ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

oh cross posts. rock is jacuzzi worse than swimming pool bacteria wise? I imagined it was about the same. I had only really thought about the heat part. I am tempted to do tomorrow but feel like 12dpo us a nicer number so going to hold off.

Jacuzzi is a hotter temp usually than a swimming pool so bacteria can multiply quicker. I suppose the thing is, there's probably very little chance that it would cause you any problems if you did use it, and you can't put your life on hold while TTC, so really it's only you can decide if you want to go in there or not - I was chugging bulmers two days before I got my BFP this time, and drank a bottle and a half of champagne the night before I found out I was having DS so I don't necessarily follow all the advice I just think its better to make an informed choice once you know the risks if that makes sense :)

Lil, one of my best pals was in just your situation when TTC! AF was due Mon, big weekend planned at spa with the girls! She tested Fri am, got a BFN, so went out that night and got smashed, then headed Sat-Mon for spa with wine & jacuzzis in good measure, then tested again on Weds when Flo hasn't showed - BFP! Felt a bit guilty, but her little boy is a 1yr old cutie now, so don't worry - enjoy your weekend in moderation & test when you get home I say!

I once thought I saw my dad (who's dead) in the street, but turned out to just be a look alike. It was a very odd feeling. I occasionally dream about him and I feel he kinda talks to me that way. That might sound dumb but I don't care.

CD4 here, ERTD is shipping out. I got woken up by the frigging donkey in the field next door, I was dreaming about my Mum and she was talking and then she was braying, then I realised I was dreaming and the donkey was intruding!

Two days late now. No sign of ERTD but I have plenty of pains. Do you get normal ERTD pains and a BFP or should I just resign myself to another BFN month??

Not too sure about the Jacuzzi but I wouldn't stop myself from drinking, I had hen do last weekend and still drank. You can't stop everything or you would be stopping forever. Plus, I have read the 5 week thing too. bean doesn't share the blood stream until 5 weeks so shouldn't have an affect. Just don't go mental! lol.

Once upon a time, in Essieland.... (sorry its epic but I have to set the scene!)

So I'd just been talking about my Gdad with a friend, she and I were away for a girly weekend and for some reason I was telling her about how Gdad and I used to go to this spot near his house to see the deer when I was little and sometimes there was a single white deer amongst all the brown ones. Gdad and I were really close, my Gma is a total battle axe, so time spent with Gdad, without her was so precious, and these deer trips were just magical when I was little, just me and him. Now this white deer became something of a mascot, because it felt like only me and him knew it existed, and we'd always look out for it, even long after it had probably died. Anyway, fast forward 25 years, my friend and I were driving along a wooded road talking about this cute little childhood memory, (I was driving) and suddenly my friend said, sounding a bit freaked out ?did you say a white deer?? and she pointed and by the side of the road was this beautiful pure white stag, he was massive, with creamy antlers, just standing on the verge looking straight at us both. I nearly crashed the frigging car. We were both totally shaken by it. I know it is probably just coincidence but the deer was all on its own and it just stood and looked straight at us, I felt like it was looking me in the eye as we slowed down and drove by and then it just turned and walked into the woods. It was amazing. I know it was him. I?ve always felt like he?s still around.

See I said it was a bit bonkers! I wanted to leap out the car and run after it!

oh dulcet sorry to hear about your car. I practically have a brand new car its had so many bits replaced recently so you have my sympathy! Hope you get it sorted soon.

I've also heard people having cramping at ertd time and then going on to get a bfp so you're not out yet x

Well I peed in a cup at four this morning. Woke up bursting for a wee and thought well im not gonna waste this fmu. That was fun aiming for an egg cup so early.

Just tested it and have a what looks like a bfn but possibly barely visible line yet again. I just dont know what to think. Its a pink dye one with a sensitivity of 20. Does that make sense?

The thing is I do feel pregnant now. Boobs have gone huge and tender. Peeing alot, so much so its disturbing me at night. Nosebleed this morning. Huge appetite. Cm. Nausea although no actual vomiting yet. And of course lack of ertd.

I just want a straight result now. I'm just going to leave it untill I know im am def past period due date and then will hopefully get a definitive bfp.

What an amazing story Essie! I would definitely think that too if it happened to me. You're not bonkers. But if you're, then I am too. Did you feel comforted by it after you got over the shock?

A few years after my dad died I had a dream that I was in a house near the sea that I hadn't been to before and I was on the second floor. I live near the sea but it wasn't my house. Anyway, in my dream he was on the other side of the window (so would've been floating, but this was a dream!) and he was waving goodbye to me. I don't know how I knew it was goodbye but I just did. I felt like he'd been watching over me and was now moving on IYSWIM. I know it was probably just my subconscious saying goodbye finally but I woke up feeling sad and like there was a sense of finality to it. Not as impressive as your story ess but thought I'd share anyway!

When are you due on Flo? It all sounds promising.

Sorry about the car Dulcet. Hope you get it fixed. It's annoying when cars break. We had to get a new one as ours was rattling around for ages. I was a bit scared of going round corners!

Might drag myself out to buy some new trews but going to spend most of the day watching Glastonbury online and pretending I'm there.

Fab story. I love that is made you think of him and feel connection, whether it was anything ghostly or not. I nearly bought my Grandad a Chelsea bun at the bakery about 5 years after he had died a while back. My brain just forgot he wasn't here anymore and I was going to take him a bun. It was odd.

ooh flo, you can get ones with a sensitivity of 10miu, perhaps you need one like that? My internet cheapies are 10.., not sure which shop ones are 10miu but I think the FR ones are? It is sounding highly promising!

Bear, yes, a dream like that would make me think it was more than just a dream too, my experience did feel like closure of some sort after I'd gotten over the shock. I reckon if I'd seen it on my own I wouldn't have believed it, so I'm glad I had my friend with me! It is comforting in a strange sort of way though isn't it. Like your dream, it leaves you feeling a bit confused, in a 'erm...what just happened there?' kind of a way, but even if it is our subconscious at work then whatever it did it helped. If it means we are bonkers then that fine with me too!

That's amazing about the bun, must have left you feeling a bit strange for a while. I think anything that sort of crossed the living/dead divide will always be a bit spooky, whether it is ghostly or just our brains processing it all and getting it mixed up sometimes my brain does that a lot .

No idea re wee temp, I know it says allow to get to room temp, but the one cycle I did contraband and got really strong lines at ov time I used hot pee and it was fine and seemed to work ok!

I personally think a line is a line is a line Flo.

I might try to pick up a fr today Essie, if not I'm going to do as Dulcet says and wait a few days. I was originally going to poas on Monday if ertd hadn't started at weekend.
