Sorry, NookNook, I don't have any downregging experience.

Thanks, ladies, for your encouragement. I know I come across as overreacting, but honestly, had this woman got knocked-up at ReproG she wouldn't even have made herself known. She is nowhere to be found on FF and so didn't share her journey leading up to IVF or whilst cycling. Fair enough, just don't come whining to us who are actually slap-bang in the middle of it. You know what? I reckon IVF clinics everywhere have their cock-ups and, ultimately, the truth is that embryologists in their limited powers are constantly putting non-viable embryos back into women.

The embryo monitoring, Fabuluce, is a terrific scientific advance for analysing embryos through an embryoscope. It is done by time-lapse video sequencing and means that the embryos do not have to be brought out of their 'incubator' each day for analysis thereby reducing environmental decay. There's more about it here It costs £750 at CARE Manchester and I don't know who else in the UK has the embryoscope. I am paying 500 euros at ReproGenesis.

Twinkle, if we got the chance to freeze one embryo and transfer three then that is what we will do (multiple transfers, oddly, do not increase the chance of twins or triplets but it does increase the chances of a single implantation, obvs). We are guaranteed two 5-day blastos at transfer but we would be thrilled to have a frostie, too, as we won't be cycling again.

Right-o, I'm off to the doctor's to twat this hairdresser nurse....

nook iv been drinking decaf and plenty of squash through the day and no bad headaches so far just minor ones that dont last long.

life im on buserelin and use the pen some injections hurt and then some dont one leg hurts more than the other, you seem to have a good out look on it all and im pleased you are taking it all in your stride its a good attitude to have towards it.

i have had mood swings and general feeling of being low in myself then i can be in a great mood for a couple of days, but iv had constant bleeding that is doing my head in as i had period started buserelin on cd2 period stopped and started again after 2 day break.oh and my body feels exhausted in the mornings and have to drag myself out of bed anyone feel like that?

mejust · 05/06/2013 11:10

juicy please dont let one person with a negative experience get you down ,people with a bee in their bonnet always leave negative reviews no matter what its about.that doesnt mean you wont have a good experience at the clinic, not long for you now you must be excited?

buzzybee123 · 05/06/2013 11:17

mejust I felt a bit like that, a bit hazy and unable to concentrate, low in mood and just not myself, drugs are evil things Hmm it will pass though when they get you on the estrogen

Lifeasafish · 05/06/2013 11:20

juicy I don't think yo have been overreacting. I just think you need logical explanations. This is IVF - I don't think anything is overreacting... How can it be? Most of us are pumped full of hormones!

mejust I would have preferred a pen I think. I'll confirm next week when I start using one. I find that if I'm fully relaxed the jabs don't hurt at all. Some do hurt if its pressed down too fast or if I'm tense. My DH did one last week while I was half asleep!

I am hoping my attitude lasts as it is fairly out of character for me. I am a natural born worrier but had intensive therapy last year for it.

NookNook · 05/06/2013 11:31

Yes Life! My womb is a lovely snuggly nursery. Awesome.

The "burn" is just a little sting. Honest!

And yes - absent minded, sleepy, dizzy, nausea. Fun fun fun!

Mejust I've been decaf since the last ivf. I prefer it now. No caffeine highs! I will drink more water as this sems to be the concensus.

Lifeasafish · 05/06/2013 11:32

Side effects, how could I forget... Dreams! I am dreaming a lot and some seriously random stuff. Some nights it feels like i've been locked into a blockbusters. Hmm

. A friend reckons its the hormones, she had the same issue while pregnant.

mejust · 05/06/2013 11:35

buzz nice to know it will pass soon i know its only a few weeks but it seems like forever already and iv only been jabbing 2 weeks

life was it anxiety you had and p attacks? if so they are horrible but glad your doing well now you sound full of reason and upbeat about it all.
when is your EC?

Lifeasafish · 05/06/2013 11:50

mejust yep. Just had a truly nasty set of circumstances last year. I'm still amazed we got through it all.
The panic attacks were paralysing me at one point and the worry was crazy. Eg - it crossed my mind earlier to worry that my bureselin had been mixed up and I was injecting water as my side effects have not been soul destroying. Thats how my mind was working.

Ec - I've no idea! Hold on and i'll have a look...

Right I should start stimming next week Tuesday after my scan. If I am ready the date for ec will be decided on the 22nd June judging by my timetable. This should be after x3 scans.

I take each day as it comes so haven't given anything other than the next injection any thought. It keeps me sane, I'm not sure if it is a good way to be but it stops me from worrying.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/06/2013 11:52

It seems we got to the IVF-point. My fridge is full of drugs Shock. Short background TTC 3yrs, unexplained, one BFP after SO+IUI last August, MC in Sept. So can I come and play here for the next two months, we're doing LP, starting pill tomorrow, downregging from 2weeks tomorrow, stimming in in July. HELP

Baseline scan as I understand it (and I had one and brought the other half with me, and the nurse explained stuff to him) is to check the womble is clean and there are no cysts lurking that might get inflated via stimming.

mejust · 05/06/2013 12:04

life iv got my scan monday but have no idea when they are thinking of EC but have 12 days worth of menopur not looking forward to that twice a day i can tell you ,iv had p attacks but once you know what they are they are easier to deal with and do pass.your right theres normally a trigger to them.

hello lemon

expat let us know how you are today

buzzybee123 · 05/06/2013 12:08

lemon welcome to the mad house, is this on the nhs or private,

I can not believe that it only just lunch time Hmm this feels like the longest and most boring day ever Hmm

mejust · 05/06/2013 12:25

buzz have all your symptoms returned now?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/06/2013 12:40

It is funded, thankfully buzz. And on the dot of year 3 too. I know I am lucky - also they said they'll do SET because of my age, only 34, apparantly still a spring chicken in the madhouse that is fertility-land.

Panic attacks sound nasty, life! Never had them, thankfully. But insane dreams I do, often in the second half of my cycle and the month I was diffed they went completely insane, interrupted only by insomnia. I got quite tired.

What sort of stimming doses are people on? My starting dose for gonal-f is only 150, which sounds low, since I did SO IUI with 100units.

JuicySteak · 05/06/2013 13:02

Okay, so the hairdresser nurse is now hospitalised and unfortunately will be drinking through a straw for the rest of her life.

Me & th'usband are super-excited about an international firework competition being held on the river in Brno on the 12th. I fucking love fireworks and needles so this IVF shit is turning out to be a dream come true.

In other news, last night I modelled my new silk polkadot dress (yes! It fits!) for th'usband and twirled around like a knob Julia Roberts at that polo match in Pretty Woman. Next thing I know I'm being humped from behind (I knew I should've worn knickers) and th'usband has managed to spaff all over the back. I'm off to the dry cleaners Blush

JuicySteak · 05/06/2013 13:04

Welcome, lemondrizzle!

JuicySteak · 05/06/2013 13:04

Lemon, let's cut to the chase...what's your husband's sperm like?

Fabuluce · 05/06/2013 13:52

Crazy dreams and insomnia followed by general levels of exhaustion were my biggest symptoms - didn't feel I was going mental too much of the time thankfully!

lemon - euro and I are both doing the do in July :) I start injecting on 8th. Buserelin .5ml plus dexamethasone 1mg daily then down reg scan after period to make sure all is virginal in there! Then reduce buserilin to .3ml and add fostimon 450iu for 3 days then reduce fostimon to 300iu and add merional 75iu. All sounds the same to me as last time - has anyone else done similar?

tametortie · 05/06/2013 14:01

Juicy- I LOVE your tales about th'usband and his spaff Grin fucking hilarious!!!

buzzybee123 · 05/06/2013 14:03

lemon ah I jus wondered why LP, they will probably yp the dose of gonal f depending on your response, what dose of gonal f were you on when you did IUI

juicy glad you sound happier about your IVf, Brno is small so the fireworks might be a couple of spartklers Grin

how is it that the clock says 2.05 Confused surely it must be home time now

JuicySteak · 05/06/2013 14:37

Ain't no sparklers here, Buzzard! Grin

Nokkie73 · 05/06/2013 15:06

Fuck the Gods, you lot can talk man innit (as they say on buses in South London). I go quiet for a few days and I come back to catapulting fanjos and an alarming spaff shower. Well, to be fair, that's mainly that ole slattern juisypolkadotdresscoveredwithspunkymonkey.

drizz hello lovely

buzz am so glad you seem to be holding onto your little one. I am keeping everything crossed for you.

tame fuck a pot noodle, that must have been a shock eh ? Any more news ? I know you may not want to get your hopes up, but mine are on your behalf. Bloody lovely news.

Hello to everyone else. Blimey, it's all go here. Come on, get on the fun bus. I'm driving. Ding ding.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/06/2013 15:13

Grin at the exploits of t'husband. Clearly knickers are overrated for dress-trying juicy.

We're unexplained, so the other half does come up with the goods, including a scary 47mil, 95% motile for the last failed round of IUI (the one time I got diffed it was only 4mil).

Buzz LP is standard (and as it's funded, I get few choices). But I do have a decent AFC last time they counted about a year ago and a naturally short cycle, so it might help against the 1-egg cooked on day 10 issue that's been scuppering more eggs idea of SO IUI a few times recently.

Fabulice you speak an entirely different language Wink. I didn't get most of that except that we'll be cycling at the same time. Hurrah for that.
