We've almost filled the second thread so here is a new one, so we can carry on chatting! Threads #1 and #2 saw some stunning successes and some sad outcomes. We'll have more of the former and less of the latter on thread #3 please!

All comers welcome. I found it very useful to be with people going through the same thing when I did my first cycle, so if you would like to join us, please come on in!

buzz please don't say to joos 'I want to see your Pat Butchers'. That's an invitation for all sorts of mayhem to ensue. Grin. I did chuckle at your cherry pie comment. If you get your bfp, your 'roid rage will all be worth it.

tame joos is right. think of it as a brand new cycle without the baggage of the past. In a way, use the knowledge you now have about your body and ivf in general to drive this cycle forward. We're always here to plus for information so use and abuse !

jooseyspongeface all that foof sluicing for nothing ? How very dare he. I really wish you hadn't mentioned cherry pie because I want one now.

buzzybee123 · 12/05/2013 19:36

noks I am not a woman to be trifled with right now, i'm feeling very sweary too Grin

Nokkie73 · 12/05/2013 19:45

buzz do a sweary haka. 'Ka-fuckin-Mate'. Film it and you'll go viral.

buzzybee123 · 12/05/2013 20:13

nokkie I shall get onto it asap Grin

EuroShaggleton · 12/05/2013 20:13

Evening ladies. AF just arrived, so I guess I am on to cycle 2. Wish me luck. I don't think I can handle more disappointment.

Nokkie73 · 12/05/2013 20:32

euro I am keeping everything crossed for you. Xxxxx

buzzybee123 · 12/05/2013 20:37

its the beginning of a whole you new phase euro :)

wishuponapositive · 12/05/2013 21:08

Thanks everyone for your comments on the 5:2 diet. We've decided to steer clear from it whilst ttc (thank fook)

I thought I understood all of the ivf terms and stuff but reading through your posts it's made me realise I need to read more!

I really hope you all get what you want very soon xxx

Jewcy · 12/05/2013 21:22

I am in possession of the ceramicists business card (ooh! get me) from one of our previous chit-chats and so am considering commissioning him to come and varnish my jugs

Euro, I can feel your anxiety from here. You've had a super-tough time and you strike me as a stoic but you really must allow yourself to feel what you're feeling. You haven't simply had a failed IVF cycle like some; you have suffered the agony and crushing disappointment of miscarriage. You now have to face your fears again with a second cycle but also with that sadness in your heart. You would be a freak to not be feeling scared.
This is going to be a brand new egg. There is no reason to believe that this can't be your time. Have faith and keep talking to us about your fears x

Wish, yes - keep researching IVF and looking for stories to boost your confidence. Have you looked at Fertility Friends yet? Tons of knowledge on there and lots of people 'cycling' at the same time as you.

Motor, has your husband given his head a shake yet? Come and talk to us..

chocoloco1 · 12/05/2013 21:43

euro everything crossed for you, happy for you that you are starting a new cycle.

wish welcome, IVF is a rollercoaster, but I can't wait to do it all again so it can't be all bad, or I'm just weird! I think you asked how you cope with failed cycles, let's hope you don't have to find out - but you get through it somehow and I'm a stubborn bitch and don't give up, so that helps! As for understanding terms and stuff, when I went for my follow-up recently I was a little Blush as I had heard of every new thing/technique/research etc that the consultant mentioned - so there's plenty of time for all that.

tame glad to hear things are progressing well with you. It can be nerve wracking, but I suppose we just have to trust that the 'experts' know what they're doing ... 'cos obviously I'm always that philosophical and ask questions when things don't seem as we want them to be.

buzz well done on being pupo Smile. You've sounded so calm and sorted throughout the whole process, so I think you are allowed a bit of rage now, although crap for you to be feeling like that.

noks and jewcy what a comedy double act you two are, I can't keep up! noks you can share any worries on here, we won't mind at all. jewcy glad to hear that things are going to be happening for you very soon.

Well, nothing really happening with me, just more torturous waiting until we can start again in mid July ish. AF arrived yesterday so bang goes my small glimmer of hope that I'd be lucky like our Noks as unlikely as that is to happen for us as DH's frozen sperm is in a lab 50 miles away Sad

Sorry to anyone I've forgotten
X

buzzybee123 · 12/05/2013 21:48

jewcy your clinic is just up the road from where mine was, have you been able to find somewhere to stay

twinklestar2 · 12/05/2013 22:28

Good luck euro, keeping everything crossed for you (except legs as it's shag week)

buzzybee123 · 13/05/2013 11:57

jewcy we have one in the freezer :) which is good although 2 would have been nice.It means if it doesn't work this time then we can have one more go later in the year but we will get on with adoption in the mean time.

I have slept well and feel better but still tired, I've had constant cramps too, think I might need to sit in the loo for a bit . . .

tametortie · 13/05/2013 13:23

13 eggs Smile

Dhs sperms were much worse after all the vits and healthy living Hmm with only 8% grade a motile after washing. Weird. We have icsi anyway.

More scared than ever for tomorrows call =(

resipsa · 13/05/2013 13:29

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow's call tame. I had mine about 10 days ago and don't think I realised just how much I was dreading it until the phone rang.
13 is a very good number to work with, lucky you.

ScarlettInSpace · 13/05/2013 13:44

Hi everyone, just checking in, you all seem to be doing well!

there are some new faces on here, for those who don't know me I did ICSI in Feb/March which failed disamally when my eggs all fertilised abnormally. Moved on to IUI now as it's paid for by my taxes which can only go ahead if I have a follie on L side due to tube removed on R side...

noks fab news, well done missus!!!

euro good luck! Will be watching with interest, as you know I'll be going down a similar route if the IUI doesn't work.

everyone else hello Grin it's been toooo long to namecheck sorry!

AFM, after a sloooooooow start [my ovaries were snoozing, a lot. There was one on the L which was a dismal 10mm by CD16 Hmm ] we finally got to 18mm on CD19 and triggered, IUI'd on Friday! So in bloody 2ww now and imagining all kind of symptoms Grin OTD next Friday.

Quick question - I tested today [4 days after ovitrelle] to see if I could see trigger shot but was negative which was a surprise, I thought it took over a week to leave your system? Anyone any experience?

Anyway just thought I'd pop in, good luck everyone Smile

buzzybee123 · 13/05/2013 14:04

tame 13 is a good haul, you should look at about 40-50% progressing, my husbands sperm was the worst it has ever been and he is at what is supposedly is his healthiest Hmm tomorrows phone call is the beginning of your next step of getting closer to motherhood :).
It is now out of your control, there is nothing that you can do change to outcome at this stage. I would be surprised if you did not get to blasto stage and if you didn't then you are still one step ahead as in you will know this is not the route for you. Think positively my little tame this is your time :)

scarlett sorry to hear about your ICSI, did they have any explanation as to why?? Good luck with the IUI, I think with the whole trigger thing it depends on the dose and how fast your body breaks it all down, there was a discussion somewhere else about this, i'm sure euro will remember the details, at least you will know it really is a BFP when you get it :-)

EuroShaggleton · 13/05/2013 14:17

Well done tame! I made Mr euro give the clinic his number for "the call". I couldn't face it.

scarlett welcome back! I know someone on another thread said they were told that 1000 units of the trigger leave the body each day, so I guess it depends on the dose and the individual. I was still getting positives at 8dpEC, so 10 days after the trigger shot.

Hope you are doing ok, buzz.

ScarlettInSpace · 13/05/2013 14:24

buzzy I'm hoping beyond hope that as I'm only 36 it's not just that my eggs are fuked, although my poor response to date means there probably arent many left [1st IVF on long protocol I only got 1 follie so was abandoned, the 2nd on sp [with the abnormal embryos] I got 3].

On IUI I've done 5 days of clomid then 150miu Menopur EOD, and it took nearly 3 weeks to get 1 follie @ 18mm [I usually have a textbook 27/28 day cycle], so I think we can say pretty clearly I am a poor responder, with DOR [Diminished Ovarian Reserve] now on my notes next to Tubal in the diagnosis box Hmm

There is a school of thought that high stims can cause chromosomal abnormalities and I was on the highest, I really hope this was the case for me.

Once the 3 go's of IUI are used up, we will look at mild IVF, I don't think I get on well with the higher doses - I had a similar experience to euro on DR. having said that the clomid on this cycle didn't have any effect on me which I was surprised about!

ScarlettInSpace · 13/05/2013 14:27

Hiya euro Grin that 1,000 units p/day makes sense, I just looked on my script and it was 5,000 unit shot done on Thursday morning so that's probably about right to be out of my system phew!

buzzybee123 · 13/05/2013 14:37

I knew you would remember euro Wink

scarlett I think mild sounds like a good plan but hopefully you won't need it, it only needs one good one, I don't think high amount of stimms help other than with quantity of eggs. Also being on the drugs don't help, I was only DR for a very short time but felt weird and didn't like it, now I have moved onto the steroids Hmm I look forward to the day when I don't take any drugs, I might actually feel normal and human Grin

Jewcy · 13/05/2013 16:34

Tame & Buzzy, I'm astonished and not a little bit scared to hear your husbands' sperm is in the worst shape ever after rattling on supplements. Are they boozers? Smokers? Thank goodness for ICSI. I'm pretty worried about th'usband's SA now..

Buzzy, I'm thrilled you have a frostie, it surely assuages the acute anxiety of thinking this HAS to work first time? Maybe I'm talking rubbish; what the fuck do I know? Buzzy, we haven't even bloody looked at any accommodation seriously yet. Why? Because of the fucking golf. Or, rather, th'usband's incessant watching of the fucker. I got my revenge last night by screaming "Tiger!" during sex Grin

*Scarlett, sounds like you've had it tough. I remember when I went back and read the whole thread your torment was sad to read. What are your thoughts on donor egg IVF? Does that freak you out? Good luck with the 2ww.

Remember I told you I am stalking cheering on the two ladies on FF who have both cycled at ReproG in the last fortnight? One has tested early and is preggo and the other (can you believe it?) is waiting until 5.30pm today to get her blood result. I am so hoping it's another positive.

NookNook · 13/05/2013 16:36

Hello! Hope it's ok to join the party...

I'm starting 3rd round of IVF (ICSI this time) in a couple of weeks. Seems like most of you are ahead of me but maybe some newcomers will join!

tametortie · 13/05/2013 16:37

No booze, no fags, lots of vits and an avid fitness fan. Count was good, motility awful. They are limping.

Jewcy · 13/05/2013 16:56

Shit, tame, I'm bamboozled. I always suspected these fecking vits were a buttock-load of bullshit. Never you mind...ICSI is the way forward. ICSI is the sacred cow of IVF!

NookNook, are you aware we have a member here called Nokkie? I hope we don't get the two of you mixed up 'cos we call her slapper allsorts of profane names. Good luck with number three. Do you have a clue as to what went wrong the last two times? Did you get any feedback? How old are you and is there anything else you think might interest us about you like criminal record/sex with celebrities/unusual markings Wink
