything witty or different to what has been said already but sending lots of good wishes anyway

muminamini · 27/06/2006 20:31

Hello

I am new to MN today waves
Dh and I have been trying for 4 months now and I am starting to get v frustrated so it will be nice to share with you all. I know 4 months is probably not long at all (took us 3 months with our first) but as the months pass you start thinking all kinds of things as to why you haven't got pregnant yet!

I have convinced myself that the consultant has done some kind of damage to me whilst I had an emergency csec with my DS. I have been telling DH that I am not thinking too much about getting pregnant - who am I kidding?? It s practically my every waking thought.

I am supposedly ovulating at present so lots of hows your father for me.

Been laughing at all the tips re legs in air and wiggling etc - will have to try it.

Good luck to everyone....

Can I ask how long you guys leave it before you test (the money I've spent on PG tests in the past 4 months is ridiculous!!! I haven't got the patience to wait till a week after I'm due but I do get the feeling I am literally throwing money down the loo!)

muminamini · 27/06/2006 20:32

Oh and I nearly forgot - Congratulations Hopecat

xx

Sexonlegs · 27/06/2006 20:37

Hi muminamini - what a great name! Hard to type though having had half a glass of red wine!
It is v frustrating isn't it. I know there are lots of ladies out there who take years to conceive, and I can totally appreciate how maddening that is.
Me and dh conceived dd after 1 month of trying, and now are in our 4th month of trying fornumber 2. You do start to wonder why it isn't happening so quick this time around.
Fingers crossed.

Hopecat · 27/06/2006 20:39

Thanks so much everyone! And welcome new people.

I can honestly say that without you lot these last months would have been a lot harder to bear - fantastic support on this thread. (tears well up in Oscar-accepting fashion).

I mustn't count my chickens as it's very early days, but nothing can take away the floaty feeling I've got right now.

Except my hormones which keep making me cry

ShowOfHands · 27/06/2006 20:39

Hello and welcome muminamini!

RE waiting to test, I think you'll find that very few people ttc have the willpower to wait until they are even due. I never test. Solely because I couldn't bear the disappointment. Luckily, my cycle's regular so if I was ever late it would be obvious and then I might think about testing. It would have to be at least a couple of weeks late though.

The very best of luck to you and welcome to MN!

Beccy1974 · 27/06/2006 20:42

muminamini · 27/06/2006 21:27

Thanks SOH and Becky for the advice re tests!
I hadn't read the whole thread before my first post but I have now and I can't tell you how nice it feels to read about you all desperatley trying to stop yourselves from testing - It's awful - like a complete obsession so it's nice to know that I'm not the only OCD Pregnancy tester out there!!!

Glad you seem to like BB too - but my DH has got the blinkin footie on so no BB for me tonight - bah!
Not to worry he made it up to me by getting me a bar of Galaxy in half time and asking me if I was up for an early night - I've also had the time to read up on here, I think it will be nice to have some support this month as it has been starting to really get me down as the months pass and AF arrives.

I am on CD14 today - can I ask a really stupid question - I've been wracking my brains and I know it will be something simple - what does Bd stand for?? lol
Sorry - like I say I am new to all this.

Looking forward to seeing some more nice BFP's very soon. I work as a receptionist at a GP surgery and Thursday am is Ante Natal clinic - it's killing me every week to sit there and smile and listen to all the complaining over being pregnant. I just want to jump up and tell them how lucky they are!! lol - even though I know that when the time comes I will probably be moaning like them too!

Anyway - enough for now - I can see that this MN lark can become quite addictive!
x

Sexonlegs · 27/06/2006 22:08

bd = baby dancing or shagging if you want it in crude language!
So, good luck with the bdíng, and enjoy the Galaxy bar - lucky bugger! DH dd let me watch BB though and flicked to the footie during ad breaks, so I cannot complain.
Anyway, off to bed, or is that off to bd!!
Good luck all, and sweet dreams lovely Hopecat.
xx

Hopecat · 27/06/2006 22:17

Thanks for calling me lovely SOL

Am over the flippin' moon.
Going to bed now to dream of cots & buggies

Welcome to MN muminamini. Everyone obsesses about testing: perfectly normal, healthy behaviour.

Piffle · 27/06/2006 22:21

And I though doggy was a no no when ttc
HmmMmmmmm

Hopecat · 27/06/2006 22:22

TMI alert - I've got quite a low cervix, so it's good for us.

MUST go to bed.

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 08:26

Sorry to crash but I wondered if anyone has an email address or has heard from GemmaSeaScout, I think she comes on the TTC threads as well as our chat thread, she hasn't been about for a couple of weeks and we are starting to worry now. So if anyone knows she is OK would you let us know please?

Beccy1974 · 28/06/2006 08:33

last i read she was going to test on the saturday, about mid june like you say, don't remember seeing anything since. she'd been poorly before hadn't she - or maybe she's on hols. fingers crossed

muminamini · 28/06/2006 08:37

Ahhhhh Babydancing!!!!!
Lol - I knew it was obviously a reference to sex but could not work out for the life of me what it stood for!

DH and I did some Bd'ing last night so we've managed it on day 9,12, 13 and 14 so far.... after reading everyones posts I am panicking that we should of started earlier this month! Not really possible as away staying at friends last week and our son was sleeping in same room as us .

Last night DH wondered what the hell I was doing wiggling my legs in the air afterwards (in homage to Hopecat!)He was killing himself laughing and joined in for good measure.

Managed to catch the last half of BB before I went to bed - shouldn't watch it as I'm sure my blood pressure rises watching it - DH says I rant at the TV as well....god I wish Richard was getting evicted soon!

Anyway - have a lovely day everyone and lots of 'this is the month'posative thoughts to everyone
x

Beccy1974 · 28/06/2006 08:42

god Richard is FOUL FOUL. he's so patronising.

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 09:10

OK thanks Becky, that is the last we have heard from her as well. Hope everything is OK.

decafgirl · 28/06/2006 12:09

Hopecat, if you had 4 there'd be enough for a few of us to babysit regularly and live vicariously (sp?) through you!

....Or you could put them on e-bay!

Hopecat · 28/06/2006 16:47

Have been reading Junior Baby & Pregnancy Magazine (how fun is that?), & twins is a daunting prospect. You are a wicked woman DCG

Am exhausted.

Don't think anyone else has joined the march antenatal thread yet, so I'm in limbo at the mo. Not that I'm complaining, obviously!

Hope you're all leg-wiggling and drinking your grapefruit juice. Wouldn't it be great it you all got BFPs!

Excuse the ranting. Hormones, probably.

wright4845 · 28/06/2006 18:55

On day 39 and still no AF. I'm so fed up. just want to get going on next cycle.Sore boobs and cramping been and gone and come back again and gone but no AF. I know they say this can happen as only came of pill end of april but its driving me mad. Sorry I'm ranting, just frustrated.

Beccy1974 · 28/06/2006 18:57

it's the coming and going isn't it... makes it even worse

becky

Sexonlegs · 28/06/2006 19:18

Hi there. Wrighty, sorry you are having such a frustrating time of it all. Hang on in there.
How is everyone else doing?
I am on CD 9 today so should probably get on with it. Feeling a little lack lustre about the whole thing I have to say - so tired all the time! That attitude aint going to make a baby though is it!?
Hey ho.
Love to all

wright4845 · 28/06/2006 19:20

Feel like crying all the time and eating like a hors but suppose that's a good PMT sign isn't it? Cried in school yesterday because person taking my class next year started moving stuff into my room but I managed to hide in cupbaord til i'd got over it. Kids must think i'm a nutter. Gonna run a bath later. Thanks for the advice.

coggy · 28/06/2006 19:29

When did you last test Wrighty?

Doggy seems to be favoured by many BFPers!!

A bit of research in my months of MN!!!
