Come on ladies, this is the one! Time for some BFPs!

The smallprint- Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers)

GooseyD · 04/05/2013 12:59

Oh and I texted my friend to say sorry - and not even a reply! Sad

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 13:08

Oh Goosey sorry that your friend took it badly. I suppose nobody likes to think they're insensitive, but it's a bit unfair getting upset and making you feel bad about feeling bad! Perhaps despite her defensiveness she'll have got the message and will be more careful in future?

Thanks for the info re jizz tests. We wouldn't really have a problem getting body-temp jizz to the hospital since we live opposite, so that might be the best and quickest option. I can't believe there actually is a Porn Room, I thought that must be made up!

sid sorry DH ballsed it up. Agree with charming, I just don't think men are in tune with good/bad dates, although this doesn't make it any less frustrating for you. My DH gets off lightly because we don't have a specific shag window, but he still doesn't notice when we haven't dtd for a week unless I mention it - and then I'm 'nagging' if I do. Angry

thunder forgot to say great news on the thyroid front!

For some reason I've gone mental with symptom spotting today. Even though I'm 99% certain that there's no chance, I've been feeling a bit sick and the smell of the fridge when I opened the door made me gip (nothing particularly strong in there, but there was some leftover paella that just wafted a bit). Someone please stop me from doing this, I do NOT want to give myself hope just to be crushed again!

GooseyD · 04/05/2013 13:13

Oh what she said wasn't really insensitive at all - she was just shocked at, and said two or three times, how few kids there will be on my wedding list (if we invite them all) when I had thought nearly a third of guests being under 10 was quite a lot! And then of course I a) interpret this as my friend not seeing that this makes me feel left behind and b) feel inadequate for not having contributed to the numbers yet. All pretty irrational stuff I suppose. Sad

GooseyD · 04/05/2013 13:18

Boom what cycle day are you?

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 13:21

Goosey that sounds like a lot to me - there were precisely NO children invited to my wedding party! And if it makes you feel better, I don't think it sounds irrational at all, the slightest mention of kids/babies can set me off, even if it isn't directly related to ttc.

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 13:23

Sorry, crossed posts. CD 25 today I think. But bearing in mind my average cycle is about 45 days long and (probably) anovulatory, I don't think I'm in with a chance!

Thundercatsarego · 04/05/2013 13:24

goosey, erm no- there is nothing irrational here apart from how she's now behaving. So fair enough she wasn't meaning to be insensitive- that's fine. When you point out that actually you are a bit sensitive about that stuff, that's when she should apologise and it should all be fine. Obviously I don't know what you said to her but I'm assuming you didn't bite her head off?

Her behaviour now is horrible- sulking and being upset because you are upset about it? Not very caring imo.

Bajas · 04/05/2013 13:25

goosey I don't think friends have any real understanding of how hard it is emotionally. Poor you with her giving you the guilts.

sid that is awful timing. I agree that dh's don't think about it in the same obsessiveway that we do. Dh working nights this month apart from one weeks annual leave in shag week! Sounded wonderful until I realised he is away visiting sil in England that week (we live in northern Ireland) so zero chance. I was raging with him totally unfairly as he had booked the flights months ago!

Do any of the other teachers feel bad about timing from here for a couple of months? I know if we was successful now I'd be going off on ml in the manic few months leading up to exams and my ml could run over bits of two academic years and I'd be on maternity pay when on summer holidays

On phone so can someone add me to list

bajas 38 married and trying since July 2012 so on cycle 10 and starting to lose hope. Just started temping last month

Thundercatsarego · 04/05/2013 13:28

boom I'm going to give you a mercy sausage Wang. This is only because I don't want you to feel bad, not because I don't think there's a chance you're pg.

For two of the last few cycles I have had pretty much all the same symptoms as when I was pg. so I convinced myself it was my month even though I knew how unlikely it was. Turns out my body was just making it all up- hormones damn them.

But fx you are!

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 13:48

thunder Thanks, needed that! Bwahaha 'mercy sausage Wang' - at least when if I'm not diffed I have lived to see this phrase in use. Every cloud...

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/05/2013 13:58

Hey all, news from frog today? In the sun on holiday so difficult to read the phone in the glare middle class problems Wink
Apologies therefore for missing everything else that is going on but looking for advice/experience... As the queen of pimping I am amazed I need to ask but... Haven't temped or pimped for 6 weeks. Based on history would expect to O on CD18 (Tue). Brought some OPK on hol and just pimped (don't ask about the pot, you don't want to know) and my OPK is totally blank. I'm used to having gradually darkening lines for a week before O so either something has changed, I've already O'd or I'm going to O 5 to 10 days later than I expect (however don't think this will happen as have had EWCM yesterday and today and my cycles are like clockwork). Anyone ever had their OPK behaviour change drastically? Only big caveat was that it wasn't FMU and may have had a reasonable amount of lager. Can I assume this would affect an OPK like it would a pg test? Grrr, just wanted confirmation holiday shagging was at the right time and now I'm confused!
Thunder, never did follow up with the clinic due to work craziness but next month I will once I've qualified for maternity pay Are your levels getting better? Last thing I remember you'd had a massive improvement

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 14:07

Here is my parting grumble for today - instadiffa friend (she with whom I had The Chat about insensitive FB behaviours) who had her third baby in Jan has just posted a belly picture: caption 'Here's a rare sight - NO BUMP!' gaaaaahh I give up!

CharmingCats · 04/05/2013 14:18

Boom - stop looking at FB. Honestly, it's changed my life. No longer looking at inane/self-congratulatory updates really helps. I keep in touch with people I actually want to see and don't waste time or energy on people I don't.

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 14:23

Charming I know I should. I use the 'I use it to keep in touch with friends who live far away' excuse constantly, but really it's my number one procrastination tool..

yorkiebilb · 04/05/2013 14:28

Sorry to say this about your friend boom but a bit Shock at your friend posting a pic of her non pregnant belly esp. after you asked her to be a bit more sensitive!

merkin I have exactly the same problem this cycle too. Opk showing nothing and have normally had my positive by now. It could be that your urine is too diluted from your holiday beer drinking though. I reckon carry on testing, that's what I'm doing. I guess you haven't got a thermometer to take your bbt to see if you've ov or not?

MrsB00Mbastic · 04/05/2013 14:29

Just deactivated account Grin Free from any more bump updates!

CharmingCats · 04/05/2013 14:53

ooooh, am so impressed! I just deleted the app from my ipad as I'm too lazy to go on computer. Well done boom!

Bunnygirlie · 04/05/2013 16:21

Thunder - doh me, I didn't get what you meant! I guess reflex lady can just feel something!

Cats- I have not tried acu but love my reflex, my lady is so nice and has treated so many TTC ladies, very relaxing and it's really helped my cycles to regulate.

Berries, had a green eyed monster moment on par with moon and sheep jealousy, been to safari park today and very very jealous of the lemur with twin babies!!!!! It's getting crazy now!

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 04/05/2013 17:28

Goosey neither of my 2 pg friends know that they've upset me, I'm just bottling it all up and one day I'll explode! One (who i love to bits) thinks ive stopped using FB (I've just hidden her activity so I don't respond to her posts anymore. Although my cat vommed on her carpet today (I'm on hol) so I kinda feel like that's payback for incessantly posting pictures of her bump (good kitty) Smile

BlindKitty · 04/05/2013 17:33

Boom HIDE her activity!!! Xxx

Thundercatsarego · 04/05/2013 18:18

Evening all.

boom I am SO impressed! Deactivating your whole account...amazing.

merk yeah got some more results on Thurs, in six weeks on the meds I've dropped from 15 to 4. So I'm now within NHS 'normal' range but we've agreed that I'm aiming for below 2 so I've just upped the meds a wee bit.

I got my opk smiley yesterday and dtd this morning and weds, will go for tonight too to try to cover all bases.

Well done kitty's kitty!

Frogcatcher · 04/05/2013 18:53

I'm here merkin. I've not run off to the grads just yet as am still not convinced it will stick around. I got a line again this morning but it was more faint that yesterday evening's so go figure that one - Dr Google says not to worry about it.

Commiserations to all with insensitive friends & thanks for the advice on how to break the news to people who might be TTC. I'll go with the text when we get there & see how we get on. Thing is I don't know if she even is TTC so don't want her to feel like she should be if they've just decided for whatever reason not to start yet or not have kids!

Boom v weirdly this cycle I actually haven't had as many symptoms as when I usually convince myself in the 2ww. I don't have sore boobs that everyone always says was their first sign but don't really get them for AF either. I have had a lot of backache & twinges in my lower belly which are a bit like Ov pains. I had a bizarre grease explosion on my hair on about 6DPO which I think I also got the possible cp month & might be linked to a hormone surge I suppose. I also got a couple of spots on my chin & a humungous one on my back. If this is going to be a return to my spotty days that I only grew out of a couple of years ago I am not going to be happy! I also ate some garlic mash the day before the BFP which tasted really really strong to me but DP said it wasn't.

Talking about bad timing for all you teachers I've just re-read my work maternity policy & I have screwed up financially. Our maternity pay is based on your salary over an average of 8wks leading up to the date 15wks before due date. I will (hopefully) get a small pay rise effective 1 Sept which is - yes, you've guessed it, almost exactly 15 wks prior to FF's predicted due date. Basically I will be getting it linked to my current salary & not the one I'll be on when I leave work so will be getting a pay cut again when I go on maternity leave!

Frogcatcher · 04/05/2013 18:56

LOL at Kitty's kitty - they really are a good judge of character animals!

Oh & mine will not leave me alone at the moment if anyone wants to make that a symptom to spot - my girl cat was sitting on my lap yesterday & kneading my stomach & chest to bits which she doesn't normally do I'm sure.

Frogcatcher · 04/05/2013 18:59

Oh & feel free to sausage wang at me when I get ungrateful for moaning about maternity pay policies when you would all happily work for free if it meant you were on maternity
