NokklingtonStStation, I couldn't find a new thread so I made this one, cock. Hope I did the right thing

OP posts:

Well done expat! 9 eggs is great! It'd take me 9 rounds to get the same.

I felt exactly the same after EC. Being put into stirrups and then knocked out is pretty traumatic. I had flashbacks for a few days. I can't believe I have signed up to go through it all again.

drizz and I are old friends from another thread. Welcome to the mentalists egg buddies thread!

karbea I think milk is a particularly big thing at ARGC. It didn't get a mention at either of my clinics. I'm lactose intolerant anyway, so it wouldn't be possible for me anyway.

I hope everything goes well at the scan tomorrow!

wish how irritating about the wasted trip for mock transfer, but good news about the PCOS. When I had my first scans for this process in 2011, both ovaries were showing as polycystic. Then they were described as multicycstic. 6 months ago they were showing up completely normal on scans.

tame that was what I was like downregging - depressed and anxious. I was also working my way down the list of side-effects, ticking them off. I ended up with pretty much everything apart from the most common one-headaches!

PS - you need to move yourself on your own list. Maybe after tomorrow's blood test?

MotorcycleMama · 05/06/2013 23:13

Wow! It's pretty hard to keep up with what's going on here. Maybe it is just my hormonally challenged concentration, but I am struggling. So, please forgive the lack of personals, and accept my general good wishes to all.
I'm getting excited watching how it is all unfolding for us current cyclers mejust wish juicy nook drizzle life and expat.
AFM I seem to be relatively unscathed by the downregging (though DH might beg to differ) aside from vivid dreams/nightmares. Now scared that I can't have received an adequate dose, but scan on Monday should show if my womb lining has thinned as it should. If the amount I am bleeding is anything to go by, there shouldn't be any womb lining left!
I'm generally being very healthy and have reduced alcohol to a minimum (that is, the minimum needed to keep me sane). Can I ask if any of the current cyclers are enjoying the odd glass or two, or are you all being super-virtuous?
Can't wait to hear how tomorrow goes for tame and expat. Good luck!

mejust · 06/06/2013 08:31

hello motor glad you have escaped side effects, well im sure if i could id have the odd glass to wind down but i cant with my tablets anyway.a glass or two wont hurt while down regging.

i feel exhausted and drained and i ache everywhere not sure if i doing to much or just a side effect but iv been like this the past few days.

tam any news yet?

Massive cuddle Expat. I totally understand how you must be feeling but you never know - those that have fertilised might be amazing embryos and one might be just the little fighter you need. X

mejust · 06/06/2013 09:13

hang in there expat you must stay positive, have they said before hand what day transfer they were looking at? you could have really good quality embryos.keeping everything crossed for you x

NookNook · 06/06/2013 09:22

That must have been a difficult phone call Expat but it really is quality NOT quantity! Hang in there.

NookNook · 06/06/2013 09:29

Motorcycle I know what you mean about the bleeding - I was thinking mine would never stop! I am being rather virtuous but I rarely drink in normal real life so it was one thing that I could do easily!

I've just started on Whey drinks. I've got a strawberry one which is actually nicer than I thought it would be...20g of protein in one serving. With that and all the other protein rich stuff I'm consuming I think I'm now 99% protein.

Expat, I can't deny I'm disappointed for you, too, but it simply is the truth when people say it only takes one. How many stories have we heard of women producing sixteen eggs and 'only' three are fertilised? Women get babies from single embryo transfers at day three - lots and lots of women. Take courage, don't despair and do NOT listen to the demons in your head xx

Big hugs to those of you feeling rotten about downregging and IVF drugs in general. Mejust, you are doing brilliantly - one step at a time, eh?

Lovely, lovely Tortie, I am roaring you on here x

There are so many of us on here now, it's great to see all the support. I know I've been daft and sweary in my posts of late but it's just my way of coping when life gets heavy. This week has been difficult for me - not in terms of drugs or demons - just the minutiae of readying to go away; I fucking hate it. I'm such a home bird and don't relish the whole touristy shit, but I will have to perk up because this isn't just an IVF trip for th'usband, it's a well-earned holiday.

Better go and sort out some currency and insurance (sigh)....

JuicySteak · 06/06/2013 10:54

A bit of lovely news: do you remember the first two women recently to go to ReproG (separately) from the FF forum I'm cycling on? One came back pregnant and one didn't? Well, the non-diffed went back at the weekend for her FET on the 4th and both her frosties thawed perfectly and she now has two AA 5-day blastos on board!

MotorcycleMama · 06/06/2013 11:14

Brilliant juicy. I reckon that optimism is the way forward! I've refused to allow myself to be optimistic or to dream so far as I fear the crushing disappointment if it all fails. I've turned this around and reckon that there's plenty of time for being depressed and disappointed if it doesn't work, and I might as well be positive now, as I think it helps dealing with the stress of it all. You're in good health, why shouldn't you succeed? The odds for success with donor IVF are pretty high (my clinic is 53% for recipients) and your clinic guarantees 2 blastos if I understand that right. You couldn't be in a better position to succeed.
Really hope you've decided to take your laptop with you to Brno as I (well, all of us) will be dying to hear how you get on.

buzzybee123 · 06/06/2013 12:51

expat I think its dangerous and reckless for any clinic to making promises and guarantees, they are playing with peoples dreams to become parents, they are not gods.

it does only take one egg and people do get pregnant on day 3 transfer, thats all you need to concentrate on Smile

tortie thinking of you my lovely

Good for you expat. You are at one of the most nerve-wracking parts of the whole process, so I should think you needed it. Fingers crossed that your eggs progress really well. Keep us posted.
If it were my eggs that were being used, I would probably be more paranoid about the odd glass of wine, but as I will be using someone else's, I just hope they are being sensible.
I can't imagine that anybody is careless in this process - it costs too much on every level!

Karbea · 06/06/2013 15:50

Expat, I cant really say more than the others have said but ((hugs)) and it really does only take one! Are they planning to ET on day three now? I was quite upset about this last time as everyone else was going to day 5 (or 6) blasts. But remember they are much better off in their natural environment.

AFM :
Scan went well today, at least 7 one side at least 3 the other, much better than last time :)
Cd56 high so I had to have intralipids they are much quicker than IVIG, I had loads of food and didn't get through much of it :(

I had to wait around for ages so went to Primark and got some new leggings as soon i'll not fit in my jeans and need the elasticated tummy!

Tonight I've got 300 fostimon, and first clexane wooo!!! Back for 730 bloods tmr.

JuicySteak · 06/06/2013 17:19

Motor & Expat, thank you so much for taking the time to encourage me. Your attitude is bang-on, Motor: There is plenty of time to be dismayed when if all this ends unhappily; now is the time to dream and pray Smile

Karbea, excellent news on the follies.

I'm deffo taking the laptop and have bought some DVDs to take with us for those inevitable periods of boredom in the hotel. I've had an email from the clinic today:

"I believe you are very excited about your donor´s first scan. She is doing fine, her reaction seems very good and promising. Doctor has scheduled her second u/s scan on Monday 10th June, so on Monday I will be able to finally confirm the exact dates! So far we expect the eggs retrieval on Wed 12th June." Smile

I've had a fabulous day shopping: I bought another cute dress and I went a bit nuts and bought one of those delicate, dangly earrings with a chain leading to a cuff at the top of the ear. Am I too old for this kind of accessorising? Who cares? I'm off on me hols...! Smile

JuicySteak · 06/06/2013 17:26

Tortie, really hoping you had the best news today. Are you okay? xx

I was looking at some dresses today, but put them back, they will after all not fit me for very long as i'll be pregnant soon ;)

expat I will have my fingers firmly crossed till then!

mejust · 06/06/2013 17:50
