Watch? Well, I could fish out a film, I suppose. I don't generally do TV in the day. I have tea, chocolate biscuits, my ipad and two books, though Grin One book is easy reading (Terry Prachett's Lords and Ladies), and the other is proper learning (Einstein's Relativity). I may not get beyond Kirk/McCoy slashfic on the ipad today, mind Grin

We have been watching films every night since I got back home from hospital. So far: Dredd, Avengers Assemble, Captain America, The Expendables 2, and the latest episode of Game of Thrones. I think there's another one in there too, but I can't remember. None are what you'd call masterpieces of film, but all have been enjoyable and easy to follow. Rereading books and fics is pretty similar to a shitfilmathon, though - comforting and doesn't tax the brain too much!

When I was a teenager off school sick, I used to watch the schools programmes for infants, because they were reassuringly simple.

My "go to" DVDs when ill are West Wing or the extended LOTR. They mean I only have to get off the sofa once every 3 hours or so Grin

It's far too early. Step away from the pish sticks.

My nipples are unstingy. Nothing to see here.

draf I find there are certain films (chickflicks and oldies) that I prefer watching in the daytime for some reason. BTW, if you have never watched it, I highly recommend Brief Encounter.

James Bond is good in the afternoons. Especially on a Sunday. With my dad asleep in an armchair.

LOTR is indeed a great comfort film. I concur!

I feel exhausted - reasons potentially (a) getting up and doing things this morning, (b) OMG DRUCKS, (c) waking up three hours earlier than planned this morning, and struggling to go back to sleep.

My most recent good film discovery was Twelve Angry Men. It's got a really high IMDB rating, which is why we bought it, and wow is it deserved! Superb film. Not one for a dozy day though, too much attention required.

evilgiraffe · 04/06/2013 12:03

Aww, bugs, now I want a bacon sandwich :( Never mind.

EuroShaggleton · 04/06/2013 12:10

Well done bugs. Good pish stick resistence!

Draf I'm ashamed to say I have never watched that. I really should!

I have chocolate biscuits, and I have apples.

You should, Euro, it's brilliant both as story and beautiful cinematography. You wouldn't think a film about twelve men in one room talking to each other filmed in black and white would be quite so compelling, but it's fabulous.

EuroShaggleton · 04/06/2013 12:29

I've heard that, and it's essential viewing for most law students, but somehow it passed me by!

Team America Montage is exactly what goes through my head whilst running, so I am glad you all have the ear worm too now Grin

Stabbing and implanting all sounds very unpleasant. My sympathies to all the ivf-ers.

Took me years to get round to watching Brief Encounter but I loved it when I finally did. I've never seen 12 Angry Men. It's on the list though..

Good skills bugs!

I'm not completely au fait with the proposed changes to legal aid, but I know that a lot of lawyers who I respect in the area are completely up in arms about it.

Good work Bugs good work! MATV would be proud of that effort but he could definitely blow you out of the water.

Interesting discussions on 'Frankie' tonight. Never even heard of it before but watching it now because 'frankie' is treating a woman who's had IVF and has OHSS and is six weeks pregnant.....I could do with a cry. She just asked the nurse what she was supposed to be if she couldn't be a mother. To be honest I wonder that every day but I daren't bring it up because MATV gets very angry with me.

I have montages when I'm running. Only when I'm running though, not when I'm doing anything else. I am at the end of day two of dairy free and caffeine free. Not been too bad, I could do with a cake though and I've drunk that much water I'm mega bloated! 6 pints and counting plus green tea and fruit tea. The fruit tea has made my pee go pink!

RaspberrySnowCone · 04/06/2013 21:26

ohhhh and its even got issues about people with learning disabilities having sex lives. This is like my life on TV.

HesterShaw · 04/06/2013 22:31

Shall we have a Team America feem next time? Fuck yeah.
