Bunnygirlie · 18/06/2013 08:30

Come and join us elderly TTCers on the Sofa of Pity (SoP), Rug of Rage (RoR), the Pouffe of Possibility (PoP) or the Chaise Lounge of Limbo (CLoL) whilst trying to avoid the BubbleBath of Gloom(BoG)!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

Sid my temps usually stay high until a day or two after AF has started then drop drastically but I know it's more common for the temp to drop below the coverline before AF actually arrives. This has only happened to me once or twice! Sorry that's not very helpful! Are you tempted to PIMP at all? We'll be 10dpo tomorrow?!
Oh and just say to Mr Sid 'would you like a naice hamwidge for lunch tomorrow?!' Smile

BlindKitty · 24/06/2013 22:15

boom it's other thread I go to I can't help it, they're nice!!!!

bunny yes, I swear the world is forcing us to look at their baby bumps!!!!

charming I know what you mean, I still haven't plucked up the courage to see my pregnant friend after she announced her pregnancy on FB, despite her numerous requests to see me Sad

happylass · 24/06/2013 22:15

Bunny this is the hamwidge one and here is the rumers thread by the same OP. Be warned you may need to write off the next hour or so!

Aquarius1 · 24/06/2013 22:19

Oh my... Think I pulled a muscle laughing at that rumers thread! And hamwidges??? Hilarious. Just what I need for a Monday night Grin

barkingtreefrog · 24/06/2013 22:37

OK, so I've blantantly not shut the laptop down but DP has gone across the road for beers at a mate's house (with my blessing, said mate went for a meal with one of my recently single mates on Sunday and I need gossip!!!) so he'll wake me up when he gets in anyway...

More importantly, I'm sat here laughing hysterically with tears streaming down my face. The Rumers.... WTF?!!??!

IamKuma · 24/06/2013 22:38

Noooo bunny try to resist.... Seriously it was like being sucked into a black hole; you need to keep reading because it seems impossible that the post could actually be real!

sid I don't know enough about temping to provide any useful feedback, but thinking lots of positive thoughts for you!

Bunnygirlie · 24/06/2013 22:47

Omg!!! Had to stop reading the rumours one as it made me want to stab myself in the eyes!!!

OP posts:
Foodylicious · 24/06/2013 22:51

Heard a good one today for people who bring your mood down, anyone else heard of the term..

'mood hoovers'

like it a lot and am going to make an effort to use it in conversation twice a week and see if it catches on Grin

Foodylicious · 24/06/2013 23:17

just read the hamwich and rumours threads, tee hee

Foodylicious · 24/06/2013 23:22

muffwidge!

Tallyra · 24/06/2013 23:37

I never seem to get enough time to actually read and reply to things much at the moment.

Can't remember who asked, but my next appt is on 4th July, for the 'close inspection' of my inner parts. still not entirely sure what its called or whether I'll be put under for it or even recovery time and how soon we can dtd. hoping to call tomorrow and get a bit more info. I really want to read the rumer thread. but is late and my phone is dying Sad

Frogcatcher · 24/06/2013 23:45

Hey berries! I'm still lurking as your chats are waaaay more interesting than the pg thread I'm on & the grads are mostly about to pop so I don't really understand what they are talking about a lot of the time. I like to remain in blissful ignorance. Grin

I'm now officially unemployed, over 36 & pg which I think qualifies me for a channel 5 documentary right?!

I've got off lightly on the sickness front with only mild nausea & killer tiredness but those symptoms have disappeared in the last couple of days (at 11 wks) so have now gone into a panic & booked a private scan for tmrw. I had one at 8 wks & it was amazing. No sign of my appt for my Nhs one - Nhs care once you're diffed does not seem any better than when you're TTC I'm afraid folks. I had my first midwife appt last wk & she seemed surprised when I said I'd been taking folic acid for 8 months - she was obviously used to instadiffers!

Oh & fwiw I upgraded to FF VIP for 3 months i think the month I got diffed. Sod's law worked for me.

All FX for you all & hope to see in the grads soon. It must be time for a BFP!

MrsB00Mbastic · 25/06/2013 06:52

Oh Frog nice to see you! Glad to hear we're so much more exciting than the grads Grin well we have a lot of non-pregnant time on our hands, don't have nurseries to colour-scheme or baby clothes to wash Wink

your dating scan should be between 11 and 13+6 weeks if you want the nuchal scan (Downs' screening) so if it's not arrived I'd phone the scan dept at the hospital and check you've been referred, have seen many a case of general ineptitude causing people to miss scans! Sorry all. This is why I'm not allowed to get PG, can you imagine the nightmare I'd be on the grads thread!

Glad to hear you've got a private one booked though frog, although Angry that you've had to do it. Actually, thinking about it, if they haven't booked your (free) scan you could probably claim the private one back from the NHS as you're entitled to screening and they should sort it out! Once heard of a woman who employed a private midwife for a homebirth and claimed the whole £4000 back from the NHS because they wouldn't send her a homebirth midwife. Hope everything's fine, this is about the time those symptoms are supposed to disappear anyway Smile x

Good to see I'm not the only one who wasted a significant portion of my life yesterday with the Widge threads!

This received yesterday from instadiffer friend after I sent congrats on her third pg: 'DH was booked in for the snip but we moved and he forgot his appointment then one little swimmer slipped the net' gaaaaah. Probably TMI to send to someone who's struggling...!

I need brekkie but DH has eaten all the food. It's a toss-up between a brown banana or a packet of Fox's crunch creams...

MrsB00Mbastic · 25/06/2013 06:54

Ps foody - mood hoovers - brilliant!

Tally oh of course, I remember now. Hope you get more info today, hard to prepare for something when you don't know what it involves!

Thundercatsarego · 25/06/2013 07:02

Hi all,

Just bobbing in to say hello. No news here - no appointments booked, no symptoms to spot (cd 9) no traumas happening. Should be good but is actually just boring!

boom your friend is a mood Hoover with that message. Whizz the banana up with milk and ice and drink it with the biccies?

Hiya frog, good to see you. Hope all goes well in the scan.

That rumers thread is amazing. Was hooting reading it but can't believe the OP is for real. She seems so earnest though...?

barkingtreefrog · 25/06/2013 07:15

frog in this house we call such people a 'fun sponge' Grin .

Frogcatcher · 25/06/2013 07:51

boom thanks for the advice. Midwife said to contact her on weds if I hadn't heard anything as yes, obviously I need to be seen by 13+6. Basic private one near me is a bargain at £60 anyway.

barking yep I will admit to being a fun sponge. I don't get much now what with being stone cold sober, nice foods being banned, bedtime at 10pm & too tired for nights out. You will all know this soon enough! I promise never to moan about having a DC though as I know that it's not an easy road for many to get there. Good luck all & I'm back to lurking now once I've wasted time I should be doing my cv on hilarious MN threads!.

MrsB00Mbastic · 25/06/2013 08:26

£60 is a bargain frog! Good luck getting your proper one too. Hope we can all join you being boring and cheggers soon (although I think barking meant foody - fun sponge being an alternative to 'mood hoover' as opposed to a word for the updiffed!)

Bunnygirlie · 25/06/2013 08:34

Mood Hoover and fun sponge - hilarious! Unfortunately I can be both these quite often at the mo!

Hey frog glad all ok and hope scan goes well! Any grads had theirs yet? They must be due any day!!!!

So do you think we are so into reading the weird threads because this one is so quiet now?!?

OP posts:
MrsB00Mbastic · 25/06/2013 08:58

bunny I think the TTC thing seems to go in waves - we all go through lots of FC appointments and BFP news and then there seem to be long patches where we're all just....waiting....and waiting...and...

Let's hope July is going to be a month of action! Anyone due to pimp soon?

Maybe we should go on a berry recruitment drive!

IamKuma · 25/06/2013 10:53

CD9 here so will be having another go with the OPKs from tomorrow and generally trying to DTD lots.... I'm back home tonight, but DH has been away too and I think arrives back late, I may have to stay up and have a welcome home party Wink

Recruiting berries seems a bit of a weird concept, I don't want to wish my struggles on anybody else, plus at the ripe old age of 38, 99.99% of my friends already have kids anyway. I have a friend possible new recruit who is going to start TTC after her wedding next month; I've done my very best not to be negative about her current plans which involve getting instadiffed, although I might have told her to start now because it probably won't happen immediately. I may need to brace myself for a severe case of Gluckschmertz if she does get upduffed right away.... sigh, I feel bad that I feel like that Confused.

Foodylicious · 25/06/2013 10:56

barking something about fun sponge just sounds wrong! but so very apt too!
frog Hiiiiii! glad all is good with you

boom was thinking about you nearing the end of the study/placement/job nightmare. I can remember sooo looking forward to qualifying (am MH nurse)and just having to go to work...no study....no placement...no ridiculious 8-9 shifts between them both in a seven day week, just going from early at work to late on placement etc.

Although starting a new job was a bit nerve wrecking it was ace, after 3 years slogging yout guts out you get a bit of your life back...(at least until they are short at work and stay late, pick up over-time or are on seemingly endless nights tee hee!)

Really hope there are jobs near you out soon!!! have you applied for any yet??

thunder I know what you mean, its somehow better when there is something to stress over, at least I feel like I am doing something then. We are waiting until we are on holiday/after holiday before trying again, this waiting around just seems so pointless, but daren't try before as I would be awful if magically got pg and was soo far from home that early on.

all berries anyone for Tennis?? - could not think of another sentence in which I would use Tennis

Going to make a concerted effort not to be my own mood hoover today, wish me luck!
oh and i sanded most of the ceiling yesterday, off to finish that, then wash it and on with the priming, will have arms of steel by the time I finish! phwarrrr!

Foodylicious · 25/06/2013 11:04

hugs kuma totally know what you mean! within 12 months 9 people I know had babies, also my sister and sister in law had babies a few days apart in Feb, another sister in law is due in Nov, a friend last week and one due any day.
Honestly have wished the best for them all before, during and after but GOD its SOOOO Confused & Hmm with lots of Envy, Sad & Smile, Shock all at once.

Oh and have fun with welcome home party Blush

Foodylicious · 25/06/2013 11:10

As if FB is not full of friends babies enough, friends daughters are having them too!!!

Foodylicious · 25/06/2013 11:12

Anyone else on the CLoL at the moment??, have dragged myself off the SoP for today at least
