So who's next in line for that BFP???

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 10:41

Oh and I think the research was done SFF before EC and after ET but I can't see how you could do it just before EC (unless you have a very young rampant partner, I think MrB will want to save up a couple of days worth!!) But I can see that after could work, and I think the theory was that it would help implantation.

keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 10:45

Nope, it's before ET, to get the body used to the sperm, or some such. Save them up for EC...

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 10:50

We've been told two days of abstinence before EC, no more, no less. That ties in nicely with giving the trigger. SFF between then and ET, in that case GrinGrinGrin

I'm hoping for a bit of notice for ET, as MrG has to take the day off work to drive me. Neither of our managers know the reason for the time off, they just know we are at the mercy of hospital schedules.

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:17

Geek I got up at 8am naturally but it was a good uninterrupted sleep, got to be be in bed early tonight as we need to get to the clinic for 6.30am. Milk is actually a good source of protein, if you look at the labels it can contain 3.6g per 100ml, hence easy to keep up your intake of it. In terms of egg collection I would say its alright to go back the next day to work, but if you want to avoid dink boss stress take the day off.

I may try the sff before ET, Keep I was speaking to a lady yesterday at the clinic who was given an hour to come in for her 3 day transfer. but then she was delayed by a couple of hours after that

Beedle well done on the bloods, hope you get to hear from them soon. It's all go with you now, what day stimming are you on now?

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 11:22

do you mean she was given an hour's notice to come in? solars Shock

Today is day 6 in the golden egg growing house!

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:29

Yep Beedle Shock indeed!! Then the clinic were running late by 2 hours so she could have taken her time, I'm a bit worried as I'll need more than an hours notice!! 6 days not long to go then!!

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 11:36

Shock solars one hour!!! It takes me longer than that to get to the clinic from work! I know the timing of these things can't be helped, but surely these clinics realise that we can't just be sat at home for the entire time. And to then be running two hours late...

Ooh beedle def cycle buddies, day 3 in my nice, sunny golden egg growing house here. I was so sure, the way my last cycle seemed to be going, that I'd be weeks behind you.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 11:38

I suppose its good that I already know it will be a day 2 transfer in the afternoon. I imagine they'll decide the time when they do EC. Hopefully they'll write it down so I don't have to remember it after all those drugs they're going to give me :o

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2013 11:38

Wow brookers, it's all go go go in here!

Just a quick post and run from me as we have lots to sort before Italy tomorrow, just wanted to say I'm brooking for you all.

here I'd the link for the cocktails. Hope it works.

Ooh, and Geek it's not an NHS thing as for the bloods. My clinic gives me scans and bloods every other day when I start stimming. Crazy about the differences!

I'm going to say chow belle now, and brook for you from Italy x

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:43

Having said all that I'm pretty sure I was told the day before ET what time to come in on my NHS round.

OP posts:
Solars · 27/05/2013 11:44

Ohhhh Maybe have a great time in Italy and good luck with your first stab tmrw x

Hi Brookers

Wow, loads of excitement in here. Brooking like billio that the bfps come soon for you all Smile

I've found 11 cbfm test sticks in the cupboard, pm me if you want them.

There is also a frer hpt, the other one from the pack was used on the fabled tripe whammy Friday to produce a super strong and early bfp, so it might be lucky! Pm me if you want it

Enjoy the bank holiday everyone Grin x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 12:06

little did you only do 1 test to confirm your pregnancy? Shock

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 13:25

well I must be responding Ok as I need to reduce my dose of old ladies wee to 225 and go in for a scan on Thurs am :o :o Looking good for EC next monday i think.

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 13:58

Joins beedle in staring at little looking like Shock you have to be kidding...?

yay beedle, Old Ladies' Wee rocks! Brooking that as you're reducing your stims you're going to get a great crop of golden eggs.

maybe have a faaaaabulous time in Italy, don't forget to come back with a proper Italian silk MN scarf :) Good luck for Tuesday's injection (and all of the following ones, of course). Maybe my clinic will be doing bloods, but didn't want to tell me because my face was a picture when I saw the injection needle Grin

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 14:16

I think I'm going to assume that little did a whole load of Cb digital tests with the week indicator and never felt the need to use the other FRER. Or maybe after she'd used 15 FRER she didn't need to use that last remaining one :o Cos no-one just does one test do they?

Now you can feel better geek :o :o

TheLittleFriend · 27/05/2013 14:47

Geek & Beedle, I know, in a freak, I only did one test this time! It was very unlike me too, as I did loads with dd and pg that didn't work out.
This time round though, I tested about four days early, as I was already having symptoms, and the like came up as strong and dark as the control line immediately. I just felt very pregnant, and didn't feel the urge to test.
( but if it makes you feel better, I had tested with a opk the night before, as I didn't have any hpts in the house. I only bought the frers as I got a positive with the opk! In fact, I think it was you geek, who told me to save my fmu the next day till I could get to a shop Wink)

RubberBullets · 27/05/2013 15:56

You have fallen off my tio list so just a quickie from me no not that kind you filthy minded people to mark my place.

Brooking for you all from a bus in Manchester on the last day of our holiday

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/05/2013 16:01

I only did one test too --one every day for 2 weeks- Grin

Geek I missed saying woo hoo well done on your first jab, are they going well? Are you still on the metformin?

Rubber hope you and the family are having a good time :)

Everyone else, I can't keep up with all the jabbing, sniffing and appointments, you're all doing brilliant! I can't wait for all the BFP's :):):)

BlindKitty · 27/05/2013 18:27

Maybe where is Italy are you?

Question to the ivf-ers, have any of you been diagnosed with 'unexplained'? How long we're you ttc before you considered ivf? Did any of you try iui first? Thanks guys

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 21:08

kitty I think if we had undergone investigations within a couple of years of starting to TTC we would have been diagnosed with unexplained but we'll never know. As it is, I had a rake of work done to sort out potential causes a couple of months ago. MrG has known swimmer issues caused by his diabetes (so not a factor back when we started) so it's ICSI or nothing for us. We started considering seeking help after TTC for about 10 years. Because male factor was identified early on, we weren't recommended to go down the IUI route, or even bog standard IVF. Sorry, that's really not much help to you, is it Confused

boo thank you m'dear Grin I had another first today - stabbing myself in a public toilet. I felt like a bit of a junkie Blush

little I well remember tripe whammy friday, and your +OPK the day before. I'd forgotten you needed to pot up your pee so you could get your sticks Grin

rubber hope you had a fab holiday!

If you get a chance to, I highly recommend going to see 'Epic' in 3D - just amazing!!!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 27/05/2013 22:05

Hi sorry to have been a bad brooker lately. This will have to be a super duper quick message as I've got a really early start tomorrow.

I wanted to pop by to say good luck for tomorrow Solars ill be brooking all goes well.

Well done on the stabbing Beedle and Geek
ShockConfusedSad I can't believe that about the menopur!

Maybe good luck for starting, it's so exciting. Have a lovely time in Italy.

Keep what wonderful news. I'm so happy to hear Kip is doing well Grin

Kitty we are unexplained. We have been ttc for 33 cycles (I've just counted it, so bloody depressing) so far we have been offered nothing except IVF . No clomid or IUI, the specialists we have seen have said they don't think either would work for us. We have not been giving reasons why, I think it's mainly due to the consultants own preference on treatment. We were referred for IVF in sept/oct time. We first sought help in sept 2011. I don't know if that is of any help to you or not.

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 03:57

I did five tests and two blood tests...

kitty we were unexplained, though borderline sperm at the start. The NHS sent us on our way saying we could try iui and ivf, but wouldn't get ivf through them until 3 years. They didnt fund iui in our pct. As you know we are private out here, so decided to do 3xIUI then moved to ivf.

Good luck solars!!! X

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/05/2013 05:17

Good luck with the first jab maybe

And good luck for egg collection solars

BlindKitty · 28/05/2013 07:12

Thanks guys. I'm just trying to work out whether I'm wasting my time waiting for iui, especially given what the new nice guidelines say. Just don't want to kick off and then not get either! X
